If you're at Ballard Farmer's Market, I must warn you that by 11 AM the pickings are quite sparse; if you can show up even 30 minutes before the, you'll increase your odds significantly of grabbing a goodie. Maddy's laminated pastry has a crisp outside that completely shatters when you dig in, which means it's a messy, but delectable treat. The layers are buttery and have a nice chew and the filling combinations are impeccably done. I often think matcha is overrated, but the Matcha Almond Pain Suisse is deliciously nutty with a little bit of grassy notes without being bitter. Seattle Dog Croissant has a very nice quality sausage, but I almost wish more cream cheese to punch you in the face. Cheese and Everything Bagel Seasoning Croissant had a great level of sodium and the cheese had crisped up when it spilled out. IMO Maddy's is better than Petite Pierre, better than Puffhouse, better than La Parisienne. So far, they've had the best pastries I've gotten to try in Seattle.

I honestly was excited to try this place so maybe my expectations was just too high, but it was…read morejust ok. The place itself is very hard to find and park, it's a very small shop with a couple of tables, they should just remove the tables because it's Soo small. Service was fine, pretty standard. Foodwise: the display case was pretty confusing - they have a lot more signs up than the actual food itself, and the menu also shows more. What's even more confusing was the display case can be a little different than what you actually get (ie the funfetti croissant displayed shows a regular croissant shape, but what you actually get is like a pan au chocolat shape)... What we got: - ham and cheese croissant -- not enough filling, and pretty standard Guava Suisse --not enough filling again, good though. Overall, I'm glad to have tried it, but won't be going out of the way for it again anytime soon

My boyfriend and I were super excited to try a new place for breakfast and loved the variety of…read morepastries available at this bakery, especially since a lot of nearby cafes don't have a lot of great food options. I ordered a 16oz iced oat milk mocha and loved how perfectly the chocolate was incorporated into my drink! It tasted sweet and the coffee added the robust flavour I love in my mochas My boyfriend had never tried a Moroccan Fog before and he loved how sweet it was without him having to add sugar. He especially loved that it had just the right amount of mint flavoring without being toothpaste For breakfast, I ordered their fruit danish! I love that they had different options of fruit to pick from and I chose blueberry! The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how fresh the blueberry tasted. My boyfriend ordered the chocolate croissant because he was excited at the idea of the chocolate being piped through the croissant and also drizzled over the top, but it turns out the dark brown parts on top are just design and not more chocolate. Still, he was pleased with the amount of chocolate in the croissant and the bite I had was heavenly. The champagne cake caught my eye as I was ordering and I just had to try a bite, it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved how light the cake was and the layers of flavour through the whole dessert! I love how bright and airy the cafe is! My boyfriend and I were easily able to find seating by the windows and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the space needle and people watching as we shared breakfast. The staff here was also patient and welcoming. We'll definitely have to come back and try more of their pastries!!

I'm here for coffee. I did not try any pastry as I was having lunch much later…read more Coffee was good. For a single barista who also did all food orders, she was quick. Coffee is good but not a wow. Food like the croissants seems to be not fresh. They did not have the look of freshly baked considering it was around 9am. Not sure but did not have the glow or lopk when I see a pastry. Nice place though. Lots of tables and space. They were busy.

I can't stop thinking about the Porchetta I ordered to bring my family Christmas party. It was…read morecooked the way I liked it. Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Since it was a Filipino family party, I served it with some Filipino lechon sauce to dip in. Totally was a hit at the party, especially with my parents, aunts and uncles. The owners of Gola's kitchen are a husband and wife duo. Osiris handles all the production of events and the marketing of the business. Her husband Michal is the chef. I met the pair at another dinner event they had hosted and it was the set up of the party that first caught my eye. The table was set up with beautiful colors and the table setting had a vintage cottage feel. When the food finally came out I fell in love and knew I had to get the pair's contact. They were both very nice. Talking to them you instantly knew how passionate they are about food. We talked about their travels to Europe and all the different food events they've hosted around Seattle. Michal is from Czechoslovakia and Osiris is Filipino American. They pull flavors and influence from both sides and are able to whip up something magical. If you are looking for a catering company, look no further! Weddings, work events, dinner parties, Gola's Kitchen is the one you are looking for. My brother is planning a wedding and I have already threw their names in the mix.

We decided to build our own menu looking at all of the fabulous dishes on their diverse and ethnic menu because we wanted some of everything! Before we committed, Osiris invited us over for a tasting at their house to help us decide and we were sold! For our main dishes we chose the Adobe BBQ Chicken and Pork Barbacoa - both were a huge hit according to our 105 guests! They made sure to bring plenty of food for our buffet and we never ran out of anything. They packaged all leftover food for us to take home at the end of the night so we had extra and nothing went to waste. Osiris pre-plated me and my husbands food so we could eat right when we sat down so we could get a head start before other wedding events began. I was very impressed with the buffet and table presentation they set up and of course the delicious food! Their staff were very friendly, professional and discrete. We will be going to them again for future events! Thank You for Everything - Emily and Todd Mayne!! 09-06-2019
