Came in to watch the World Cup games and UFC Freedom 250 and it was an okay experience. The place itself is in a busy location so good luck trying to find parking if you're not there early. The food was okay, and the beer selection was too small in my opinion. The bar should have a couple more selections on tap. I think what made it worse was the kids running around plus the music selection. I can see this place being a good spot to many, but wasn't my favorite. Don't take my word for it, give it a shot for yourself. I would definitely give it another shot to see if my experience would be better. Otherwise, staff is friendly and its a cool lil spot.

Beautiful Huntington Beach weather, crosses on the walls, a father-and-son owned spot full of genuinely good people, breakfast burritos sent straight from heaven, and a homemade Bloody Mary mix so phenomenal you might just sit there quietly praying it makes you feel 7% less motherless for the afternoon. And somehow the day got even sweeter meeting darling little Darla the dog, precious Lily cute as a button, plus Henry and Louis who made this tired heart feel a little lighter too. Shoutout to Sharkeez for somehow turning breakfast into emotional support with ocean air Zach has your back ;) -love from San Diego

Fun bar to visit in Newport Beach. My friends and I visited after having dinner. We wanted to go somewhere with good vibes and popping music. Therefore, we decided to get drinks at Baja Sharkeez. Great drinks while staff attended to us nicely. We were going to stay for about an hour, but ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours. That means we were having so much fun. They also had a calm area as well where you can chill almost like a lounge away from the loud music so you can actually hear your conversation with your friends. Good vibes with overall a great night.

Had brunch at Baja sharkeez with my girlfriend and her meetup group. Food prices are reasonable, $9 for French toast or pancakes including eggs and bacon. They also offer bottomless mimosas. We ordered at the bar and our plates were brought to the table. I ordered scrambled eggs and they appeared to be powdered and reconstituted. The others who ordered over easy, medium, and hard got fresh eggs that appeared much more appetizing. The scrambled eggs were not good, similar to the scrambled eggs served at some buffets where they are kept warm over a steam tray. Bad texture, didn't taste very good, and were watery at some points. Honestly the eggs really left me disappointed. The rest of the meal was good. If I return I'll be sure to order eggs over medium.

Pros: good food, huge portions, big TVs to watch sports, fun decor, self serve salsa and chips bar Cons: need to order at the register, parking is a nightmare in that beach area, cocktails are too syrupy and unbalanced (stick with beer or seltzers) All in all, a great place to watch a game...but if you want a more fun, party atmosphere then walk over to Mutt Lynch's

Baja Sharkeez gives you a unique experience, that's for sure! It seems to be a staple here in Newport Beach, packed with people in the late night hours. Their fish tacos were flavorful and hefty portions, so it hit the spot after a long day. However, there's a real party vibe at this place (with a live dj and everything) that will definitely feel fun and exciting drunk on a night out, but might not be the vibe for a casual dinner. Glad I experienced it nonetheless!

Staff was wonderful, super friendly and attentive. Food and drinks are amazing. Highly recommend coming during their food and drink happy hour. Absolutely great options and delicious! If you go with a big group, get fishbowls!!! Will return. Cant wait.

I was amazed at the bottomless mimosas for the hour! Love! And my French toast was good as well! We at outside and it was beautiful! Glad we were able to enjoy brunch there

Baja Sharkeez Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Baja Sharkeez

During the day do we needs to show ID?

Not to get in since it's a restaurant during the day. You only show id if you are getting a drink or when it turns into the night bar

Is the music loud on weekdays?

Yes but it seems like they don't want people dancing too crazy during the weekdays. So I would be cautious of that.

Do they have taco tuesdays? & what time of music do the play

I believe they have taco Tuesdays and they play a range of music. 80s and such. A lot of TVs to watch sports on as well! It is a great hangout.

Do they offer bottomless brunch on the weekends?

No. They used to do a bottomless time limited mimosa session but now they do not during the latest restrictions.

Can someone age of 19 enter this restaurant?

It's a restaurant as well. So I imagine. Maybe not at certain hours. You'd have to call or try to walk in when you want. A handful of places in the area,do have bouncers at night,so that might stop you. Really good food and staff.

Do they have happy hour and at what day/times?

    Mon-fri 3pm-7pm

What kind of music do they play on friday nights?

Terrible music. One second it's hip hop then the music either doesn't transition properly to the next song or it does transition to beach surfing music lol

    Can guys wear sports hats?

That place is very casual. Cant imagine a dress code at all. Any hat would do. Depends on the team and the crowd some opposing team hats could be risky.🤠🎩🧢

What kind of music plays on Sunday's?

    Dank tunes

How much are the Jell-O shots?

4.50$ or 5 for 18$ during happy hr

    Is it 21+?

Yes to drink. However I did see families with small children in there.

I appreciated that the quesadilla was super cheesy, it was a great size too and was perfect as an entree with the beans and rice. I was very happy with the flavor of the beans, you could tell they were cooked with a lot of love! The tacos were delicious as well, the roasted salsa was slightly smoky with a good jalapeño flavor, the meat was tender, and the tortillas had a great chew. The churros are not to be underestimated- they were thick and fluffy, and the dipping sauces were perfect accompaniments. The flan was the super star of the whole night for me- genuinely the most perfect, custardy, unctuous flan I've ever had. The vanilla bean specks throughout gave it such flavor, there wasn't a ton of syrup but it honestly did not need it. There is absolutely nothing that could have improved that flan. Will definitely come back, hopefully dine in and try a few drinks!

Simply put, nasty. My wife rebooked us for 8:00, so we waited at the bar. At dinner, we ordered margaritas and they were genuinely terrible. Not just "not our taste," but shockingly bad for a restaurant that has always been known for its margaritas. We sent them back and asked for beers instead. That's where the service really lost us. Our waitress didn't ask what was wrong, didn't apologize, didn't seem concerned, and made absolutely no effort to fix the experience. She just dropped the Modelos on the table with an attitude that basically said, "Fine, you're a nuisance, here's your beer." The food itself was great, but the service and overall hospitality were genuinely terrible. They also completely forgot the birthday despite it being noted on the reservation. I normally tip 25-30%, but tonight I left 15% and wrote, "Thanks for forgetting my birthday" on the check. That pretty much summed it up.
