Senior Spring Break for my daughter and her friends...and I was "chaperoning" which meant I was in Cabo and available if needed. I was happy to find out that there were other parents who were doing the same and I even knew a few of them! I grabbed them and we decided to have a nice dinner. We were hungry and decided go to Cabo Wabo but we were surprise it was pack due they two ship the Carnival Panorama and Princess the Royal Princess visiting Cabo. We decided go to the Bajo la Luna just across from Cabo Wabo. We were greeted by waitress and show us to the table and she tell us they have discounts on Margaritas my wife and I order couple margaritas they very good. I've always been curious about this place after many recommendations. Lovely patio setting across the street from Cabo Wabo. Food and drinks are quite good. I had sea bass and my husband had ribeye. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! It was our first time dining here and we will go back the next time we are in Cabo for sure! Everything from the ambience, the service, the food, the drinks, the courtyard dining was excellent! We particularly enjoyed the carrot turmeric soup they serve as a starter which sounds odd when it is so hot outside but from the first spoonful, we were hooked. Served with house made bread and carrot butter... Out of this world! Our coconut shrimp and other entrees were very good as well! We were there just the other day when it was about 90 degrees outside. The courtyard was shady and there was a nice breeze. Definitely an amazing and very special restaurant with a beautiful courtyard. There was a guitarist playing smooth music. The decor is lots of greenery and Christmas lights all over. The service here is stellar. They pull out your chair and place your napkin. The servers are attentive and take pride in their work. I was getting bitten by mosquitoes and they bought out bug repellent. Now this level of service and to top it off the food is amazing. I ordered the garlic shrimp with carne asada combo. She said it was really good. I ordered the ceased salad which was fresh and good as well. My wife and I both ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of vegetables. The filet was cooked to order, tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes were bland. They lacked flavor. The gravy made up for lack of seasoning in the potatoes but there was very little of it. Seems to be a fairly new restaurant that strives hard to meet the standards of a place like Hacienda Cocina down by the marina. Made reservations on OpenTable and had to put a credit card down in order to hold it which is not a big deal except when I get to the restaurant and tell the girl at the front that I have reservations for a party of eight she starts chewing her bottom lip and wants to know if I'm with Jennifer party of eight. Nope not me but I tell her I made reservations on OpenTable. More lip chewing and clicking of her pen until she finally says "follow me." The restaurant is in a courtyard and is truly Bajo la Luna, in other words it is out in the open air and there is no roof. Just be forewarned on a super hot day it could be oppressive even at 8 PM. But we were having nice weather this week and it was fine; however remember the flies will stick around until the sun goes down at least. After that they weren't so much of a bother. There was a young man singing a cappella in the corner as the restaurant was filling up, and though he was pretty good, it was just a little too loud. When he plugged in an amplifier and his guitar I really started to worry about my proximity to the music and the ability to speak to those at my table. However as the restaurant filled up and conversation increased his volume seemed to decrease to just the right level. He was really talented, and is definitely a part of the attraction of the restaurant along with the setting once the sun goes down, which is beautiful. Service is excellent and attentive, you can essentially create any combination of items that are on the menu which is convenient if you want to try different things and exactly what we did. Prices are Hacienda Cocina comparable... But there the similarities end. Lobster was a little overcooked and for that price it should not be dry. Shrimp looked amazing but frankly lacked flavor. Steak was good but not great. All in all, at these prices, food should be spectacular and in line with the prices, the ambience, and the service. But it just isn't. Maybe they need to work out a few kinks and given a couple months they will be spectacular but right now I really think you could do better elsewhere. Solid 3.5 stars. read more

Best food I've had in Cabo my whole trip. Doesn't look like much on the outside but once you're seated it's a whole other world. Beautiful venue, live music along with string lights and plants. This place is definitely underrated, the food was amazing! Service was wonderful, quick to tender to you, very friendly staff. Lots of options on the menu, you really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo and the house alfredo sauce was delicious, not to mention the size of the aheim. We had drinks that were made to perfection, great appetizers and a wonderfully prepared meal with homemade bread and tomato butter. I had camerones La Luna and my wife had the catch of the day, sea bass. Both were very good and as a surprise, we had a complimentary glass of wine because of the full moon! To finish the meal we had the white chocolate bread pudding that was excellent in every way. There was live music and a beautiful evening in the courtyard that made the best evening yet in Cabo. We all shared the lamb chops and sea bass which were both so delicious! Came with perfectly cooked green beans and carrots and amazinggg mashed potatoes. The back courtyard is so cute and they had a man playing his saxophone to add to the ambiance. We had shrimp and a caprese salad for appetizers, their carrot soup, and then a seafood pasta, scallops, and shrimp Diablo for entrees. Everything was amazing!
