Yesterday was national matcha day and of course after work I had to partake. The location is in a shopping plaza in the first floor. This is a nice courtyard grassy area and a couple of tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy weather on a nice day. I ordered an ice matcha latte , they even served soft served matcha. This place was amazing and beats the $6.17 I wasted ordering matcha at SweetWater in Frisco. Thank you for such amazing service and great matcha latte
Small matcha shop in the Frisco area with seating on the outside. Inside has a small space that can fit just a few people. No tables or chairs on the inside, but there is something like a bench along the wall to sit. Service was ok, u order by kiosk, they call ur name, u collect your order. Nothing over the top. I rate my matcha 4 out of 10, it was in a small cup and very overpriced. I paid $10, tip included. Tip isn't an issue if the matcha was actually good.
I love matcha. It's so great to see a place that specializes in this unique green beverage. Most people come in for their cold drinks, like iced matcha latte or a fruity matcha drink with soft serve ice cream. Since this was my first time here, I got a hot matcha tea. It was plain, but it worked for me. I was able to get a full taste of the matcha. It had a nice aroma of hot tea with grassy notes, which is what good matcha should taste like. The place is small with ncie wooden benches against one side of the wall. I bet it gets crowded easily during busy hours. There are a couple of tables outside if you want more space. Their Maiko special is visually appetizing with a bunch of delightful ingredients like japanese chestnut, mochi balls, read beans, etc. I would definitely come back to try one of those, or at least a matcha soft ice cream. Yummy!
If you like matcha, you have to come here! I'm so happy they finally opened one in dallas. The first time I tried their matcha was in Hawaii and I went several times because it was THAT good. My husband always gets their maiko special which is basically their soft serve ice cream (we like their matcha ube combo) and a ton of toppings, but today we tried something different. He got their hojicha soft serve with their matcha cake and I got their matcha ube (surprise, surprise!) soft serve with corn flakes. Both were 10/10. Store is pretty small. 2-3 benches inside, with 2 kiosks. Really long hallway. Bathrooms are down the hallway. Very small lobby area; can get really crowded on weekends.
I actually ordered the "Sparkling Yuzu" so I went to a MATCHA shop and didn't get any Matcha... lol I thought my drink was good. It's like a yuzu soda. For what it's worth, my friend ordered the "Strawberry Matcha Latte" and he really liked it. He finished the drink in like 30 secs. No places to sit inside. There are a few tables outside though.
Go go go! I was so surprised to hear this place was opening. The place is small and has been usually crowded so I was intimidated to go. Thankfully I went during a lull and was able to order quickly. Everything came out fast and fresh. I really enjoyed the matcha shaved ice and the ube soft serve. Reminded me of meetcha matcha back in the day. Highly recommend!
Yum yum yum, the soft serve is the star of the show. The matcha soft serve isn't bitter or overly sweet and paired well with the different mediums. We enjoyed a variety, matcha latte, soft serve cone, and the maiko special which had a little bit of everything. Overall the quality was excellent and the quantity versus price was very good. We honestly struggled to finish everything! There isn't much seating inside but there are plenty of benches and seating outside. They have kiosks you can place your order and pay at along with at the counter. Wait time isn't very long but make sure you pay attention to your order since they can be quite busy.
Service (5/5) Food (5/5) I love the Maiko Special here! The mixture of textures and flavors are well done, especially the mochi and corn flakes. They had a seasonal soft serve flavor, yuzu, when I went, and it was delicious. Perfectly refreshing for a hot, TX summer day. I previously visited and got a Hojicha latte. Personally, I wanted a stronger flavor and less milk and sugar, but my friend enjoyed it when she tasted it. I hope to try a matcha Latte next time.
Was recommended this by a friend but sadly I think this is all hype! Meccha Matcha and Okaeri have such good matcha I'm not impressed by what they have here. I don't even think this is ceremonial or even 2nd harvest. If you're looking for just a basic latte or drink to experience that wonderfully frothy, grassy pure matcha taste or that incredible malted goodness hojicha has, I'm afraid this place is not for you. Line was out the door but moves relatively quickly. I think the main draw is the soft serve icecream creations. Maybe I'll come back to try that another day! Once you make it inside, you order at 1 of 2 kiosks. I was not able to get my matcha latte hot or modify the sweetness to be less sweet. I got my ICED drink quickly but it really was completely average matcha. No grassy taste. Color is not vibrant. Was not impressed. Also could not modify ice level. They weren't stingy with the ice but I would still prefer more drink. I don't believe these were milk options either. This place seems like a good option for families grabbing kids/the whole pack a cone. Just know that this isn't cheap for a whole family!
I've been so excited for this location to open up. They have only been open for 2 months so there is still room for improvement. I've been multiple times in the last 2 months & it seems like each time, it's a better experience. I personally wouldn't wait in a long line but luckily, every time I've been, there hasn't been a wait. During soft opening, there were definitely some kinks. They were out of the cheese foam but then said there was enough for my drink. There was barely any in my drink so that was a bad first impression. Soft serve was amazing but a 15 minute wait. Since soft opening, I've gotten the soft serve every visit and there's no longer a wait & never disappoints. They don't mix the matcha drinks per drink anymore which I don't mind. They make a large batch & it tastes the same in my opinion. The Maiko special is good if you like something similar to Che/halo halo. They did have a matcha shortage for a short period so check their social for updates so you don't come disappointed. Also, no boba at this location which I hope they do add in the future since I saw they're adding shaved ice.
It's just okay. I was surprised by the huge lines when they first opened, and I would say that as a place that specializes in matcha, it's not that great. The color of the matcha is really light, and as someone who has recently become a matcha snob, I would say that this is a good place for a basic latte but definitely not somewhere to expect ceremonial grade harvest matcha. I tasted more of the sweetener and milk than the actual matcha itself.
I would not come back. Definitely overhyped. When we arrived there , there was no one there and I was first person in line. All of a sudden 10-15 people arrive not too long after. But we didn't get our order till 10 mins later. Mostly 5 ppl behind us got their drinks and ice cream first. We ordered a hojicha tea float and the Maiko special. It took 4 people trying to figure out how to make the Hojicha Tea float. I don't understand why they would put ice in the cup then put the ice cream on top before they put in the tea. The worker pour the tea in the cup and it overflows and hands it to me. I asked for a lid or a cup because there's no way I can walk out with it without it spilling everywhere . He told me to drink it there so it won't spill. Still spilled all over my hands and feet. The other girl tried to put the lid on the maiko special but she said she can't close it so here you go. Customer service is horrible. The drinks and ice creams was ok. Had better. Definitely overpriced. Would not recommend nor would I be coming back because of the workers.
I went on a Saturday 30 minutes after it opened and it was PACKED. To be fair, the inside itself is very tight. When you come in, you place your order on a kiosk and wait for your number to be called. The staff was very kind and although there were tons of people ahead of me, it didn't take too long to receive my latte! The soft serve was great and a perfect addition to the latte. After just tasting the latte by itself, I wouldn't say it would be something I go back for. But with the soft serve on top... absolutely!! I will note that the matcha isn't being whisked by hand right now, but blended due to the volume of people I think. I would probably give it a few more months for the hype to die down before I visit again!
I loved Matcha Cafe Maiko when they had a location in Houston years ago, that one closed down so this one in Frisco is the only location in Texas now. I love their matcha ice cream and all things matcha from them. Today I got their matcha latte with cream, it tastes just as good as I remembered. The matcha is so strong and the cream on top is sweet and slightly salted, and this combination is just so good. I wanted to get their new banana pudding matcha but it was sold out :( The inside is really tight and small, but there are tables outside for you to sit and chill. read more

I've been going to Matcha Cafe Maiko a few times now and it's such a solid spot for anyone who loves matcha desserts and drinks. Super excited that they finally opened! I read the news article back in January about the new location opening and had been waiting for months for any update. It took some time, but we finally have another legit matcha place in North Dallas! I came during their soft opening week, and of course, there was a line. Luckily, I arrived about three minutes before the big crowd, so the wait wasn't too bad. The total time from getting in line to receiving my order was about 25 minutes. I was really looking forward to the matcha parfait (Maiko Special), and it did not disappoint. The parfait was super delicious and filling. It was 15% off during the soft opening (5/10-5/16), but the regular price is around $10. It's definitely on the pricey side, but hey, it's 2025 and everyone's obsessed with matcha. I also tried the matcha tea, which I wasn't too impressed with. It was a bit more watered down than I expected. Aside from that, the shop is still pretty small, but they have a decent number of benches where you can sit and wait. There are a couple of tables outside for dine-ins as well. Once I got to the front, everything went pretty smoothly. The staff were very friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. They also prepare the orders quickly; it only took about 7 minutes for my two items, which is impressive given how packed the store was. Overall, I really enjoyed the soft serve and will probably stop by whenever I'm craving some. I'll give their drinks another shot, though maybe I'm just not as into matcha lattes as everyone else. Had to check this shop for soft opening. Hojicha latte was okay , but the maiko special & matche latte was fire. Maiko special- I got the soft serve match & uber ice cream, comes with mochi, red beans, & little jellies. It's a really mixture & matcha ice cream was very buttery smooth. Their matcha latte was amazinnggg, it tastes pretty similar to ones you would get from Japan, this place is definitely making its way to my top places for matcha . ** prepare for a slight wait as they are soft opening & it takes time for them to hand whisk the matcha drinks. read more

High quality matcha drink and soft serve! Soft serve- large quantity. It's a very strong matcha taste for people newer to matcha. The beverage - refreshing and sweet. I'd probs get it unsweetened in the future. - price be prepared to pay around $6-7 per item. - the place is new so expect lines! -only downside they open at 1pm :( read more

I am so excited that there is a Matcha Maiko in DFW now. I stopped by on one of my days off in the middle of the week last Wednesday when it was super hot outside. While I was sad that they temporarily closed for two days, I appreciate that they keep their instagram up to date because earlier in the week they had to close because they were waiting on a matcha shipment. I got the matcha frappe made with oat milk and it was delicious. It was the perfect treat for this summer weather and it had a strong matcha taste to it. I wanted to try the matcha float but they did not have it in stock that day. The cafe itself is small, it is more of a place where you take to go. You also order through one of the kiosks when you enter the shop which is pretty nice. There were some benches inside and small tables outside. Overall, I had a great experience here and would definitely go out of my way to drive all the way to Frisco to enjoy this place! read more
With its recent opening, the line out the door definitely tests your patience--but it's absolutely worth the wait. I waited about 15 minutes for my drink, and honestly, no regrets. The matcha was the perfect vibrant green and tasted as good as it looked--smooth, rich, and well-balanced. I'm already looking forward to coming back for my next matcha fix! read more
I really liked how the ube swirl and matcha latte tasted. The shaved ice was good but is very dependent on how you like the flavor. It can taste very powdery but also taste pretty good. Its like either too icy and watery or too much matcha powder. But otherwise, I enjoyed it. Amazing spot and would get if in the area for some matcha! read more
Given the overwhelming demand, the cafe decided against actually hand whisking the matcha and instead prepared it in small batches. Hand whisking is an integral part of the matcha process and lends to it being a labor of love. It was disappointing that they chose to forgo such a pivotal aspect. Hopefully they start it up again soon. If I was just rating the soft server this place would be a solid 4 out of 5. Here's what we got: Maiko Special: soft server was solid. All the other toppings were somewhat meh. Strawberry matcha latte: The balance between the strawberry and matcha was off. I could mostly just taste the strawberry. The matcha wasn't nearly as strong as I'd expect. Hojicha latte with cheese foam: initial reaction: trash. Delayed reaction: not that bad, kinda interesting actually. Final reaction: interesting. Would recommend sipping the drink from the cup rather than drinking it from the straw. Total $25. read more

I was so excited when I heard Café Maiko had come to Frisco! I haven't had them since Waikiki years ago. We came by on a Saturday around 5 p.m. for their soft opening. Luckily, it wasn't too crowded. The interior is tiny - really standing room only, but there are a couple of benches to sit and wait. We ordered at the digital kiosks - got a Matcha Ube Mix Soft Serve Ice Cream in a cup. It was ready within 5 mins. The ice cream was delicious! The matcha was a little bitter, the Ube was milky, neither flavor was too sweet, and it was topped with matcha powder. All in all, the two flavors mixed really well with each other. We'll definitely be back to try their cones. read more

First time here, there are so many choices! Their soft serve machine was down so I didn't get to try it but I did try the matcha yogurt frapp and it was delicious. The first sip though, I wasn't sure if I liked it but the more I drank it, the better it tasted. Yogurt was tangy not sweet. No line when I went. Easy ordering at the kiosk. Bathroom was clean and parking is plenty. Decor is clean and modern, minimal. Wish they had tables inside but looks like it's more for to-go. There are benches but I feel like it's geared more for waiting on your drink than for social sitting. Nice mural on the wall. Can't wait to try their soft serve next time! read more
One of the hottest Matcha place in DFW, and it was a hit. Matcha is delicious, plus the Ube is one of the best in town. Quick service even they are super busy. Cute little shop next to Haidilao, perfect dessert after hot pot. Great location! read more
Been here twice and really enjoy their matcha drinks. You can opt for oat milk and their drinks are not overly sweet. While their lines can get long, they have plenty of staff to make drinks and your wait time is not bad. Both times we ordered 7 drinks and didn't even wait 10 minutes. Place is clean, a couple of tables in a covered area offer seating, and their matcha is delicious! read more

New matcha place in Frisco, be prepared to wait for on line. As this business is currently in 'soft opening' I feel that the service and food isnt perfected yet. I ordered a strawberry matcha which tasted a bit watery. I expect the service to get better once the hype is over. read more
Walking in it was quite busy, people at each kiosk, and sitting at the benches or outside the store. The ambiance was calm even with all the people, its a nice location with a beautiful fountain outside, the iced matcha and matcha ice cream was perfect during these hot summer days. I would recommend to matcha lovers and those wanting to give matcha a try. read more

I went to the soft opening of the new premium matcha cafe maiko in Frisco. They had a 15% soft opening deal and I was in the area so I thought I would try it. I've tried them before at their location in San Antonio but only the soft serve. This time, I decided to try their matcha latte. They initially told me that they were out of milk but they found a half empty jug later. I got lucky and only had to wait like 10 minutes because I've heard of the line being very long. There's not that much seating inside but there's plenty of tables and areas to sit outside. I thought the matcha latte had a pretty deep matcha flavor and it was pretty smooth. It's a little pricey for the size though. It's not bad but there are other places I'd rather go to for a matcha latte. It's also very far away from me in general. read more

Kept seeing this place on social media and really wanted to give it a try because I love matcha! Honestly though I don't understand the hype. I waited to not go when they just opened on purpose and still had an ehhh experience. It's super tiny inside; definitely can't enjoy just lounging. The menu is rather large however they were out of a lot of items. They happened to not be super busy when I went however I had to wait a bit for my one drink. It was just ok, nothing memorable. Was watered down a lot because I ordered iced and it was like they just poured super hot tea over ice and it just kinda ruined the flavor with the sweetness I had. I may give it another a try months from now just to try other items; but this experience wasn't what I was hoping it to be. read more

I ordered their matcha latte and it was so refreshing! When you order at the self service kiosk, you have the option to make your matcha latte into a float with ice cream or add toppings for an additional charge. The interior has some benches to sit and wait, and there are tables and chairs outside. There are a lot of options on their menu, and I'm excited to try more of what they have! read more
Hands down the best matcha latte in dfw!! Even my friend who absolutely hates matcha liked the one here! They are making their matcha in batches due to the busy soft opening, but it still tastes good. The line can go all the way down to hai di lao entrance, but don't let that stop you from coming since the line goes by extremely fast. The inside is small, so most people sit outside. read more

Went to try their kokuto matcha with ube/matcha float and strawberry matcha. I really liked the regular matcha more than the strawberry based on overall flavor. I felt like they might have put way too much compote in because the matcha flavor wasn't as present in the strawberry matcha latte. Despite it being their grand opening, we didn't wait too long to get our drinks and they came out pretty good so I was pleased. Can't say much about the ambiance since there was way too many people packed in there. I did like their choice of music. read more
