No beans, and rice that tasted worse than if it came out of a box. Nothing redeeming about this item. If this is supposed to be a kids meal, please, no way I wouldn't serve it to mine. read more

Barbacoa quesadilla was very delicious fresh, and a good serving size. Plenty of parking. Small place with only six tables, but there is outdoor picnic tables for good weather. It's our go to place for lunch when we're in the area. read more

Went here after a beach day with a few friends. I like that it is assembly style to build your own burrito, but that it is more localized than the big chain competitors. I ordered the birria tacos and the street corn in a cup while my bf and friends got the burritos. Portions were generous, but the ground beef was a little bit off and the salsa is milder than I am used too although there were only two heat options. It was also a little pricier than similar options (almost $50 for two people) The birria taco meat was so tender and delicious, but for me the street corn in a cup was decent, although I have certainly had better elsewhere. The restaurant is a bit small and looks like it primarily operates as a casual takeout establishment although they do have tables and barstools for sit in customers as well as tables and chairs outside. Overall, an okay place for Mexican cuisine in a pinch. read more

My favorite place for take out on the island. The food is high quality and tasty, and the portions are generous. We visit at least once a month. Household favorites are the chicken quesadillas, the steak bowl, and barbacoa tacos. The queso is DELICIOUS! We always have to get an order of queso and chips when we visit. We usually get it for takeout, but there is some seating available inside. They play music, and the staff is friendly and nice. Absolutely recommend! read more

I am giving 4 stars because the food was good but the service was terrible. I did an online order for a Chicken Bowl, a Chicken Burrito and Chips and Queso. I drove down the road to go sit by the water to eat and realized there were 2 Burritos in the bag and no bowl. I went back to the restaurant and of course there was a line now, so I waited and waited and finally decided to go over to where someone was paying and told them they got my order wrong. They again made me wait for someone to come out of an office room. He had an attitude once I explained the situation to him and he had to check the receipt which was clearly showing a BOWL... he remade the food because I told him it wasn't fair to the other person to have a soggy burrito as so much time had passed.... Well... I go park my car again and find out he didn't put any sour cream on my bowl like I ordered!!!! Bottom line... people with attitudes never get it right! read more

This was the second time that we have visited Salsa's, as much as I enjoy supporting a local establishment, they really could do better. We called in our order ahead of time for takeout, and when we opened the order we realized that it was wrong. So back to the store to get it corrected. My wife's order was still wrong, but at this point, we were not going back a third time. As far as the food goes, it does taste good, no complaints at all there. A word of caution, if you will be eating in a car, the burritos are extremely messy, and will undoubtedly blow out before you get very far into it. So next time I would absolutely opt for a bowl instead of a burrito. As the taste of their food is good, I would still go back for another try, but would check my order before leaving the restaurant. read more

We ordered take out from Salsa's and it was delicious. Here is what we got: Birria tacos- this was amazing! It came with 3 birria tacos and a side of consumme. The meat was super tender and the consumme was so flavorful! Then there was a crunch from the onion and some freshness with the cilantro. I could've eaten 3 more! Burrito Bowl - it is easy to want to compare this bowl to some of the chain burrito places. But it's different. The chicken was so flavorful with a generous portion. The Spanish was had the perfect salty flavor in addition to the veggies and beans we added. I feel like the serving size was good, I would prefer going here instead of one of the chain burrito spots where the portions are inconsistent. Queso and Chip - to me the queso had a little bit too much salt for my liking. The chips were nice and crispy and the perfect vessel for the queso. Next time I order from here I will take pictures. She kept laughing and talking to someone in the back and not really acknowledging the customers. The burrito was mediocre, it was not very flavorful or fresh. One day after work I was craving a good socal style Mexican burrito. I wanted some sharp salsa, pungent onions, and a soft tortilla wrapped around it's contents like a perfect little secret. Unfortunately I didn't know of any Mexican places nearby so we gave salsa try. Our first visit we got there and made our burritos through the line like a Chipotle spot, and then sat and ate them while we watched fútbol on TV. I can say I wasn't impressed with my burrito, which was falling apart due to the meat being so wet and not strained enough from it's simmering sauce. The flavors were ok however, and we finished our meal as best we could with it falling all apart. What I can tell you is why I keep going here: chips and salsa. I guess this is why they are named salsa and not taco or burrito? Their chips are super crisp and salty, and their salsas are super fresh. We even bought a few bags of chips and a few sides of salsa and guacamole to bring to a party and they were a huge hit. Hubby loves salsa because they offer online ordering and delivery which speaks to him on a deep level when he's had a long day and doesn't want to drive. That said, I don't think that other than their chips and salsa and their convenience they have much really that sets them apart from any local competition. Very disappointing tonight. Ordered online which is usually a quick pickup. When we arrived - 5 min after our scheduled pickup the girls seemed surprised that we had ordered.... It was not ready and then when we finally got the order home after waiting for it to be made, Our entire order was wrong.... I am pretty picky about Mexican food - when I saw this place opening up I decided to give it a go. I braved the third world conditions of east main and managed to avoid the majority of pot holes until I arrived. I was greeted right away and the menu was explained to me. I decided on the chicken tacos and was through the line in no time. The service was quick and friendly but I had a show to binge so I got my tacos to go. The taco toppings are fresh and tasty they even seem to have roasted the jalapeño peppers. The chicken I thought was a bit dry but the hot sauce I got on them made up for it - highly recommend the hot sauce. Over all - I think I will be back! read more

Great place to order from online, ready in mins and reasonably priced for a huge burrito. It's so big that hubby and I often split it along side a homemade salad. My fave is the barricoa which is beef that's been simmered for hours, really tender! Hubby prefers the heat and spice of AL Pastor which has bits of pineapple in it and has a kick to it. Have to pay extra for added queso, wish they'd add a lil bit more to it but more importantly is the meat is never equally distributed in the burrito, so it's a gamble who gets more when we share. Can't speak about the in-store location, but the takeout is AMAZING! I've worked in restaurants for years and I know the smell of fresh guac and salsa. I can just smell that they are using the freshest ingredients. Also if you are trying to decide between Salsa's Burrito Grill and Chipotle, Salsa's is better. Having previously been a regular at Chipotle, the salty sad dishes are nothing by comparison to the freshly fried corn chips and lively bowls they create. So why go through the efforts of running a business when your product is going to be Nothing more than wallet robbery. The food was ill prepared, untraditional, bland, looked like it had already been digested and Taco Bell has more credibility. The owner should be ashamed. If anyone wants decent flavored Mexican food (not traditional still) drive over the Hope bridge to Nacho Mamas. You will be much more satisfied. Do not eat here unless you plan on sleeping all afternoon. . Seriously, the burritos are the size of your head. This place is pretty beat inside and frankly could use a serious facelift, however, the food is really good. Service is fast and not particularly friendly but not rude either. There are some benches to sit at outside but the property is nothing special to look at. There are a few seats inside but it's pretty much a takeout place. They could use better drink options and they really need to give the place a facelift inside desperately. Don't let that stop you from going however. Just remember what I said about needing to take a nap later. I guarantee you won't eat again until the next day. read more

Seating for maybe 15 inside but I expect folks take advantage of the picnic table in good weather. Quick and friendly service. You decide on the mode (burrito, tacos, bowl, etc.) and your meat (or non-meat) as chicken, Barbacoa, etc.. Then go down the line and add whatever - beans, rice, tomatoes, etc. Note their hot sauce (red) is spicy. We enjoyed a Barbacoa bowl, steak burrito, chips and salsa, and sodas. All good! Damages were $27 (the cashier ran the card w/o giving us a chance to tip). Note Mexican sodas are $3 and adding guac is $2.25. read more

Both (one steak and one ground beef) burritos and bowl were just to die for! The chips and quest dip were worth a try as well, loved the spicy kick to it! Being from California, we miss Mexican food and this really hit the spot! Online order was simple and easy, took about 20 mins to prepare and pick up was easy. I got a veggie bowl and it was great. The veggies were grilled and seasoned very well, and the portions of rice, beans, guacamole, lettuce, and sour cream were great too. However, I would've liked to be able to add jalapeños to my bowl, and I added hot sauce to my bowl but I couldn't taste any spice or sauce at all. We visited the others day and grabbed a couple of soft tacos each. Chipotle take note because this place is legit! From the owner of Casa Margarita's in Bristol, we finally have a much better alternative to the "chain mexican restaurants." Salsa's offers very fresh, authentic and tasty meals. My wife and I came here opening day and got the burritos. The options are a plenty and the portions are VERY generous. It was delicious. I have since come back a few times and every meal I have ordered I have never been disappointed. I have never experienced this placed being "filthy" as a previous reviewer stated. Salsa's does expwrience quite a few "rushes" throughout the day so sometimes the cooks/preppers may not be available to always clear off tables at the drop of a hat. I think some people on here a little too knit picky. Seems alot of yelpers think they are a 5 star food critic for a world renowned food magazine or cable channel. So I'm going to keep it real. Was super excited for a tasty mouth watering mexican cuisine restaurant on the island only to be let down again by another mediocre burrito shack. To start, the restaurant was filthy. I'm sure the place was slammed with new customers trying out the new restaurant, but to not be able to find one clean table to sit at just seems unacceptable. Service was limited as you move down the buffet style line and request the ingredients to add to your burrito. I will say that I needed to repeat myself several times as the preparer and cook had a conversation at the same time I was trying to place my order. It'd be nice if when you asked me what I would like, that you paid attention so I didn't have to continue to repeat myself. Now then, the important part- the FOOD! Not impressed but not disgusted either. It was in fact a very hearty meal with large portion sizes. I had a Barbacoa burrito with all the fixings-hold the guacamole due to the 2.25 upcharge to add it (didnt seem worth the price vs. portion).
