This little gem was recommended by a winemaker friend of mine. He nailed it! Awesome! Coffee very good too. Baker and Cook have great baked goods and delicious food for breakfast and lunch. The menu is a bit limited but I enjoy going there occasionally. They sometimes do special dinners but I haven't tried them. The prices are moderately expensive the the quality is excellent. Much of the produce is locally sourced, fresh farm-to-table veggies, I believe. The service is friendly and efficient but limited. You order your food and they bring it to you. The ambiance is clean and modern but not particularly cozy. They have outdoor seating in the back, and a few tables and a little counter facing the front window, inside. This was our first time in Sonoma (from the Bay Area) and we're so glad we tried out this new little spot. Service: Warm & welcoming, super relaxed environment Coffee: Strong, with citrus/tangy notes in the espresso. It comes served in stoneware mugs and stayed hot for the half hour we were there. Food: This is where it shined for us. I got the heirloom beans, sautéed greens & eggs and my boyfriend got the turkey bagel with lemon cream cheese. Every part of the dishes had a purpose. I was so surprised by how flavorful and well-balanced my dish was. Even the greens had a purpose and weren't just an afterthought. Came up for a wedding and wanted to give this place a shot. Absolutely screaming. Ordered the butter croissant, Nutella Donut, Smoked Ham & Cheese sandwich with a latte. Finally they are open for business. I bought a few items but only tried the BLT and lemon bar as the rest is for the lady at home. The BLT was really good. A must have for BLT lovers like myself. The lemon bar was good but I prefer my lemon treats to be lip smackin tart...this one was more sweet. This place--were it to be located in The Square or any other more accessible location-- would make a killing with locals and tourists. Guaranteed, there would be a line out the door. Found this place on Yelp while in Sonoma Ca for an appointment. It is a small place with some indoor seating but a very nice outdoor patio. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. My sister ordered the biscuits and gravy plate and I had a breakfast sandwich. A very fresh side of arugula with a lemon vinaigrette dressing was served with each of our orders. The food was delicious. The scrambled eggs were the fluffiest I have ever eaten and the salad was so refreshing. My sister loved the biscuits as they were very flaky and were not the typical bland biscuit. They had a nice flavor that was very well balanced with the gravy. Baker and Cook is fabulous in every way. The friendly staff (shout out Alex and Nico!) are always welcoming and kind, and have great memories for what we normally order. Bottom line: Good food but on the more expensive side and involved a pretty long wait. Food: We had the cooked breakfast foods (french toast, biscuits and gravy, and a sandwich) and they were all well done and tasty. Drinks: We had a latte and dirty chai- both were pretty good but on the small size for the price (about $5 a drink) Service: Friendly but the food took ~35 min to come out and the drinks came out first- hence, the drinks were lukewarm by the time the food came out and that is a fairly long time to wait to get food on a weekday morning.
