As someone who enjoys having plant-based options, I wish more restaurants did this. Unfortunately, the service was hit or miss. Our waiter was not very attentive, and on several occasions we had to rely on other waitresses to help us get his attention when we needed something. We started with two upgraded margaritas, a strawberry and a coconut. Both were delicious and probably the highlight of the meal. However, we noticed we were charged $1 more per drink than the menu listed, which was disappointing. We also ordered the Chips 4 Ways appetizer, which comes with four different salsas and chips. While everything tasted good, the portions were quite small. There weren't many chips, and each salsa appeared to be only about 2-3 ounces. For $13, it didn't feel like a great value. For our entrees, I ordered the vegan tofu tacos. They were okay, but the tofu was extremely chewy and seemed overcooked. My husband ordered the fajitas, which were tasty but surprisingly small for a $33 entrée. Overall, the food was decent and there were definitely some positives, especially the margaritas and the vegan menu options. However, between the inattentive service, small portions, and pricing, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. We'd likely give Diego's another chance, but we'd probably order differently next time.
