Hands down my second favorite restaurant I always get the same thing a steak burrito with just cheese, steak, rice, and sour cream with sour cream one the side. Server Katrina was rude and unprofessional. The place was dirty and spill on the floor was dangerously left for 10 + min. before they cleaned it up. Tables were dirty. We had to clean our own. Salsa ice was covered in spilled salsa and running out of product. Can't say this place is a safe place to eat. read more

Couple weeks ago, I order food to go. One of those items is a rice and beans plate. Without checking, I drive all the way home and realize my 2 year olds rice and beans plate is only rice. Annoying especially because it's late and my kid has to go to bed. Everybody makes mistakes so I call and let them know. Manager Alfonso says they will take care of it when I come back. So tonight I call and place an order requesting that they pick up the tab on this one for the inconvenience. The other manager whose name I unfortunately didn't get, first avoided my request by repeating my order back and pretending he didn't understand that I requested they comp me for the inconvenience. When I pressed him on it, he gave me a little lecture on how they will only replace the food they erred on and that it's their policy not to give back more than that. So he knows what I asked for and is just trying to avoid he request. Awesome. He says that they don't give out free food, especially $20-$30 worth and a replacement rice and beans dish is all I'm getting. I let the guy know that I could understand that argument if I was in the store and we could swap it out. My problem is the inconvenience and annoyance of driving out there, discovering their mistake after I get home and his lousy, obstinate attempt to fix it. Really think I care about a stupid $2.50? C'mon! Bottom line, you screwed up, and then chose not to make it right. Lame. My wife and I used to go there couple times a month. No more. Lots of good Mexican nearby where they take care of you without having to ask when they screw up and then don't fight with you about pennies. My 1200 person company usually orders catering quite a bit from this location, you darn right I'm going to let my friend who does all the ordering know about this! read more

NOT GOOD! The ladycashier gave bad customer service. We asked for a to go bag and she gave us aluminum foil. When she found the bags she said they only had small ones. When we left, we saw they had larger bags. She would run out to wipe down tables as soon as customers started to line up. It was obvious she was not focused on doing her job, let alone a good job. You've probably already had Baja Fresh, from Burritos to Tostadas, they originally had much better ingredients / food, but have suffered through a degrading product. The food comes faster now than ever before, which isn't necessarily a good thing, but it still beats "fast food". Some of their new experiments, like the Nacho Burrito, are questionable as well. Stick with a steak or carnitas burrito or taco and you should be satisfied. read more

I have dined here many times and I'm always stoked on my food. The steak and chicken are moist and flavorful. Mixed with all their fresh salsa it is close to perfection!! Went there for dinner tonight. It was Filthy! When I mentioned it to the manager he said a big family had come in and made a mess and they hadn't had a chance to clean up yet. While I usually go to a place for the food, the ambiance always adds to the experience. When ever I go to Baja Fresh it seems so sterile. To much white in the decor. That said the food here is above average. The grilled tacos are actually pretty good. Of course since this is commercial mexican food the portions are small. The service could be better. If you go just before closing you might not get salsa because they start closing down about a half hour before actual closing time. I went there the other day and all the chairs were up and they had put all the salsas away. If I had just driven by I would have thought they were closed. read more

Baja Fresh makes some of the best fish tacos around - made with Ono! The service here is always friendly and fast. Also, their salsa bar is amazing, with 6 different salsas. I like mixing the sweet mango salsa with one of the hot salsas - it tastes delicious when added to their tacos! read more

Shockingly disappointed with my most recent visit on 2/1. One man complained of a bug in the salsa, my mother's burrito was cold, and my chicken was so so. The best part was when the employee was cleaning the tables with a cloth, she just threw the leftover food on the chair instead of picking it up. Baja Fresh - Grilled Chili Lime Salad - Mexican Near Me - San Clemente, California

First time eating here: amazing doesn't even describe the experience. Walk in to a laid back atmosphere with easy going alternative music. Greeted at the cash register by the owner himself, who was working, and upon telling him it was my wife and I's first time, gave us a very good run through of the menu. There was a HUGE menu available of burritos, tacos, bowls, etc. I ordered the Baja Burrito with chicken, along with a pint of the Una Mas local brew amber lager. My wife had the Baja Bowl with Shrimp. Baskets of fresh, warm tortilla chips to eat with your meal. There was a great spread of fresh salsas available; we tried the mango salsa, salsa verde, and salsa Baja. The owner also gave us a bowl of their fresh guacamole and quest: all of them were FANTASTIC. The beer was great, with a very smooth taste, and was priced well. The burrito was HUGE, very tasty, and very filling. The Baja Bowl also had a very generous helping, to the point that my wife was full and able to take some home for leftovers. And compared to the amount you get, the food was very moderately priced. Through it all, the staff (including the owner) were very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and kept in order, and the overall presentation was better than many major chains. All in all, we hit a gold mine in finding this restaurant, and will be back soon with 100% certainty. The service here is friendly and speedy (even though they don't use can openers or microwaves). And now they've added beer to their menu, so I don't see any reason to go anywhere else! I love the fact that they also have tasty-not boring-salads on their menus for those days when I want to be "good." I really love how clean this place always is. First off when we walked in everyone just stared at us and we got up to the counter and they were all just standing there no one came up for at least a few minutes to take our order. This was my first visit at a Baja Fresh and it wasn't a good one. The lady didn't let me finish my order before she rolled her eyes and asked my husband what he wanted. Sometimes it's all about the basics. The Baja burrito is amazing. We chose shrimp for the protein and it was delicious. Totally stoked that they gave us free chips while we waited--and they have about the best fresh salsa bar ever. And a shout out to Brandon for asking us how our meal was and meaning it! Absolutely horrible customer service. Do not use the online ordering feature. I accidentally placed an order for two items and only intended to order one. I didn't realize it until I showed up. I asked how it could be resolved and was told it was my fault, they could not refund the money and that I should call in my order the next time. I realize it was an error - whether it was me or the ordering system -however the manager was incredibly rude and gave me no reason to want to frequent their establishment in the future. read more

It's a fine place, although I do have some places I would dock points. The layout is wrong. You have a register that directs the line right into a person table. There is no logical place to line up. I would also ssay that there are too many tables. You can get around the place easy to do things like hit the salsa bar, or get your soda. Tables are too tightly compressed and the people linbing up are all over. read more

This location has great food and excellent service. For office lunches big or small, they beat anyone in the area. Ordering and pickup are so easy and the food has always been what we expected and tastes awesome. The afternoon manager on 9-18-15 was incredible and was one of the few times at a restaurant where I wanted to come back just because their service was so good.
