Teri Burns was my design consultant. I asked for her after reading her reviews. She was patient, knowledgeable and showed rug samples that I asked for. My rug was 20 years old, she showed me one newer style, a little different, so happy cause loved it. Took samples home, my daughter chose same one and very happy with. Shetold us about sales etc. Gave us price for padding and carpet. It was an insurance claim, she took care of everything. You are fortunate to have her as an employee. Spent 12K on new flooring. Some of the flooring is coming apart. Contacted Baker Brothers and was told "Sorry the manufacturer of your flooring is out of business, so we won't repair your floor". I you are thinking about buying from Baker Brothers run away as fast as you can. read more

Although I am happy with our new flooring, the buying experience could have been much better. We were given an estimate, signed the contract, and then were informed there was a "mistake" and the correct price was almost $2000 more. We liked the product and needed it soon, so we reluctantly agreed to the new price. The installation was flawless and on time. However the estimate on the number of boxes we needed was also way off - we have 3 extra unopened boxes of flooring at over $100 per box. Non returnable. We also have an additional partial box which would have been a reasonable amount of excess. The bottom line, it ended up costing much more than we were first quoted. Mesa store on Baseline. UPDATE: Management reconsidered our situation and made an adjustment to our cost. Kudos to the owner for being responsive to our concerns. read more

Karla and the others who work there at Baker Bros Area Rugs, etc. we order tile for our home in our 3 bedrooms and closets. Karla was able to accommodate our needs of finding a tile that was discontinued at Lowes, but she was able to locate one very very similar in color and style almost a perfect match and was able to order it for us prior to our time guys coming in to do our home on a weekend. Customer Service at its very very best. We couldn't be happier with our choice in choosing Baker Bros. Store off Baseline and Ellsworth! Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the store, but this store Rocks!! Ask for Karla or any other associate there as they all are very helpful and informative and had a good eye for tastes and our likes were heard from the get-go. Great service from the moment we walked into the store. Christine was knowledgeable and helpful with making our selection. Offered us samples to take home so we could decide on the color that would work best in our room. She followed up with us between our ordering and installation. Even had suggestions for a new vacuum cleaner that will help maintain our carpet for a longer life. Installation crew showed up right on time, and did a great job. Do NOT use this company! Horrible customer service. The installers left my house FILTHY every day they were in my home. Below are photos of the mess. Most of the areas In the pictures were not even in the rooms they were working in. They left feces in my bathroom and did not even flush the toilet. The sales woman did say she would speak to them, but nothing changed in the following days. The corporate office is a complete joke! I stopped in on Sept 5, 2019 to look at some carpet. LeAnn assisted me and was helpful in answering questions, looking up information. She said she has worked there for 18 years and seems pretty knowledgeable. I brought with me and exact diagram and layout of all areas to be carpeted. The diagram included all doorways, windows, stairs closets etc and all measurements for everything. When I landed on a carpet we had found at another store I gave her the info on paper. She began by offering me the extended warranty Baker Bros offers above and beyond the manufacturer. I declined this due to the fact we move so often, as well as I clean my own carpets etc. She pushed a little harder but I declined still. I gave her the exact yards needed 138. This had been confirmed by two other companies as well as my own measurements and the likely hood of seams needed. She gave me the retail price of the carpet and declined to give me their true offer price unless I had their individual who measures come out. Not even a rough estimate other than - We will likely discount it up to another 20%. - The price she quoted was nearly $2,000 more than other companies for like grades, weights, and padding. Since she would not give me their discounted rate that is all I can go on in this review. My assumption is that she felt I was shopping for each companies best price to then try and negotiate an even better deal. But this is not how I operate, and I don't play games. Whatever your offer is, that is what it is. I will then go with who I feel has been honest, straightforward, and most helpful, can answer questions about how their installations go, along with pricing. In the world of carpet and flooring the carpet is important but the installer is going to really determine about 90% of how you felt about the whole process. You can buy the most expensive, beautiful carpet in the world. But if your installer damages your house, leaves a mess, doesn't stretch or tack properly, etc Your brand new flooring is going to look bad, as well as not hold up properly over the long run. She said she would talk to the owner and get me some pricing though other than that $10,000+ pricing. 4 days later and still no call. We have decided to go with another company who has been straightforward, very helpful, had great selections, has had their installers working for them for many years, and answered or found the answers to any question I had. They are a locally owned small business. I called them and will finalize my business with them on Monday. Sept 16, 2019. LeAnn reached out and left a voicemail letting me know she had sent a quote. I did not receive it so I'm not sure where it went to. They do have my correct email, and it wasn't in the junk folder. I did call her back per her request and let her know we hadn't received it. DO NOT buy from this store and/or company. We ordered 2 very expensive runners and they both came in not straight at all and EXTREMELY NOTICABLE! Actually embarrassing. I sent them videos and photos back and forth over and over. At first they tried to claim they didn't see it but it is so noticeable that they had to acknowledge that they are NOT straight. They kept having other people call me then they came back and wanted me to try to stretch it straight with duck tape??? They said if they tried to make another one it might be crooked as well???? Really.... then how do they make the rug we bought straight?? Finally they said over time it may stretch and straighten out but they will not make it right and take care of the customer like an honorable company would. Our guests who see it are amazed that they aren't correcting this situation and vow never to show here EVER!!!! read more

Poor customer service! I drove 30 minutes to this location right after getting off the phone with someone that told me they could resize and rebind a rug. What I wasn't told is that they only offer this service to people who have purchased rugs through them. Definitely not buying a rug through them after this experience. Ok for rugs. DON'T order tile. They won't take it back if you don't use it, as all tile is "special order". Very frustrating as they recommended the tile and the color was all wrong. read more

We had a good experience with Baker Bros. Flooring, with one issue. We were in the market to replace some "builders carpet" with hardwood flooring and stopped in to the Mesa location one day as we were driving by. The selection of products was very good and the pricing, while not inexpensive, seemed reasonable for what we wanted. At the time of the purchase we scheduled the installation for several weeks out to allow for delivery of the product and working into our travel schedule. When it came to the scheduled time for installation, I followed up to verify the plan. It turned out that the install had not been entered into their schedule. It ended up happening a few days later than planned. The installers were great and finished three rooms in one day with high quality. Overall the experience was good, I would advise that you stay on top of the installation schedule. read more

I called with exact measurements, the brand, style, and color of carpet that I was looking for and they would not review pricing with me over the phone and insisted that I instead visit their store. Luckily for me there are plenty of other places willing to provide me with a quote so that I can narrow down where I would like to purchase from. This review is for the location in Dana Park in Mesa, AZ. Their long-standing (at least a couple of years) salesmen are the worst. Asked the salesman if there was a picture for the wood-like porcelain tile and he told me to buy a box for $100. When I told him it would be way to heavy to carry he suggested I can buy the box and take out one tile at a time. Asked him for the name of the company so that I could look it up on possibly a website. He wouldn't say - found it myself it was Emser tile. Baker Bros. only uses their distributor name. Very condescending attitude. I would not buy from this store because of their salespersons. Went to Monterey Tile on Baseline in Mesa and received exceptional service. Lisa is fantastic and helped me tremendously with my purchase. read more

We had vinyl planks installed throughout our 2100 sq ft home and on the first day they took out all of the baseboards. Our salesperson said they would be undercut. The installers had to remove the tile in the kitchen and so plastic was put up. But that was removed when they had to use a BROOM to sweep up all the dust. Where was the vacuum?? So now we have dust everywhere, especially on our newly painted walls. When baseboards were re-installed, they were not put back to look like what they were when we bought the house. After trying to reach our salesman for 2 weeks to talk to him about these and other concerns, we find out he was on vacation (every hear of updating voice mail message?!?) Overall, I would be very hesitant to use this company again. read more

We needed to get carpeting for our new home and chose Baker Brothers because we thought it was a reputable company. We painted the rooms and put in new base boards before the carpet was laid. The installers did a horrible job. There are more than 17 places on the walls and floor boards that were damaged during the installation. When we told Baker Brothers about the damage, and even sent them pictures documenting the damage they said they would get back to us. So far it has been more than a week and no response to our phone calls and emails. Clearly they do not care about their customer's satisfaction or rectifying a job poorly done. We are very disappointed as we spent a good deal of money with this company. We would not recommend Baker Brothers in Mesa to anyone. read more
