Not the friendliest service but she got the job done. The freshness is evident here. Cost, so-so (dislike chains with set menu costs) I made the error of craving shrimp and wanting it as my option for my quesadilla. Shrimp, fish, etc does not go with cheese! And there was a lot of cheese. Had to wait awhile for it to be made, but at least it was cooked to order. I would rather wait for fresh. On the take out plate was gooped on sour cream beside the guac. A few chips were planted beside that and the cut quesadilla was lumped on top of it all. A bit of a mess. I did get a few items at the salsa bar, great options for sides there at no extra cost. Well, of course built into the cost of your meal! The team working on Sunday, April 18th at 1pm did a great job under pressure with hungry customers and a line out the door! My mobile order was ready on time and the cashiers were very friendly and helpful when I ordered an extra side of grilled wahoo (my 9 year olds favorite!). Special thanks to the Cook who was the only one but he didn't miss a beat getting all the orders out as fast as he could (he deserves a raise!). My family loves ordering and coming to this Baja Fresh at least one a week because of the fresh food and friendly service. When walking it the establishment it was clean and no one inside so the staff was cleaning. We ordered our food very easily the girl was nice. The salsa bar was off to the side and had all their signature salsa out even mango salsa which I never saw before. We got our food got home the food was good and it probably would have been excellent if it was hot. We live 5 minutes away their is no way for our food get to be luck warm when eating. 4:60 pm I walked into Baja with a $5 burrito coupon. I asked the girl at the counter, can be put on a plate and I would pay the additional 1.79. She said it's just for the burritos. I told her yes I want to order a burrito and put on a plate with sauce. Then she said oh you mean a bowl?? I said no on a plate with sauce like they always do it. So then I asked for a black bean burrito with everything on it I don't eat meat just all the veggies. She asked me which one. What's everything mean? "No can openers" "No freezers" "No lard" "No MSG". Okay, we get it already. This place is healthy and quick - Mexican food without the guilt. They offer a variety of options: burritos, tacos, bowls, fajitas, quesadillas, nachos, even salads, I ordered the Baja Bowl with grilled chicken, rice, black beans, roasted veggies (red and green peppers and tomatoes), cilantro and salsa verde. The gentleman waiting on me asked if I'd like some chips while I waited and then gave me a scoop of them for free. I headed over to the salsa bar which had five different salsas: Salsa Molcajete (Hot!), Salsa 6 Chiles (Hot!), Salsa Baja (Medium), Salsa Mango (Mild), and Salsa Verde (Medium) plus Pico De Gallo (Medium), jalapeños, cilantro, and banana peppers. (Pro tip - there are sliced limes over by the soda fountain. I'd barely finished my first salsa laden chip (I opted to mix the Pico de Hallo with the Salsa 6 Chiles) when the little handheld remote buzzed to tell me my order was ready. I headed back to the salsa bar to doctor my bowl up, too. I was pleased to find large chunks of tender moist chicken and plenty of vegetables in my bowl. It was quite tasty and A LOT of food for über $8.00! Definitely more bang for my buck! PS - as I was getting up to leave, one of the workers walked over and asked if he could bus my table. Unimpressed. It's 11:48 a.m. the place is empty except for us and the friend that's been visiting the cook since before we got here. They are being very loud, laughing and chatting it up and it's a really unpleasant. Food came out just thrown together. Apparently it was interrupting his chat time. Ordered the Baja shrimp burrito and there was a chunk about a quarter size of the avocado in the center of the burrito and it was hard a a rock and there was so much pico de gallo, that's all I tasted. Chips were stale, but the salsa and guacamole was good. Restaurant smelled like sour rags were used to wipe surfaces down in the back seating area so we moved to the front. Floors were dirty with crumbs and paper and tables were dirty and had a sticky film on both the ones we sat at. My husband cleaned them with some of my water and napkins. Wow this place has really gone downhill. I got an ultimo burrito, chips and salsa baja, my kids also got the same burrito. The rice was so mushy it was as like oatmeal. The steak had a weird mealy texture and tasted gamey. the cheese was like cement on the inside of the tortilla the whole thing was just aweful nothing like i remember those burritos tasting. I'll just be flat out, horrible service. The only reason why I gave two stars was because the food was good. Waited 25 minutes for our order to be cooked. If I would of known how long this would of taken, I might as well went to Apple bees or some other restaurant. Having one chief during a lunch rush? Really? I can't contemplate how that can happen. And I'm not one to complain about things that are out of my control but when workers have their families here, little kids running around without shoes, crying making huge amounts of noise, than that's when I will get frustrated. And i don't know if one of the workers was the owner or manager but please don't serve me food when you hand your employees cigarette right in front of your customers. I am so done with this place! I have literally sat here for 22 minutes watching the worst service I have seen in a while. Apparently they ran out of rice at 7:30 pm. They didn't think to tell the 8 orders waiting (I overheard someone ask about the delay). Rather than apologize or talk to the customers waiting the 4 cooks and 2 associates/managers decided to stand around talking with each other. One customer stood for 5 minutes to address a wrong order with no acknowledgement. Then another customer asked about why the cooks didn't wear gloves for his order. After he left the associates talked about him. I am still waiting as I type this review. I was order 86. Ordered 87 and 88 have come and gone. My 3 tacos and enchiladas took a total of 29 minutes. Placed an order through UberEats, once I got the order I only got part of the order, called the restaurant and they wanted me to go there to get my refund. I ordered at 1:38. We were greeted with an unhappy girl at the front, and 3 of the employees were hanging out. They could have all been on break, but they were with a family that was eating and they were going back and forth working and chatting. That's not a problem, the problem happened when my order never came, I was patient and after everyone else who came after me got their meal and after 30 minutes my wife went and asked if we could have our guacamole while we waited for the rest, and that's when we found out that they lost the ticket. No big deal, a little annoyed but we assumed they would put ours next. About 10 minutes later I went to check on things, and she gave me my wife's meal. There was some discussion, it seems the cook didn't rush out order, so the hostess was frustrated with him and assured me that mine was being made, and said they take like 2 minutes to make. My wife now being frustrated that I didn't have my food, went to go check about 7 minutes later. The cook still didn't make my burrito!!! So my wife went up there and insisted it be made. I ended up getting my burrito just before 2:30. It took almost 1 HOUR to get my burrito. It was a menu item and it didn't even have any meat in it, and when they were basically forced to make it- it was done in almost 1 minute. I am not sure why I was treated this way. My wife and I are always very courteous and clean up after ourselves. It just makes no sense, because at first they claimed to have lost the ticket. That is understandable, but then we had 2 go back 3 more times to get my burrito. You would think that if they realized the customer was waiting 30 minutes and then we realized we lost the ticket, they would work fast to bring me my meal, and not make me keep begging for my lunch. It was very demeaning and I hope the manager sees this and has a discussion with his staff. It's too bad because once I got my food- it looked good and tasted good. read more
