Tofu Bodega Salad Bowl

Me and some girls were in town for the weekend and wanted to go out for one of their birthdays to celebrate. She loves Mexican food so we chose here. The menu had plenty of options for all of our tastes. I made a mistake on the reservation, but they were still able to accommodate us. The noise was a bit overwhelming, even though it wasn't very crowded, but that's only because it was a smaller space. We all got a cocktail to start and it was perfect. After we had our meal, they surprise my friend with a birthday dessert. We all had some, and it was amazing. Would definitely come again.

Servers were less than Han interest in us I tried to order one of each taco but got two orders my bad Food took forever and was not hot when it was servered. Corn casserole was burnt and the Korean bbq shrimp was not good The pork belly was good

The service here is exceptional! The waitress was extremely kind and attentive. Went for taco Tuesday in the early evening and it wasn't too busy. Outdoor seating was gorgeous, sat outside in the upper deck patio. Chips and salsa were incredible. Could tell that the chips were homemade. Salsa wasn't spicy but had a distinct flavor and taste. The gringo tacos were really crispy, but much smaller than I expected. Not a whole lot of ground beef inside or other fixings. Not sure even with the taco Tuesday deal if the two tacos were worth $7. The BLAT tacos were crispy fried pork belly, this tasted really delicious, and went well with the crema and pickled cabbage. Rice and beans were pretty standard for a Mexican spot. Came with a little bit of homemade pico too! Overall not the most authentic Mexican spot, but pretty decent for Newport and you can't beat the ambiance, service, and the views.

This margarita hits the spot with enough salt on the rim.

Navigating the challenging parking situation at Bowen's Wharf, Diego's offers a delightful experience with its exceptional food. I indulged in the flavorful Korean BBQ pork belly tacos and Crispy Brussels with Ponzu and Garlic for appetizers--delicious! Accompanied by a generously poured margarita served in a mason jar glass, the traffic involved in getting here became much more manageable. While perusing the menu, I made mental notes of other appetizers and entrees for a future visit. The Arugula & Street Corn Salad caught my eye, and I'm intrigued by the tempting description of Pimientos de Sal (shishito peppers with aioli). Diego's also boasts a full Vegan menu, not just a few options, which I find commendable. Oyster Mushroom tacos, Roasted Beet and Butternut Squash tacos, and Buffalo Cauliflower Burrito--all sound appetizing, even for a non-vegan like me. They also offer a complete Gluten-Free menu. (Note: If you choose to park in the lot where The Mooring Seafood & Kitchen Bar is located, be prepared for steep parking fees.)

My boyfriend and I visited in February 2023 to celebrate our 2 year anniversary! Our first date was in February 2021 at Diego's over margaritas and nachos. So nice we could come back here to celebrate. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food is authentic, flavorful, and always tastes fresh. We love sitting upstairs in the summer time to see the view. This place is a great location for big celebrations or everyday dining - and everything in between. Bonus points for the on-site parking, which is hard to find at many Newport restaurants. We've been coming to Diego's since it opened, and it's always at the top of our list when we're going out. I've also been for brunch on the weekends, and it's phenomenal.

Met a friend for lunch today and she chose Diego's. We chose to sit out on the deck and holy cow the view! Cute little seating area with a view of the water. I ordered the Bodega Salad with chicken and it was delicious. Love that they carry Topo Chico seltzers! Made my day! My friend had the street corn and chips and salsa and a margarita. I'll definitely be back!

The food was okay, very small portion sizes and a bit pricey for how much food you get. The drinks on the other hand, very very good cocktails. Never had cinnamon with tequila, but the harvest margaritas were amazing. The service was really good, there was a 45 minute wait for the dining room so we were sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive to us , and we didn't have to wait long to be waited on. Thursdays are karaoke at 8 pm, so it was pretty lively and loud. Very beautiful view of the water and the sunset.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

Sandy was our amazing server, provided great recommendations and very attentive to her respective tables. Cocktails were great, antipasto was a great start not too much to leave room for the main and desert! The focaccia was light and flavorful as well. Had the rigatoni bolognese which was prepared perfectly and had great flavor. Nearly licked the plate clean! She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!

The front wall of the bar opens to a piazza with small fountain and most dining is outside under umbrellas. The fountain has toys and nets and we saw a number of kids enjoying some wet fun. Hostess stand is at the far side of the building. We walked in - but there may be parking in back. We asked to be seated in a shady spot (it. was. Hot!) and we were taken to a shady table by the sidewalk. A wall seperates the tables from the sidewalk. Our waitress was very pleasant and capable. She took the drink order and when she returned we ordered food and I asked her to be sure our waters were kept full. She returned shortly with a pitcher of water for the table. Excellent! I drank so much water. The menu is pub fare. Apps, salads, burgers, sandwiches plus some entrees like fish and chips. We both ordered sandwiches and chose the pasta salad as our side from their many side options. I also ordered a side salad. The salad arrived with our food, brought by a food runner which for me was good. The waitress checked in quickly to be sure everything was as expected. All good. The burger seemed a bit over cooked but has a nice char on it. The bun to burger ratio is good and it was fresh. My dining companion enjoyed their chicken sandwich and their vinegar based pasta salad. My side salad was a nice mix of greens with plenty of shredded carrot on top plus onion, tomato and red onion. Dressing on the side. Excellent lunch; good portion size, fresh ingredients, capable, friendly staff.

Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house.
