Went here with my friend last month, we had a horrible time there because the bartender wasn't serving me or my friend or the other black woman at the bar. We love coming to Baja Sharkeez when we are in town. Their micheladas are 10/10 every time. Unfortunately they are not pictured. We also love their wings. They are very delicious. They are very coated in their sauce. We can never go wrong with wings. My new favorite have been the MAUI sliders. Its a great bite. When sliders have pineapple, so if you like pineapple on your food, its definitely for you. The place can get a little hectic and loud, depending if they have an event or a game going on. It's is family friendly during the day, but during the night its adult time! The service has and always has been quick. There are multiple people helping you. If you need any assistance, you can easily get a hold of someone, even if it isnt your waiter. There are sections were you will not have a waiter, it would be order at the bar type. I love music, and sometimes I blast it. But this place is louder than most stadium rock concerts I have been to. Not a huge deal, but you go up to the bar and pay ahead of time if you are ordering food. Just felt off. And I guess if you need anything else, you have to go back up to the bar. No one ever asked how things were or if we needed anything else. I get I may have been about 25 years too old for this place and I don't have a cute butt. That doesn't mean I won't buy more drinks. Anyway. The food was really good though, and very reasonably priced. I wouldn't mind coming here again, but next time I will sit outside so my ears stop ringing sooner. read more

The service was a 0/5 star. Food was 4.5. It took 2 hours to get my food. Indoor tables require ordering at the bar. Bar tender ignored me and 5 other customers. After waiting 10 minutes I got annoyed so I sat at an outside table. Waited 20 minutes for my server. I had to wave her down every time I needed something. She was checked out not attentive. We got the impression that she was ignoring us. After what seemed like an hour of waiting for our food, I ask the server to cancel my order. A manager explains the kitchen was short staffed. We got our food and it was really good. The mahi was amazing. The service needs to be better. I think they need two servers inside to take orders. We went to this restaurant at the busiest time of the year and they fumbled so bad. Hopefully this gets fixed cus the ambiance and food are great. read more

First time at Hermosa. Beautiful beach and neighborhood. All the different bar host were all friendly as I was briefly bar hoping just to check out the vibes. My girlfriend and her friend, different skin colors, had landed on this establishment "Baja Sharkeez" and were already seated 10 mins prior to me about to enter. I show my I.D. to the security, large caucasian guy, he looks at it strangely, looks at me and says "Yeah there's a $10 cover charge". I looked at him sideways and it was almost as he expected it. What's weird is, the group of people in front of me, he checked their I.D.'s and did not ask for any cover. They were also caucasian. I simply walked away, called my girl. She answers, I explain what happened. She confirmed she, her friend and others that were in line before them [All CAUCASIAN] did NOT pay a cover. She immediately got up and headed out. The food was great with very generous portions. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the other guests were friendly. We sat outside with our dog, and the staff thoughtfully brought out water for them without us even asking, which was nice. However, my partner ordered at the bar, and the bartender was really rude and seemed unhappy to be there. We didn't realize we could order from the outdoor tables, as we've only been here at night for drinks. In hindsight, we wish we had just ordered through the outdoor waitstaff--they were much friendlier than the bartender. read more

It took me a while to find a clean table... then later on I saw the way they clean after a customer leaves... they don't if you want to enjoy a nice cold beer then don't come here. They had a brunch service and lunch service started at noon so we had the best of both worlds and ordered a breakfast platter then at noon ordered nachos, wings, and tacos! Everything was very tasty, I just wish they put more chicken in the chicken asada tacos, but the fish taco was great. We sat outside so we were served, but if you sit inside it's self service where you order at the bar and they bring your food and drinks out. For the shareable, I went with the Nachos De Queso (I added shredded beef). On 5/9/26 around 10:00 PM, I was denied entry to Sharkeez Hermosa Beach for allegedly violating the dress code because I was wearing a sweatsuit. However, I observed staff members, including Chris (security) and Cody (district manager), wearing casual clothing that appeared inconsistent with the stated dress code. Chris was wearing black swim trunks, a black shirt, and dirty Air Force 1s. Another security guard wore cargo shorts, a wrinkled white T-shirt, and dirty Vans. The inconsistency in enforcement made me feel singled out and unfairly treated. I would like clarification on the venue's dress code policy and how it is enforced. read more

This establishment racially discriminated my party and me (a group of latinos). We were told a cover charge was required for entrance--although no signage stated so. Upon entrance, our party noticed other guests were not being charged who entered after us. We left upset and on the way out asked the lady at the register why we were charged when others weren't, and her excuse was she didn't notice the other guests going on as she was "looking down." She told us to talk to the security who checks ID's. When we questioned the security, he brought his manager. Once the manager arrived, he alleged that they do not charge "locals" who live in the area--meaning only white people who predominantly live in the beach city. The manager didn't even try to listen to us or seek to understand, so our party left. We will never be returning to this bar moving forward. read more
