Nachos with chicken, corn, sour cream, fajita mix, and pico de gallo.

Words cannot describe how much wonderful this place is! When I attended Salve, this was one of my friend group's favorite place to eat at. Since graduating and being back in Newport after a long 12 hour road trip... Tijuana was the only thing on my mind and I'm truly glad they are still around! It is a quaint and humble restaurant that has a menu on the wall and above the ordering station. Ordering is quite simple, there is a variety of "base" options you have available such as a burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, quesadilla, nachos, etc... Then, you go down the line for all the good toppings in a Chipotle-style manner. This time, I got the nachos and loaded them right up. The best part about this place is that they never skimp on the toppings. You get so much delicious food for about $11-13. My partner got a burrito nearly the size of his head! I could go on and on about this place some more, but when you find yourself in Newport... certainly give it a try!

Totally random and spontaneous visit. I pulled into a parking spot as soon as I saw the words, "tacos and burritos". But what I found was a super nice surprise... I just got back from Belize and I saw pupusa's on the menu. I ordered one chicken, one pork, one cheese. It comes with the side slaw in a separate baggie. I also had to try out their street corn in a cup. It did not disappoint! I'm already wanting to come back with my daughter. The service was friendly and I was greeted promptly to take my order. Nothing fancy, but absolutely delicious and that's what matters.

Homemade tortillas, nicely grilled steak, homemade guac and pico! Got the order to takeout and it was simple for pickup, food was still hot and fresh when we got it.

I'm not sure if I just went on a bad day in the kitchen or what have you, but this is probably the worst bowl I've ever had. Very weird flavor. If you've ever had Mexican food you can tell this is nothing like it. I know I gotta give everything a second chance but I just don't really want to go back. Luckily I was haven't ate all day (it was 3pm) and I was super hungry so i was able to eat it all. But man that was not good. But maybe steak isn't they're strong suit.

Fresh and flavorful Street corn in a cup and excellent taco salad.

My party of three is from the West Coast and we love authentic Mexican food. This place fits the bill! Fresh delicious food, served quick by friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant is cute and clean. We are here while visiting Newport and we would definitely come back here in a heartbeat during our next visit. My sister had the bowl and street corn in a cup. My mom and I got the taco salad. The taco tortilla bowl was fresh and crispy, but not greasy. The Spanish rice was phenomenal. The guacamole was also good.

The food was great!! Seemed good quality and authentic. People behind the counter were friendly. The inside was small, but we went at a good time and had no problem finding a spot to sit.

If you're in the area and want something like chipotle but better this is the place. The food is great, the hot sauce is amazing along with the portions! Service was great a tad bit hot and stuffy in there but didn't stop me from eating.

I'd rate this 4.5. All the flavors were on point. So delicious. Subtract half a star just for construction. They could drain some of the ingredients a little more before adding it to the bowl. But it was yummy so not complaining too much.

Got the Carnitas burrito and found a staple in it.

We ordered the carnitas burrito, and halfway through, we found a staple in it. Really disappointing and concerning. We've enjoyed this place in the past, but finding something like that in our food has definitely shaken our confidence.

Very fresh and honestly, very affordable for the aesthetic, quality, and taste. Plus the service is great. I've had their pastas, entrees, apps, pizza, and drinks and there is nothing you can go wrong with. My personal favorites is their kale salad, chianti marsala braised beef and mushroom tagliatelle. Again, the quality is great and everything is seasoned/ flavored well. Plus their pastas are homemade! They also give free bread, who doesn't love that? I cannot recommend this place enough. Every table and bar seat was packed so I highly recommend having a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit. The Romaine & Kale Caesar Salad with Chicken Milanese was genuinely tremendous. Such an elite combination from the freshness & creaminess of the salad to the crispiness and saltiness of the Chicken Milanese. Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a nice hassle-free experience. I could've honestly ended the meal here and been super content. I rarely see oven roasted pizza on the menu so we decided to try the Oven Roasted Chicken Grilled Pizza. The best part was actually the dough; it's thin enough where the roasted/grilled flavor comes through. The pesto and arugula were both good and paired well with the grilled chicken. The Tagliatelle was savory, earthy, and not overly creamy. The pasta itself was cooked just right. Since we were celebrating a birthday, I was so grateful that they offered us a complimentary slice of Limoncello Mascarpone Cake. It was so good! Moist, creamy, and not too sweet or citrusy. It was a pleasant bite to end the meal on. Great spot!

Service was attentive, the restaurant is super spacious, and the food was delicious. We started with a couple cocktails which were decent but I would suggest a bottle of wine instead to better suit their menu. The Crispy Calamari was so satisfying. It was crispy, not chewy at all, and the peppers and lemon added a bright zestiness to each bite. The Lobster Bisque was also the best I've ever had. It was soothing, buttery, and loaded with lobster! Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a thoughtful touch. We got the Bone In Delmonica 18oz which comes with one accompanying sauce. We got the truffle butter and I wish they'd give at least 2 because the horseradish crema and chimichurri also caught my eye. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium. It was charred on the outside, juicy on the inside, and went well with the sides. Speaking of sides, the Truffle Mac & Cheese is a huge portion for ~$16! Not to mention, it's so creamy, cheesy, and earthy from the truffle. I loved it! The 22B Mashed Potatoes were delicately smooth and paired well with the steak. We ended with the Old Fashioned Carrot Cake which was moist, had good texture, and a delicious cream cheese frosting. I appreciate the fact that it was complimentary; getting a free birthday dessert has become a lost art but not at 22 Bowen's! Highly recommend making a reservation for a special occasion or just a memorable dinner!

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

I loved everything about this restaurant except one thing, which I'll explain, and which caused 5…read morestars to become 4 stars (I wish I could just knock off a half star but that's not how it works, I guess): My next door neighbor Judi has a hobby of catching the Newport ferry from Providence, sometimes spending a few hours and coming back, or just staying on the boat and heading back, just so she can lean back in a seat and soak up the sun. Lately she'd been telling me about a chocolate martini from The Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant, and being the martini and chocolate fan that I am, I simply had to experience it. So I finally got a day when I could join her on a trip, and so we went there on Labor Day. Once there, we walked right in at 11:30 am, and were seated immediately. The interior is fun and interesting -- antique this and that, including a huge iron door that looks like it went to a furnace, and had embossed lettering, I believe it was Newport Highschool. Perhaps the restaurant location is where the HS coal room was originally??? Anyway, one the way to the table, the hostess said something about the soup and salad bar being over there to my right, and so I went to check it out, and once I took a gander inside the two soup containers, I grabbed a bowl of Portuguese Kale Soup and brought it to the table. Judi said "That's all you're gonna get?" And I said "Of course not, I'll grab some salad and maybe get a sandwich or something." "Oh" she said, and then got up to check out the soup and salad bar herself. Meanwhile as I'm slurping the delicious, heart y soup, loaded with chourico, potatoes, carrots, kale, beans, etc., I'm perusing the menu and I notice that it says that if you purchase a sandwich of $9 or more then you get the soup and salad bar for $10, and then the soup and salad bar alone was $18. Okay, so perhaps I just wasn't thinking about the world in which I now live that basically has you paying for the bread basket you might get served. But again, the hostess just basically slurred out something about the soup and salad bar and my brain heard that it was complimentary. I honestly have to wonder if that's part of the trick(?) to get you to go for it, and not realize that it's considered a meal in itself, and then you order a sandwich or whatever, and now you're paying twice the amount you thought you'd be paying, but hey, it's Newport and people are spending $40 on a stupid baseball cap. And so, you know, if you end up having to pay a bit too much at a restaurant, you don't make a scene, you just say "Yeah, I meant to do that". Okay, I'm trying not to be sardonic here, trying not to sound like one of those "everybody's out to get me" kind of folks, so I'll just shut up at this point, on this particular point. I just hope that the owners and/or managers will inform the hostess to be a bit more clear on what the soup and salad bar actually means. That'd be nice. So there was no way I was buying a sandwich to go along with the soup and salad bar -- I simply cannot eat as much as I did when I was in my 20's and couldn't gain a pound if I ate all day long. I was able to (slightly) save face once Judi went for the soup and salad bar herself and was satisfied with the freshness and deliciousness thereof. But the piece de resistance, the very reason we both came to this establishment in the first place ... the chocolate martini! So this martini looks nothing like you'd expect as clear as water. I believe it's got a vodka base, and then some creme de cocoa, and is showered in grated chocolate flakes. It was absolutely splendid! Nice and boozy without being overpowering, and the flavor was amazing. And then for some strange reason, Judi is looking at the dessert menu. She reads of a few of them, asking me if I'd like something like that. I keep saying "I'm pretty full Jude", but she was persistent. She especially was taken with the Ghirardelli Fudge Brownie with 4 Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream. She said "What if we can get them to split it in half on two separate plates?" I said "Ohhhhkaayyyyy..." And our waitress said "Absolutely!" She came back with two large portions (see attached photo ... just remember, that's a picture of HALF of the dessert serving!). Oh my word! It was large and quite yummy. A nice, crunchy and soft brownie made with Ghirardelli chocolate, with plenty of walnuts therein, two lovely scoops of ice cream, all drizzled with chocolate sauce. A splendid way to cap it all off. So I'd go back again, just with the knowledge that it's EITHER the soup and salad bar OR a sammich, at least for a guy my age and size and appetite. But definitely for that lovely chocolate martini ... and maybe that fudge brownie to make it complete :)
