Great spot! Loved my martini and spicy rigatoni with chicken. It's on the pricey side but the ambiance is fun and the whole menu looked great! Would definitely come back!

Came here last night and had a phenomenal time. The service was great, the host was kind and asked us about our days. Our waitress checked on us consistently and made sure we were happy and never needed refills. I wish I had gotten her name because she was great! Everyone there was kind and helpful! The food was amazing. The Chilean Sea Bass here is my favorite!! I dream of their whipped potatoes. Also, by far the best place to get butter cake. It was soooo good. The espresso martini was the perfect amount of sweetness that I had to have two. Overall the food was spectacular and always is! This location is so cute and has a nice beachy vibe. We will definitely be back!!!

NICK's What an Orange County staple. I had been requesting a location closer to me for yearssss. It's about time we got one in the Newport beach / Irvine / costa Mexico zone. Ain't nobody got time to go to Laguna, San Clemente. Or manhattan beach. This happens to also be my favorite location because the overall vibe, aesthetic / space but especially because of the service and hospitality provided here. Cheers. Oh yea and the whole menu is good. Not one bad item.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. I had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be visiting again soon. Thank you!

My 4.5 yr old son and I enjoy going out to dinner but I'm occasionally stuck with where we can go that isn't a place we eat all the time. I called up Nick's to find out if they had anything for kids and they have an unpublished kids' menu. The choices we were offered for the kids menu included: grilled chicken, chicken fingers, salmon, mini ribs, mini steak, buttered noodles and a grilled cheese sandwich. All options included carrots and French fries. In addition to the kids meal, my son and I shared the asparagus fries. He loved them. I loved them. They were very tasty with the buttermilk ranch. I also ordered the Chilean sea bass which came with a salty spinach salad with almond slivers, mashed potatoes and a little bit of burre blanc sauce, although it was thin and could use more. Overall, it was a tasty meal and service was good. I taught the hosts why you don't seat a 4 yr old in a high table (fall risk) so we were seated immediately at a normal table. We'll likely come back next time we need a change from our usual rotation of restaurants.

My daughters took me Nick's for my birthday dinner a few nights ago. I really enjoyed the new location at Newport Beach...we sat at the patio. Their staff was super friendly and greeted us the second d we walked in and took us to our table becasue we had reservations otherwise we would have to wait because they are usually busy. It's a beautiful place, great food and our server was amazing... shout out to James. Definitely will go back again..

What else is there to do on a sunny afternoon in Newport Beach!? An impromptu lunch with my girl of course! Service by Larissa was excellent and she provided great recommendations. We decided to order the shrimp taquitos, spicy tuna with rice, bistro salad with salmon and their delicious cucumber collins which actually isn't on the menu anymore but the bar can still make it. Everything was exceptional aside from parking but this is definitely a solid place for fresh food and great ambience.

Delicious steak with the blue cheese...makes my mouth watery just thinking it. Highly recommended.

We had a girls night here - we don't get together often but when we do we try to pick out fun places. Nick's was absolutely amazing. The drinks were wonderful. It's a lively atmosphere, but still quiet enough to talk. We got the Coco Rita, Hugo Spritz and an Old Fashioned. For dinner crispy rice with spicy tuna appetizers (a must) and the prime dip and salmon (perfectly cooked) and a salad. Everything was delicious. A shared butter cake for dessert (another must). The unexpected highlight about our evening was our server Kirby - she was the best waitress we've ever had (not exaggerating). She was personal and funny and kept us laughing the whole night. She was just what our mom's night needed. Thanks Kirby. Wish you could have sat down and joined us. Nick's - she is a gem of a human being and makes your restaurant shine.

Great variety across the entire meal. We started with the zucchini fries, regular fries, and spicy tuna crispy rice. The fries were perfectly crisp and the crispy rice had a great mix of textures. For mains, we ordered the ribeye melt, spicy rigatoni, and the bistro plate that came w filet mignon and tomato bisque. Each dish was unique and well done, which made sharing fun. The patio atmosphere is really cute and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a solid spot that I would definitely return to.

Solid, as you would expect from Nick''s. Excellent service, beautiful people (except for me!), fantastic food. Brutal parking - they don't validate valet - get there early or look for street parking not too far away. Or pay the valet fee. Huge covered patio. I got the blackened fish sandwich. Really delicious. But way too messy with the coleslaw. I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. My colleague had the chicken sandwich which looked excellent. See photos.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Nick's last week. We started with Stephanie who was covering for a server on break. Then our server came and introduced herself. I can't remember her name but it started with a C I think. They were both great servers and gave amazing recommendations! All the food was delicious, but you HAVE to try their French Onion Soup. The vibe was very good too. Busy enough to have all tables occupied, but not too packed to where you can't walk in and have to reserve in advance. We came late on a Saturday though. We live closer to Pasadena and will have to check out that location next. But if we're ever in Newport again, we'll be back!

Amazing vibes, food, and service! They have valet parking, but if you're lucky you can find parking in the small lot, or street parking behind the restaurant. French Dip 10/10. Super tender and juicy, and the au jus is chefs kiss. The french fries were a little undercooked but I've been to the Pasadena location and it was not. Must have been an off day but all good. Bread 10/10. Not on the menu but this is what they had when we asked for bread and butter. It was amazing! the inside of the bread is pre-soaked in garlic butter. Bistro Plate 8/10. I love small portions with variety in general so this was perfect. The filet was just ok, but the salad was amazing. The soup of the day was creamy french onion, it was good but it might be an acquired taste that I haven't acquired. I didn't love it as much as I would have liked tomato soup. Overall great experience. We'll likely re-order the french dip, bread, and a full salad in the future!

The menu has always been unique, and everything was consistently delicious. The ambiance has always been five stars. The reason we stopped coming had nothing to do with the food. Our dinner bills were often over $2,000, and then we'd still have to pay expensive parking on top of that. Spending that much on dinner and then getting hit with a huge parking fee just felt rude. On top of that, the service had become painfully slow, so we eventually stopped coming. Recently, we decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. Parking is much more reasonably priced now, and the service was absolutely outstanding. I'm not sure if it was because it was the Fourth of July and things weren't too busy, but everyone took amazing care of us. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and for the birthday celebration they brought out the spectacular candles that looked more like fireworks. It made the night even more memorable. We'll definitely be coming back. My only wish is that they'd bring back my favorite dessert--the beautiful blue passion fruit dessert. It was truly a work of art and, in my opinion, one of the best desserts in town. I'd order it every single visit if they brought it back.

The spicy rigatoni was excellent, with great heat without overpowering the sauce. The double baked potato was rich and indulgent, exactly what you want from a side like that, the creme it had was the best. The steak fried rice was tasty, but it's served in a hot cauldron-style bowl that kept cooking the rice after it hit the table. By the time I worked through it, a good portion had gone crispy/overcooked. It might be worth asking for a regular bowl next time. My one other note: the music didn't quite match the ambiance. SET has this polished, upscale coastal vibe, and the playlist felt a little out of step with that, not bad at all, just mismatched. Still, overall solid food and a nice place overall. I'll be back to try the steak. Service was great as well even with no reservation.

I celebrated my birthday here last year with 15 of my girlfriends, and the events team was impeccable. They worked seamlessly with my vendors, coordinating the delivery of candles and balloons, and had my table beautifully set up when we arrived. Overall, the restaurant feels dated and lacks the energy and polish you'd expect at this price point. For a special occasion, the experience felt pretty lackluster. We immediately called the restaurant and were told that a manager would contact us the following day to resolve the issue. We never received that call, so my husband had to follow up himself. Even after explaining that the charge was clearly not ours, we were told we would have to wait while they determined whose bill it actually belonged to. The restaurant made the mistake, yet instead of reversing the incorrect charge immediately, they expected us to wait while they sorted out their own billing error. As a result, we had to put our credit card on hold and spend a large part of our afternoon on the phone trying to resolve an issue that should never have been our responsibility. It's unfortunate because our anniversary dinner was otherwise a great experience. However, the lack of urgency and poor customer service in handling such a significant billing error overshadowed the evening. Because of how this situation was handled, we will not be returning.

We also checked out the rooftop afterward. It's mostly tables and lounge seating, but the ocean view from up there is definitely worth seeing. I ordered the lobster roll ($32.50). Unfortunately, there wasn't much lobster for the price. Looking at it without the lettuce (and even next to my sunglasses for perspective), it felt pretty skimpy. The lobster itself was tender, and the toasted roll was good, but I expected a lot more filling for what it cost. The fries were crispy, and the herb dipping sauce was a nice addition. We also shared the Spicy Tuna Stack. It wasn't really spicy unless you happened to get a piece of red Thai chili in your bite. There was more mayo than needed, which made the dish a bit bland overall. The sweet pickles underneath added an unexpected sweetness that actually worked well, and the crispy rice was my favorite part. Still, it wasn't something I could eat much of because the flavors became a little too rich and one-dimensional. The Goat Cheese Artichoke Blossoms were good, though a bit bland. They were crispy and enjoyable but could have used a little more seasoning to make them stand out. Overall, Jolie is a nice place to grab a drink and enjoy the views, but the food didn't quite live up to the prices. If I'd come back it would be for the atmosphere, but I'd probably order something different next time.
