On this visit, I tired a Bootdaddy Concrete and it comes with Andy's vanilla or chocolate frozen custard blended with Oreo®, crème caramel and hot fudge. It was absolutely delicious and it is the perfect blend. Andy's offers a variety of sweet treats from Concretes, Jack Hammers, Sundaes, Splits, Malts, Shakes, Old Fashion Sodas, Floats, Soft Drinks, and Italian Ice. You can't go wrong with some frozen custard! This location is always packed and always busy but have no fear. The line goes quickly! My favorite is the turtle sundae, but I do venture out here and there and try some of their other flavors. I personally always get the small because that's about as much as I can eat, but my body always wants more. It's really good. If you don't wanna sit in line with the cars, you can always walk up to the window. I have yet to meet anyone at this location who is unfriendly or unkind it's always a nice place with nice people. read more

Honestly I wasn't all that impressed with Andy's. They were expensive and didn't impress at all. I've had custard at other places and been much happier. It was so runny here, like their machine wasn't working very well or something. Also, it was weird they made my medium BootDaddy in a large glass, so it looked disappointing since it didn't go all the way to to the rim of the glass. See my picture. Staff were super friendly, which was nice, but didn't make up for the poor experience. Also, even though they don't have inside dining, it might help if they were to put a few picnic tables or benches outside for those ordering at the window, rather than the drive-through. Best ice cream in town. Great service. All their locations tend to be full yet they move that line very fast. Ive had some of their concretes mixes and they are worth every calorie. However I am boring when it comes to ice cream and my favorite is plain vanilla. I always order the small cone with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and if I am feeling naughty I get the waffle cone with 2 scoops of vanilla. Its so good every single time. Its like happiness exploding in my mouth My girls love Andy's as well so its always a treat to go with them and enjoy some delicious ice cream/desserts. Got sick from this location. Mostly enjoyed Andy's before, though melted custard and the kids who work there keeping a sloppy store (and I mean a real mess, food fights and everything) had always been a bit of an issue. Still, the last time I went I asked for a bit of extra hot fudge, which the kids took to mean half fudge and half icecream. Again, just kids. But yesterday they were out of vanilla. I am not a big chocolate custard fan, but we were already there so we tried it. Within 30 minutes to an hour my better half and I were both doubled over with stomach pain, cramping and nausea. This is the fastest I have ever become sick from food, but upon reading other reviews on-line (from websites that report poisoning etc.,) this is common from Andy's or other soft serve icecream/custard places. You have to keep the machines very clean apparently and judging from the state of the store, this is not happening. It was definitely not worth the money nor pain we are still experiencing 12 hours later. We have had an awful night. The custard can be delicious when not melted, but so not worth the risk. read more

I am a big time fan of Andy's Frozen Custard and recommend it to friends and family frequently. I've never had a negative experience until this morning. I ordered my usual concrete and a sample cone for my dog (because she likes Andy's too). The amount of ice cream we got in both was very stingy. I'm used to a concrete where at least the ice cream is above the rim of the cup. Not this this time. And the sample cone had one little dollop in it. After buying from this location since it opened, there is an established norm about what you get for your money, right? Now I get the sample cone is free, but don't create a norm for that either and then short it, please! I was very disappointed because a trip to Andy's is normally one of the little highlights of a day. So I went back to this Andy's yesterday because peach concretes are now in season and the young man that filled my order was excellent. 3.5 stars. The second time was better than the first. Desserts: A little pricey for ice cream/shakes - two small desserts costs about $11. I got a normal oreo milkshake the first time and it tasted like Oreos were crumbled up into a thick mixture of milk and water. However the second time I got a concrete with strawberries and Oreos and it was pretty good - the strawberries didn't seem fresh, but it gave my sweet dessert a bit of a tanginess, which I surprisingly enjoyed! My boyfriend usually gets a plain vanilla malt - he craves Andy's malt at least once a week. Environment: I hate how there's not a menu where you order. The menu is at the beginning of the drive-thru, but you order at the window where you would typically pick up/pay. I haven't experienced their "dine-in". Service: Hit or miss. During our first visit, the girl taking our order barely said anything to us besides the total & then she handed a dripping milkshake to me which melted down onto my hands and the exterior of my car. The staff at all the Andy's i have visited are always very happy and helpful. I also suggest you join the rewards programs to earn free treats! My treat today was a free reward so it tasted even better. I ordered their pictured flavor on the menu of the JitterBug Concrete (for those not familiar this would be like a Blizzard at Dairy Queen but way better). Best custard I have had in awhile, and I come here at least once or twice a week. I'm surprised the employees haven't recognized me by now hah. One of the things I really enjoy is that the menu changes based on the season, and right now they have their Christmas options. My go to currently is the candy cane concrete and I like to add Oreos to it. My dad and brother both got the eggnog shake (btw they make it fresh hourly!), and they both were huge fans of it. Usually, I get the Boot Daddy, which consists of caramel, Oreo, and hot fudge yum! Prices can get $$$$$, especially if you compare it to the Sonic next door. A small concretes/shakes can be about $5, so if you bring a family of 4, that is at least $20. However, servings are big, and the small size is plenty enough for me. They do have cheaper options, which include custard in a cup/cone for $1.19. I've really been craving custard in a cone dipped in chocolate btw. However, be a part of their loyalty program! Ask for a loyalty card and you can activate it online for free. Each time you go, you can get points per dollar you spend. If you spend $50, you get a $5 treat. It may not be much, but it is way better than nothing. This location is in a great location! It is next to apartments, the tollway, shopping centers, and the FC Dallas soccer fields. There is ample parking and easy to find and get there. One downside is that even though it is in a great location, there is no indoor seating. There are benches, and it is enjoyable to sit outside when the weather is nice. However, it can be cumbersome if it is in the middle of the summer or winter because we usually drive back home or just eat in the car. The business is also very well run. They seem to be very well staffed, so you do not have to wait long for your dessert most of the time. There was 1 time I went recently that I had to wait a little longer than usual, but I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind. We ordered a peanut butter cup and brownie concrete and we got a Reece's pieces, but when it was handed to us the girl said it was peanut butter cup and brownie - nope! I love this place! The employees ALWAYS have a smile on their face at every Andy's I've been to and of course this one seems to be following the same pattern. The frozen custard treats are amazing. You have no idea how food custard can be until you try this place. This is a top quality custard and my fat ass knows good custard! They have an extensive menu and They have specials that they add based on the season. Right now those specials are Peaches and Key Lime Pie. It has espresso in it and almonds it was a great back up. So I knew when I ordered it I would soon be told we don't have that anymore, So very confidently I ordered the Keylime pie and they took my order and I just knew any moment I was going to be told they don't have it anymore and to my surprise I was served a Keylime pie so it turns out that as these people run out of this temporary item The only place you'll find it is those who still have the product in stock Anyways I know I turn this into a Keylime pie review but the bottom line is don't go to this place for Keylime it is all mine. Strangely ice cream is not my dessert of choice but I will make an exception for Andy's custard. It reminds me of the little soft serve ice cream spot in the little Podunk country town where I grew up in Ohio but waaaaay creamier. My go-to is always the hot fudge sundae. The ratio of hot fudge to custard is not quite up to par so make sure you ask for extra fudge. My husband loves the concretes with caramel, pecans and chocolate. The drive thru makes it convenient but it's also nice to get out and enjoy your dessert on the premises.
