I go to Bahama bucks every other day for my same order. Granted I have a favorite location where they know me and my order. They are always very friendly and accommodating. But I happened to be working in mesa and I seen this location was less than a mile from my job so I decided to pop in. I expected the same service I always get when I visit my Laveen location but unfortunately I did not. So I get Everest with Piccadilly with chili salt on the side which has NEVER been a problem because that is free and included in the Piccadilly. So I asked for some chili salt on side and instead of inquiring what I meant I was immediately met with no that's a waste of product, I then explained to him I am regular customer at Bahama bucks and I get the same order every time and it's NEVER been an issues. And he had all these reasons why he couldn't do it. First it was the cost of the cup then it was waste of product then it was he's only allowed to give this much then he offered to put more on top to which I explained I put it on which I'm eating it. He then help up a cup of how much he could give and I said that's about how much they give. He then said "oh I can do that, I thought you wanted me to fill the entire cup up" and I responded absolutely not but nor did you ask me how much. He just seemed to want to say no or find a reason why he didn't want to do that. And I had already tipped them but I so regret giving the tip because I felt like I had to beg and barter to get my order that I always get. So much so that I'm writing and review because I'm headed to Bahama bucks now and I remember my last visit and how crappy it was read more

Been going to this location for about two years now when I finally acquired the taste for Bahama Bucks. It has taken my family and friends over a decade to convince me to give Bahamas Bucks another try. I finally acquired the taste and for the last two years, I drive with my kids to this location and satisfy our sweet tooth. Today's service however was absolutely unacceptable. To start off, there was one car ahead when we arrived WAITING on their order. I waited for a few minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there. I quickly placed my order & drove up. The wait was longer than expected-little over 10 minutes. It was during that wait, I realized I wanted a strawberry smoothie added to my order. Rather than reverse back to the intercom (no cars behind at all), I would let them know at the window. So when I finally got to the window, I paid & told the girl at the window that I wanted to order one more smoothie. At this time, a car had finally pulled up to order behind me and she told me that I had to drive back to the intercom and place my order. At this point I was already frustrated because as a paying customer, service was already horrible with the long wait. I reiterated to the cashier that there was no one behind me the entire time I waited and the car had just pulled up and they were still placing their order. I just wanted to add one smoothie to my order. She stated it was store policy that I would have to drive around to order to which I replied that there is no such posting on their drive through menu of such policy. She rudely replied and said, "It doesn't have to be posted! The owner is here if you want to talk to him." Which I agreed too. After a few minutes, he finally approached me at the window. I reiterated my frustrations and without any type of concern, he states, "You need to drive around and place your order because we don't want to keep our customers waiting." ‍ I told him again the entire time I waited behind the one car that was already PARKED at the pick-up window, there was no one behind me and the car behind me just pulled up. He said, "It's our store policy! If you don't like it, you can always go somewhere else." This business does not need your support. The kids that work at night are rude as well. I have been going for my smoothies and ignored their rude attitude. Now I know they reflect the behavior of the owner/family member. I should have just asked for a refund and took my business and treat my kids to some Snow. Rude. Never again. Billion dollar corporations go out of their way to keep their customers happy, Bahama Bucks can learn some CS skills from them If you have not tried Asian snow, it's to die for. The only convenience with BB is their drive-thru but there are so many options in Mesa. If this BB owner was smart, he would take three minutes to make one more smoothie but the opted to lose a customer and many more with more competitors opening up in Mesa. Came in today with my seven person family. I love Bahama Bucks and was excited to bring in my visiting East Coast family. I go often to the Chandler location and think Jeff Shaw is a great business owner. In my order of seven, my young daughter's order got mixed up and it ended up being blue raspberry and red raspberry instead of sour blue raspberry and sour red raspberry. No big deal and I have been working on my daughter's confidence anyway so I sent her up to just explain the mix up and get the correct order. The employee said that she didn't say sour and he would not fix it unless she paid. She came back to the table nervous and said they wouldn't fix it. I went up and asked if they could help. They said I could buy a fixed cup at 1/2 the price and I asked to speak to the manager, Ryan Cooper. He reiterated the 1/2 price offer. I told him my daughter had said sour and he said that his employer said she didn't and he believes him. I walked back to the table and let my daughter it wasn't going to work out. I am not sure why I had the incident I had today because I think the guarantee of losing my business is way more costly than the one small cup. Mmmmmm...just thinking about this place makes my mouth water! I always get the shaved ice here, so that's what I'll review. First of all, a shaved ice is a great treat to have when you're watching your weight...225 calories (add 75 for tropic creme) for a small one & it hits the spot! The small isn't really small either...it's a tiny mountain of fluffy, frozen, sugary goodness. I like that if you want something smaller a "baby" size is available :) (169 calories). They also have sugar-free options. Lots of flavors to choose from...I love to get 2 flavors side-by-side, usually pineapple & coconut. This location, unlike others I've been to, has a drive-thru which is nice, but if there are cars ahead of you be prepared to wait awhile. I believe they close at 10:30 pm. The only drawback (like another poster mentioned) is it's in a pretty ghetto area. read more

This is the best place! Out of all of the east valley locations this one is the best. They typically have flavors that the other locations don't. Polar berry and strawberry or lime is divine. If you ask for your snow to go they put it in a larger cup so it doesn't melt in the car. There is a loyalty card -10 punch gets one free and there is opportunity for double and triple punches if it's cold out. Closed on Sundays is the only negative. read more

WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I JUST EAT? Also, why have I not eaten this before? Our little one was so patient for 2+ hours in the MVD, so we came here to get him a treat (based on previous Yelp reviews). The intention was: pop in, get the kid something cool and sugary, slip out. Seeing the menu, the restaurant, and speaking to the staff, my wife and I knew that we had to try this treat out, as well. First, any staff that goes out of their way to recommend samples and offer alternatives is okay in my book. After an intense interrogation of the poor cashier, we ordered a Snickerdoodle on ice cream, a Birthday Cake, and a creamy Strawberry/Banana for the midget. Anyone that has tried their shaved ice knows that they absolutely blew us away. Now, I've eaten many snow cones while out on the beach during summer vacations, etc. but those were distinctly crushed ice + flavored liquid and the inconsistent ratio between the top tip of pure ice and the bottom puddle of syrup was just something I had learned to be an inherent part of the shaved ice experience. BOY, was I wrong! The "Sno" from Bahama Buck's is incredibly fine, and the flavoring is spot-on. Way back when (and I mean waaaay back) I used to go to Bahama Bucks A LOT with my dad and sister when they had a location on Mill Ave. After that location closed (or moved) BB just kind of fell off our radar. We knew they had opened other locations, but they were further away and we just kind of moved on. Recently my dad had heard about this location and he goes here quite a bit now with my mom and sister. Over the past six months or so he has been in and out of the hospital quite a bit (he's now on the up & up) and a lot of what he's been through has affected his taste buds and ability to swallow (for now...things are getting back to normal), so this this place has been a godsend for him. When I was in town for the Christmas holiday we came here twice, and it was as good as I remembered. This is not just any kind of shaved ice. It's very fine (no big chunks of ice) so you can really taste whatever flavor(s) you get and it doesn't taste real "icy." Speaking of flavors, this place has a TON (I'm guessing close to 100), with everything from your basic fruit flavors to wedding cake and sun devil (ask them to describe it). In addition, several flavors are sugar-free. They also have smoothies, and although I've never tried one they look and sound delicious! Yeah, the place is located in strip mall (I honestly don't know this area very well. However, you can tell it's not quite Scottsdale, but it's not south Phoenix either), but the actual place itself is nice with plenty of seating. There is drive-thru and they also do punch cards (buy so many get one free). Despite the fact this place isn't real close to my parents house and there are plenty of places that have icees or some kind of variation of shaved ice in the Phoenix area I would make the extra effort to come to Bahama Bucks because it really is THAT good! read more

Great place! Their snow cones are so soft. It's like you are eating fresh snow. They have so many different flavors to choose from. I also like that they have low fat flavors too. Since it is so hot you can buy actual snowballs to throw at all of your friends!! You can buy 2 different sizes. I just found today that you can buy a full service kit that has the snow, cups, little flags and spoons. How awesome is that. This can be used for parties. I had a serious craving for Bahama Bucks and knew there was a location closer to me than the one out on Power Rd so I had to check it out. I'm never in this immediate area and there is a lot of road construction going on. It was still relatively easy to get to. First impression...why are all the people behind the counter just staring at me and why does it smell like pee in here? Gross. Ordered some shaved ice. Dreamcicle for me. Cherry and Cream Soda for the kids. Mine didn't have a whole lot of flavor but was still alright. Kids loved theirs of course. This locations has a drive thru and that was pretty amusing. It doesn't move too quickly, but neither do the kids working inside so that makes sense. I would rather go the location on Power, but I'm sure I will return to this one. I hadn't been here since I was a kid....but it is just as good now as it was then... if not better! I got a baby size coconut and strawberry daquri with cream and it was ridiculous! Horrible customer service at this location caused me to give up on them all. I will no longer spend money at Bahama Bucks! Was a weekly customer until my wife, son, and I purchased shaved ice that tasted very off (it was disgusting and we all had to throw them away.) I called and let them know what had happened and they offered to replace my order. I went there a couple days later and they denied my replacement order and even getting a refund. I asked to have a manager call me and he did, he let me know that he couldn't remake my order for my family. Eventually after wasting much of my time on the phone he agreed to add the purchases onto the crap app they have. This never happened. So I called about a month later asking to speak with the manager again so he could add the points as promised. I got a call about a month after that saying that too much time had passed and he couldnt remember what he had promised me, even though he seemed to be very familiar with our phone call after some reminding. He then said that there is nothing he can do. I asked to speak to his boss and told me he didnt have a boss...he said "My family owns this place, I am the highest manager you can speak to" after asking for a call from the owner so I could let them know about my expierence. He sounded like a spoiled brat very rude and unprofessional. What an absolute joke of a company and complete waste of my time! This isn't your average shaved ice place. It is AMAZING. My favorite summer treat and it makes great leftovers too! There's so many flavor options and you're always met with friendly staff. They even have options for people who are sugar free which is great. The ice is shaved super finely, unlike anywhere else. It's kind of like eating flavored freshly fallen snow. I LOVE this place. I practically lived here after having surgery a few weeks ago.... the shaved ice was one of the only things I could eat. Shaved ice is very watery. The place is also closed on Sunday so it's technically not a legitimate business. Or it's the ice melting day where all of their "shaved ice" turns into a water slushy. The location on Warner and Cooper truly represents the Bahama bucks brand and stays open on Sunday as well! Waiting for the next health inspection to hopefully close this place down soon! read more

My fiancé came to get me a smoothie on his way home since I'm at home with our newborn son and I was craving a Coconut Kulana something fierce. He has never been to a Bahama Buck's and I have always gone on and on about how good they are, so he decided he would try something there, as well. When he got to the drive-thru, he ordered my drink and then felt very rushed as he was trying to look at the menu to decide what he wanted, so he just ordered mine and moved forward to the window. While he was waiting for someone to take his payment, he thought he'd go ahead and try an Orange Cruiser, and when the young lady took his card, he asked if he go ahead and add a small smoothie. The girl very curtly told him that since there was a car behind him, she could not add anything to his order and took his card. He would have been fine pulling forward and waiting or even being asked to come inside and wait, since he did add the drink after the initial order and wouldn't want another customer to wait on his account, but that wasn't offered to him, at all and he was dismissed very quickly. I love Bahama Buck's and this was our first time trying this location since it's the closest to our house, but I'll take the extra time to go to another one further away if it means they'll take an extra moment to be polite and helpful to all of their customers. read more
