Never knew about life time warranty until last month, one of the window cracked. We didn't have any receipt or anything, just an email we did 14 years ago. We just contacted the company on their website and amazingly, they have the record by the address. The service department was so helpful, they contacted us and contacted the manufacturer to set up appointment with the case number to get it replaced. The windows were replaced 14 years ago in one day and we had many custom sized windows. The amazing thing is they know exactly which window that cracked by us describing the location of the window. Anlin Delmar (Milgard) called us and setup the appointment. They came and replaced the windows in a few hours. It was amazing and we're extremely happy. Now we know, go with the best and reputable company like Custom Exteriors and a good manufacturer like Anlin Delmar to have after service years after the work is done. Finally, we decided to do it and we started looking at doors in the neighborhood and asked folks about who installed their doors. We were surprised at how many of these folks had used Elegant Door & Window and were, obviously, very pleased with their work. They used to be located in Dublin but moved to San Ramon near the Brass Door. This is a small family-run business. Mary, the wife runs the office and Matt, her husband does the estimates and runs the crew that do the install work. We found Mary to be low-key but very helpful. We liked that she did not push us toward any specific products. She let us take our time in choosing the door of our choice. Everything went smoothly. We chose the doors (unfinished, solid wood, double doors) and Matt came out to check what we had and Mary sent us a quote by email and followed up to see if we had any questions. Later, we confirmed our choice on the door and after a few weeks, Mary called to tell us that our doors had arrived from the factory and proceeded to schedule out the job. The installation was quick and flawless. The workmanship is First Class and they were done in less than a full day. The fit was perfect and we were very very pleased. I walked in not knowing much about windows. Mike patiently answered all of my questions. Once I decided on Marvin Ultimate windows, Mike worked in a very detailed and organized way to get the proper measurements from my window installer and to finalize the many design decisions that I needed to make. This was a huge purchase and I appreciated how much time Mike took to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. After the window order, Mike worked with me for months to order the other materials. He also took great care. For example, he helped me order custom pocket doors with stile and rail sizes that match my other interior doors. He helped me problem solve. For example, the bottom of my interior doors needed to get cut because of my contractor's framing and Mike explained how I could do that without damaging the door. Overall, Dolan Lumber and Mike were invaluable for my whole house remodel. The difference between Dolan and other stores is that Dolan will respectfully and carefully work with you to get you what you want.

Unfortunately, when the delivery date started to roll around, I was notified that there was a delay, and that delivery would actually take another month. Disappointed for sure, especially since there was no explanation. When the door finally came, it was first delivered to their preferred paint shop, Sal at Limitless Painting. Then, after Sal was done, he delivered to my house. After that, the next day, one of Dolan's recommended installers came to install, Sead. Door was installed on that day. Then Sal came back to do touch up around the trim, etc. Sal and Sead were top notch. Great to work with, great work. Mike at Dolan's was also easy to work with and gave good advice. The only reason it's 4, not 5, stars is because of the 1 month delay with no real explanation. Other than that, smooth transaction overall, and we're very happy with the result.

I wanted a solid wood door and wanted to re-use the glass in the current door. As well, I wanted to…read morestain the door myself as there would be two different stains on each side and as well, I wanted to finish with a specific sealer and do multiple coats-call me a control freak. Tony and Teo provided me with some samples, and took out the existing glass, fabricated the door, brought it back for me to finish-even lent me the saw horses to hold the door while I stained and sealed it. They then came back and installed the door using my existing hardware as well. They did an excellent job of installing new inter-locking weather stripping. Their workmanship, their accommodating my requests and attention to detail and downright friendliness was more than I ever expected. Do yourself a favor if you need a new door-call these guys-you will be oh so glad you did.
