I've been there are several times and I've been disappointed. We decided to go back and try it and now it did not work out most of us ordered salads and my salad did not come out. It took 20 minutes and I had to just Romain lettuce, the waitresses answer was the kitchen told her the spring mix was romaine lettuce.! then I had ordered a brisket sandwich what came out was a brisket plate. It looked good but I wanted the sandwich. It was sent back. The manager took it and when the sandwich came back, it was completely brisket fat. I pushed it around my plate nd ate very little of it. We walked in to the restaurant and didn't notice any employees around. There was a room with a big square bar and booths around the perimeter so we grabbed a booth. There were several tvs mounted around the room, each with a different sports game playing. It was not noisy but not quiet. The waitress came over and apologized for the wait. I ordered a peach sangria which was delicious but did not contain the fruit mentioned on the menu. The French onion ale Soup was quite good as were the burger And fries. Definitely would like to come back, perhaps during happy hour to take advantage of the lower prices. read more

You're going to find bar food on the menu here as well as small selection of american wine. But the real surprise here is the pizza-- they have a really decent pizza, done right with a light airy crust in a wood burning oven. Service is good too. read more

We've driven by this place many times and have wanted to stop in and tonight we did. The place was not crowded as far as tables go. The bar was very crowded. We were seated at a table near the bar. My biggest complaint was that it was very loud and I would have preferred to sit elsewhere. But I ordered the chicken pot pie, which is one of my favorite meals and was very good. The best part, no peas. Husband has the brisket mac & cheese, which was very good and portion was enough for 2. Service was good and our waiter was great. The only other issue was that our meals came with soup or salad and we had to ask the waiter for it because he forgot, not a big deal. I had the cream of potato, again very good. Husband has the salad. We def will not back and hopefully it will be a little quieter. read more

Once upon a time I had a 5 star review for this place. Haven't been there in a while...ordered a medium burger it was rare. like super rare. I ate what I could around the cooked edges. I showed the waitress and I did eat what I could but she didn't care much and charged me full price without getting a manager. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned in weeks, if not months. Went after work one day after not coming here for probably 10 years. This was only my second time here. The place looks similar to how it did in the past and wasn't very crowded, but there were definitely people at the bar. They sat us in the back room and we were the only table there. We started off with some drinks- a couple of margaritas and the white Cosmo weren't bad at all. Then we got food. A bunch of people got pizzas, which they said were delicious ok, a burger - also decent but the fries weren't great and were kind of soggy. Definitely more of a dive bar type environment. Our waitress was really nice and she was attentive, but let us hang out without rushing us to leave. It served our purpose for going out after work, but definitely a more casual vibe. read more

Started going to Baker's last spring with my family and my sister and cousins and I decided to meet there every month since. I generally have the steak tips appetizer for lunch and they are always cooked perfectly. Seating is good, the food is excellent and the service was awesome. Matthew was outstanding and accommodated all of us. He even made a fresh pot of coffee for us with the dessert, the bread pudding is good but not as good as the cheesecake I got to share with my sister that was so delicious I kept wanting more. The only complaint was it was just a bit chilly but the atmosphere was nice, music was audible yet soft, so we could talk without yelling. Now I don't give 5 stars unless I get the perfect NY Strip, chicken parmigiana, pastrami sandwich or best home fries in the world. So remember 4 stars is pretty good for me. If you like a good old comfort food restaurant, Bakers is a good solid place. Remember that this isn't necessarily gourmet food but if you want solid American grub it's a good idea to eat at Baker's The barbecue is very good, they do the entire smoker thing. The burgers are also very good. They have a pizza oven for bar pies that to me are a maybe a 6-7 out of ten but I'm a pizza snob. They are definitely not a frozen pie much better and people seem to like them even in NJ. The service is always good and the Heineken is cold. Don't go for the decor go for some solid down home food. My wife and I took our son and his wife here on Mother's Day. It was very disappointing. They were not busy. When we arrived, we were seated within 5 minutes. This is when things got worse. It took more than 15 minutes for someone to take our drink, appetizer and meal order. Another 10 minutes passed before we got our drinks. Several minutes later we got our appetizer. We ordered the pretzel, so it's not like we had 4 different appetizers. Approximately 35 minutes later, our food order was served. What surprised me is how one table over from where we were sitting, a group of 4 people were seated about 15 minutes after we were seated. Our food order basically consisted of hamburgers and a nacho platter. The group at the next table got basically the same thing. I cannot understand how they got their food delivered much sooner than we got our food. Again, it was not busy, so I have to believe that our server simply forgot about us. When the food arrived, it was lukewarm at best. This was not the first time that we have had a disappointing experience here. Took my family for a Birthday. Party of 10. One good burger, two good pulled pork sandwiches. Four really terrible steaks. Cold, uneven portions, French fries were like wet noodles. Two chicken wraps were terrible. Bill was incorrect in reference to the adult drinks. Not an enjoyable experience. Manager took overcharges off bill. Let me start by saying that this review only concerns the meal I had there recently, namely the barbecue. In general, my experiences with this restaurant have been more positive. However, last night didn't measure up. My wife and I ate there for my birthday last evening, and the experience wasn't all that good. On the positive side, the appetizer we shared (kielbasa and pirogies) was quite good, and the side dishes with my meal (coleslaw and pinto beans) were also good. I won't comment on the egg pizza my wife ordered, because, even though she didn't like it, it could well be a matter of taste. However, the ribs I ordered were entirely unsatisfactory. While the portion was huge, and this was just a half rack, the ribs had little or no taste, and they were very dry. Were they over-cooked? In addition, I didn't tase any smoke flavor, even though the waitress assured me they were smoked. In my opinion, they need to put a dry rub on the ribs, and they need to mop them frequently, which will give them more flavor and keep them moist. Bottom line: If you go to this restaurant, don't order the barbecue! Other food I have had there has been quite good, but the barbecue was a big disappointment. read more

Been about a year since last ate at Baker's. Visited this past Tuesday (7/8) at 4:30pm, so the place was not crowded yet. The food was good as remembered, but there was an over abundance of flies and of course since we were early they pounced on our booth. It was very annoying constantly shooing them away. We alerted the Manager upon leaving. Not sure I'm rushing to go back there, as flies usually mean lack of cleanliness. read more

Went twice so far and liked them so much the first time that I came the second time for my birthday. The burnt ends are to die for and worth coming just for those. French onion soup is very good (like it usually is no matter where you go). And I liked the sides too, corn bread was sweet and moist, BBQ sauce was so good I was dipping my fingers in it after I ran out of meat, and the beans were sweet and smokey like they should be. Not bad for a dive bar and restaurant. Expected the worst after seeing 2.5 stars but came out pleasantly surprised. Took a bit of time to accommodate a party of 8 but our server Connor was awesome and attentive. Nachos were a high tower of deliciousness. Thai chili wings were wet and crispy. The Bavarian pretzel was okay. The Oklahoma burger was supposed to be smashed with thin onions but it wasn't really. Still good. The cracked egg pizza was simply a cheesy breakfast pizza with eggs on it. Interesting but wouldn't order again. I'm not a fan of the new 2023 menu update. I used to regularly order the Brisket Mac & Cheese as an appetizer for $14. I literally dined here just for that. They have now made it a meal by only adding a side of two pickle slices, a small plastic condiment cup of collards, and a small plastic condiment cup of baked beans. I don't eat any of the extras, the dish is served in the same size cast iron pan (same amount of brisket Mac & cheese, and the new price is now $19. Also, either it's a fluke or the recipe changed slightly. The brisket used to have a slight sweet taste as if there was a bit of bbq sauce on it and now it was without that...tasted plain. The dish was formally a "10" in my opinion but now I'd rate it a "7" with the changes. So, good but not great. I wish they would have left this dish as is. I'm not as inclined to go back now and will be looking for a new favorite and try other places that I haven't been to yet. read more

Stopped in here completely by chance and was very surprised. Got the bbq combo pulled pork and brisket which comes with baked beans, collard greens, cornbread and a side. The collard greens, beans and pulled pork were on par with anything I've gotten in actual Texas, the brisket was good but I'd probably try something else next time. Coming from the midwest I was blown away by their ranch which I had on some solid onion rings. Great family diner/pub spot if you're in the area. read more

I don't know what happened but I came here about a year ago and the food and service were great. I then went months later and my food was mediocre and service was meh. My kids got the chicken tenders and it was weird. I thought they were being kids when they complained about it but for sure - weird. Like it was chewy and gross. We went here with some old colleagues to catch up after a while. We had some appetizers that were good and service was ok near the bar area. The food is good the prices are ok. The only thing is you cant go to late since they stop serving food at 930 or 10 pm even on weekends. We've not had a bad experience here and the service has always been pleasant and professional. They've a happy hour specials during weekdays and for now also have specials running during NFL game nights/weekends. They've a large parking lot on premise. Over all, this place is clean, welcoming, with friendly service and big screen TV's all over so it does feel like a sports bar but with a family atmosphere. read more

randomly decided to try this place... and we were blown away! it was decently busy for a wednesday afternoon, so that already tells you something. it smelled like really good bbq before you even walk in. the ambiance is a bit dark inside, but lots of tvs to watch sports. we got the burnt ends brisket for appetizer and it was so good. so tender and full of flavour! i got street tacos and my partner got short rib grilled cheese. we were both really happy with our food. the bbq flavour was amazing. both were tender and juicy. the dessert was a melt in your mouth brownie! also, drinks were $5 for happy hour and quite strong! where else can get buzzed for $5? we will definitely be back!! read more

As you can see, I received raw hamburger instead. The burnt ends I ordered had potential in terms of flavor but they were totally dry.
