Fish taco and shrimp taco....or just a pile of delicious goodness
    Shirley K.

I stopped by for a quick snack. I really didn't know what I wanted until I had this. I was surprised how delicious it was. I ordered the Friday special, 1 shrimp and 1 fish taco. It was 3:15 PM, but the shrimp and fish were both piping hot when I ate my taco. The chipotle dressing with all the cabbage and Pico is just how I like it. The shrimps were especially juicy and plump, cooked perfectly. I tried it with the red and green salsa. Both were delicious and not too spicy. There was an orange habanero one for people who want more heat. The tortilla chips, onions, and pepper were all included and added at the end when they ask you how much sauce to put on the tacos. This was a very scrumptious surprise, and I'm glad I stopped by. I think I found a new fish taco place!

    Cheese enchiladas

Excellent food! Had the cheese enchiladas and they were delicious! Staff is super friendly!

    That great it's almost gone.

It's a must try the shrimp tacos on point. Staff are also amazing wet kind and your experience will be great.

Pretty good and flavorful tacos, but horrible experience. Don't come during dinner! The only thing that made this experience un-enjoyable was that we came around 6:40 P.M. The staff were all eating dinner and just starred at us when we walked in. We thought the place was closed. However, the lady took our order and didn't understand what we were ordering. Based on the menu, I thought you're supposed to choose your wrap, toppings, then meat (like chipotle style). The lady made it seem like it's a one-choice-for-all (tortilla only) and didn't even ask me what I wanted on my tacos. It was so confusing! The lady seemed so annoyed when we ordered more food. I think she wanted to go back to having dinner with her coworkers. The super fries were okay.. soggy and cold... carnitas was dry. We decided to eat at the restaurant and the staff was SO loud! It was so awkward. They kept starring at us. They didn't have any napkins out. We asked what time they closed and they stated 8 P.M. LoL really?! How are you going to be so obnoxiously loud when customers are there and you're not even closed yet? Crazy...

Fish tacos, enchilada plate and 1 potato taco

SO DELICIOUS !! Been looking for a good Mexican food place close to home and I have found it ! Definitely will be back.

Lack of service and letting people go to cash register and pay before the people waiting in line to order is not acceptable.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

Can I say bad-ass? I just realized my entire review is about their merch...This time I got the curry chicken sandwich. I initially got it because curry chicken sandwiches always have a sweet element and most places do raisins or apples. Here, they did peach, and I was like, 'damn. I want to try this.' But when I bit into it, the star of the freaking show was the peppercini!! What!??! That vinegary balance with a tiny kick. Mmmm, yeah. Super good that I ate way too much in one sitting.

Sandwiches are quite large, big enough to split between 2 people if I'm being honest, but nothing I would complain about. Egg salad was great, never felt heavy despite how large it was, but I also enjoyed the Uptown Club, thickly stacked with each component but felt wholly balanced with whatever was pickled and the tomato. I did find the meatball side to be simultaneously too salty and too sweet, even though you would figure these would cancel out. I did enjoy the looseness of the actual meatball, and the crispy shallots on top were a wonderful addition. Would love to revisit, would be a perfect pit stop for any picnic or lunch occasion.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with exceptional customer service from Angie. She was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel valued as customers. It's not every day that you come across someone who is not only friendly but also takes the time to make your experience feel personal and enjoyable. As for the food it was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. After working up an appetite on the trail, this meal hit the spot. The ingredients were vibrant, the portions were generous, and every bite was packed with flavor. Ambiance inside was a 10/10 but it was a nice day so we decided to eat outside. Between the outstanding food and Angie's wonderful customer service, this visit exceeded our expectations. Employees like Angie are the reason customers come back. We'll definitely be returning to this Whittier location soon!

There are some things I'd like to mention that have already been said in other reviews, if you just scroll down. The portion sizes are ridiculous compared to other Cava locations I've been to. It's almost like a joke to even serve the sorry a** bowls that they do. Make no mistake--this is not the workers' fault. I feel like a lot of the heat gets placed on the workers, but they're only doing what is required of them. It's the managers, the boss, and the team that comes by to train the workers to serve a specific amount of each ingredient. This is a slap in the face. You're playing with people who work hard for their money, giving them ridiculous portions at full price, all to pocket more money. I know there's someone from the business side of Cava on here who responds to these reviews telling us to submit further critiques on their website, but what good is that doing if you still haven't listened to the concerns of your customers and changed the portion sizes? It angers me because I see what this business is doing, and they're doing it right in front of our faces while the workers take the heat, all for extra profit. I'm not f***ing with it. I'm passionate about this review because this feels like straight-up robbery of people's money, and this location does not care. PLEASE GO TO A DIFFERENT CAVA until this one actually listens to its customers and makes changes.

We tried each of the other businesses that are east of the Home Depot. We tried Shoe City (we thought we were a shoo-in), "Sorry, we don't have a restroom." What? We tried Subway nextdoor , "No we don't either." We tried ANB Japanese Grill around the corner, "No dice." We know they have employee restrooms--they can't just hold it all in for 8 hours--they just don't want to set a precedent? I was seriously considering begging the nearby residents and giving them money for a chance for relief when I saw the Popeye's to the west. We got over there and they were open, and the guy in the driveup window with the employee (we were on foot) said, "Sure, just go around the other side. We did, and my wife got into their employee restroom just in time. They were so nice. My wife offered them money for the trouble but they politely refused. I don't care about any negative reviews.
