First Time at Tacos Mi Pa. LETS GOOOOO!! They had a nice vibe inside with music, and the interior, the bar, decorations were pretty cool. THE GRUB: I ordered a shrimp burrito, pretty large, but they didn't have many shrimp inside--four shrimp in a whole burrito. Someone in another review said they ran out of shrimp at 3 p.m. on a Saturday, but it was Thursday, so I thought I was safe. GUESS NOT. Putting four shrimp, though tasty, in a $12 burrito is just crazy. Maybe they ran out again. I would have liked for them to tell me that, but I asked the waitress before I ordered, and she said there was a pretty good amount of shrimp in their burritos. I also asked a fellow patron, who said, "I had a really good one here and a really bad one here that I had to send back." Also, there was something crunchy in the burrito. I thought it was tmaybe ortilla chips--nope, it was the rice. Why was the rice crunchy? Did they run out and give me the last of the last for some reason at 6 p.m. on a Thursday? The tortilla was good--not homemade good, but good. The sauce for the shrimp in the burrito was really good, though I wish they would have given me something more to season the raw cabbage inside, which was dry and flavorless.Salsa does not help raw cabbage. No sauce, just dry. 1/5 stars The salsa bar was okay. They definitely need a few more spoons for the toppings because everything was getting mixed together. The spicy salsa and the green sauce were very good as well, but they need to contain the sauces in their containers because everything was spilling over into the next container. Maybe they should rethink this salsa bar idea. It was just not good, though, I gave the other half of it to a college student,(College students love free food just ask em) .. She took a bite and left it there.. Same exact conclusion, not worth eating. I will give it one more try soon. But if it like thisvnext time I probably won't be back for a while. This place is really new, and though hey have a lot of potential, but in my personal opinion, Tacos Mi Pa also has a lot of kinks they need to address before opening this storefront.. It definitely still has taco cart/pop-up tent vibes. Service was friendly and quick. I got my burrito almost too quick, if that's a thing. Maybe that's why the quality lacked a bit. Anyway, I'll be back,in a few months, they should be better, but I won't recommend the shrimp burrito to anyone. They also own Aye Mi Pa which unfortunately has the same criticism.. I will however go see for myself..

What a cute place this new addition is to the Bakersfield restaurant scene. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown. With a festive interior & Traditional Mexican music playing in the background you know you're in for some tasty food. They have beer on tap and bottled beer to quench your thirst in the Bakersfield heat! You can play a tune on the juke box or watch a little TV. I ordered a taco de Cameron, an Al Pastor taco and the Elote corn. My meal was so fresh and tasty. The Cameron was succulent & juicy. The Al Pastor had a delicious marinade and was tender & moist. The crunch of the sweet crisp Elote corn had a generous sprinkling of the cheese & spice mixture. They have a great salsa bar too. The staff were so friendly. My meal was fresh, delicious, well prepared and came out quickly. Definitely worth trying

I was hanging downtown with some friends late at night when we decided to grab some food from Tacos Mi Pa. The place was nice and cool inside. Definitely a reprieve from the sun we had been standing out in. We were helped right as we walked in the doors. Because I've had their tacos before, I knew that their asada was good. So I decided to get their carne asada fries and wow! It truly hit the spot. It was a good size portion for me. Large enough that I ended up taking half of it home. And when you go, you can't forget to get a side of the cilantro sauce from the salsa bar. I was dunking my fries in this sauce. They were so nice that they gave me a big cup with a lid, so that I could take some to-go. Really awesome spot and they're open til late! Hit it up with your homies!

I really want to see Tacos Mi Pa succeed, but there's a lot of room for improvement. When I arrived the restaurant was very clean, and not too busy. There were probably 2-3 other guests dining in. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, but after browsing the menu for a while I was assured that someone would be with me shortly. I don't really drink soda, so I asked for water. I was told that there's water at the fountain, but just the other night that I visited there was only carbonated water at the fountain. It was kind of awkward having to explain that as the customer. The staff could get more familiar with their restaurant. I ordered the asada fries and they came out quickly. Maybe a little too quickly because they forgot to add the carne asada! I kinda thought that I was going crazy, so I brought it back to the counter to have them take a look. They apologized for the mistake and fixed it for me. It was something that we laughed about, but I really hope this doesn't happen again. The good part: The carne asada fries are DELICIOUS. Once they corrected my order, I got to taste the best carne asada fries that I've ever had. The meat was tender, flavorful, and lean. The fries had a crispy texture and the toppings were perfect. I'm looking forward to a better visit next time. Tacos Mi Pa has a lot of potential.

Food was definitely good! I had their Asada Taco, 2 fish Tacos, elote, churro, and a Jamaica Drink! I did eat all this in the exact order and let me tell y'all it was good lolz all the food complemented each other so well. Overall, my experience was amazing, I was greeted by Maribel who assisted me in my order and I love the fact that there is a good selection of salsas! Definitely coming back to try more on their menu.

I was luckily one of the first people to try their tacos before they even opened. I been coming ever since. I believe they do have the best tacos in town. It's the masa they use for their tortillas for sure since they hand make it. It's so good and their tacos are pretty big compared to others. They also do have a little table with all sauces and toppings so you can build it your own way which I love. The elote, churros, and burritos are delicious as well. No complaints with the food. The service is always great. The blonde braided girl is the sweetest, just know if you see her she'll take care of you. She's the best there. Great business.

What went good??? Let me make a list .... fresh salsa bar... impeccable customer service.... clean areas... freshly made tortillas (chef's kiss ).... tender meats (chicken, asada, al pastor) ... elote was fire !!!! Oh, and the asada fries!!!! Crispy fries all the way through .... YUM!!!! Definitely a place to grab lunch or dinner in the downtown area. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!!

I came here for the yelp event they had. I had no complaints ! The establishment was clean. The stainless steal tables make it feel extra sterile which is important to someone who is a little bit of a germ-a-phobe like me. The women's restroom had good trash can location so you don't have to touch the door handle. The food was good ! The carne asada had a generous amount of meat. The salsa was good. Elote was pretty good. Very seasoned but not too much sauces which I liked because it wasn't messy to eat. And the Churro was excellent . Not too dense , perfect amount of sweetness.

My burrito was really tasty, this restaurant was very clean and the people were super friendly. The burrito was perfect and totally filled me up, unlike some place that skimp.

Stopped in after work, I was hungry and craving carne asada fries. I ordered them and a beer. The menu has a good selection and is nice and big to ready and order. I went to sit down and my shoes were getting stuck to the ground as there was something spilled, the girl acknowledged something spilled and was quick to mop it up. My asada fries came out, my first thoughts were this does not look consistent with the asada fries they advertise on there social media, plus looking at other post, the quantity does not match. The salsa bar was out of a lot of sauces, I didn't feel like scrapping the bottom so I just left it. The asada fries would be much better if they had the crinkle fries, i definitely could taste the frozenness of the fries. The meat had some seasoning but felt disappointed with the dryness. The drink I got was some type of pineapple Aqua Fresca, it was not drinkable. I really want to give this place a two thumbs up but I just can't. The prices are on the higher end. I've been to many places that serve homemade tortilla tacos at a much cheaper price.

The churro was nice and chewy with hollow center. They should be filling it something a future.

If you're from Bakersfield, do you know that the area that the restaurant is in it probably not the most flourished area downtown is definitely starting to revitalize themselves when we went. There was a lot of construction so of course parking was an issue, but we were able to find something and get over to a restaurant, we couldn't see the restaurant from the street because the signage is pretty small, but it was next to a couple of the areas we've been to before if you're going into the restaurant, you could probably notice that it's very minimal. The seating is very minimal very white. I wish the decor was a little bit more festive, but you can tell that this place is pretty much a really good place to go drink some beer and have some tacos I went with my kids they enjoyed it, but I definitely would not come at night with them. The menu is quite simple average price. I have the elite Yelp sample player, which had Elote one taco and a mini churro everything was great. I definitely think that Truro should have multiple options and have some filling with it. There's enough space in the churros to have filling with it. The Carne Asada taco was great stuffing and filled this quite remarkable corn was a little bit under Doane for me, but it was still very tasty. The best part where my kids they had the chicken quesadilla I was a little worried that I might be spicy for them, but it turned out to be actually really good and they gobbled it up. My partner had a California burrito, which was pretty huge good portion size and was stuffed really good. They had an excellent salsa bar and I would definitely agree that the avocado salsa is really good. I would've just loved to have a bowl of that with my chips and salsa the salsa, but they had with the chips and salsa was not my favorite. It was a little spicier and didn't have the flavoring that I like and salsa but the green avocado salsa definitely made up for it. They had cucumber slices, which was amazing to have with the tacos. Overall, it was really good experience. The weight staff was really nice. They were very attentive would definitely go back with some friends for lunch and if there is a big large open patio, I would definitely say if you need a group outing this would be a place to go.

Very friendly experience. Nice atmosphere and friendly servers. My wife and I had the asada tacos and El pastor quesadilla. Our good was prepared fresh and served to us quickly at our table. It children has the chicken burrito and Cali burrito. Food was really good. The salsa was very flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The Guac sauce was prob a favorite of all of us. Very good flavor . This is an excellent little taco joint to hang out at downtown. They also have a little bar with on tap beers. We had a very good time

Churros are a must!!! Let's start with that. opted to try some of the tacos. Tortillas are handmade and are the perfect accompaniment to the tacos. The asada meat had a lot of flavor and the char that was in it just enhanced it even more. The chicken on the other hand, although it was very tender and juicy, it didn't have the same burst of flavor. It was pretty bland. Each taco was served with a heap of meat in it. For the price, it seemed fair. Although they come with a good size spoonful of guacamole on top, you can request it to be withheld. There's a nice selection of options to choose from at the salsa bar. I liked that the onions and cilantro are separated because now I can control how much cilantro I want on my tacos. We tried the elotes and they too were just as delicious. The churro stole the show tho. I could have just had a dozen of those for lunch and I'd have been sweetly satisfied. The young girl at the counter was really friendly. The business is family operated and although she is not family you could tell she liked her job. Business was steady for a Sunday, but when she wasn't ringing up orders she took the time to chat with us about the future of the restaurant and everything the owner has in mind to add onto it. She appeared to be excited. Can't wait to see what he does. The one set back I had was a smell that hit me when we walked in. Wasn't the smell of food cooking or as though someone had been cleaning, but it wasn't pleasant. It lingered while we ate and I got past it, but it was not something I expected upon entering. It's not something that will stop me from returning, so we'll see if it was just this one time.

Parking is street only, but trust me... it's 100% worth the hassle. From the moment we walked in, the experience was great. We were warmly greeted and given the option to get recommendations or browse the menu ourselves, which I appreciated. After taking our time, we ordered the chicken quesadilla, nacho fries, and a California burrito, along with salsa verde, chubbie salsa, and chipotle salsa. The food? Incredible. A solid 10/10. Everything was packed with flavor, the meat was juicy (not dry at all), and the salsas absolutely stole the show. On top of that, the staff really made the experience stand out. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Great food, great music (nothing but bangers the whole time), and amazing service. The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! We ordered a full order of chips and salsa. That is extra. It was $6 for a full order ($5 for half) and these chips were well worth the cost. We will be back!
