Edit: Corie, the Customer Relations Manager from the Jeep dealership called me after I left my review and apologized for the inconvenience. She was great and really worked to rectify the situation. I had a battery replaced in my Jeep and a few weeks later the check engine came back on. I took my car to be serviced and was told that the engine was fine, but the software needed to be updated. I asked for an estimate for updating the software and the service advisor told me that I would be charged approximately $260. I objected that the cost seemed high. Reluctantly, I told the service advisor that I needed my car repaired. When I went to pick up my car, I again told the service advisor that the price was too high and asked if there was a recall for the software. The service advisor said that there was a "technical bulletin" and she called the service manager. The service manager told me that if I didn't like the price then I should have objected when the service advisor provided a repair estimate, and that she could not alter the price afterwards. I told her that I did object to the price beforehand, but she didn't seem to care. I told her that the dealership charged too much to install software that Jeep provides for free. The service manager was unsympathetic and told me that they needed to recoup the cost to certify the techs for these kind of repairs. read more

Horrible service. Had a small issue with my car and they were unable to resolve an issue. They claimed to fix my issue and charged me an arm and a leg. Later on found out the issue they fixed was not the problem. Returned it back to jeep and left my vehicle in the shop for 2 week. They never offered a rental. Picked up as it. Took it to Visalia Jeep and resolved the issue within a day. Visalia jeep said to go to Bakersfield jeep for a refund of the issue. Didn't want to refund me for the issue they "fixed." Also, they did not want to do an oil change because I arrived at 4:28. I mentioned that I called and said I will be there before 4:30. Their last appointment. They didn't want to honor it, but did. Hopefully, if you have a jeep, you won't ever need service from this service department. It is extremely hard to actually get a hold of anyone, and when you do, it often doesn't get you any information. The advisors also either don't know any idea of how long the services take, or they intentionally lie to you about when your vehicles are projected to be ready. It honestly wouldn't be that big of an issue if it wasn't super difficult to get in touch with anyone and get updates on your vehicle. I had a very unpleasant experience with Jaye. He was inappropriate, flirtatious, very touchy, and I felt very uncomfortable with him my entire time talking with him. It's literally the reason why I left the store and went Somewhere else to look at different cars. I tried to get help from someone else, but Jay would not leave me alone, and no one seemed to notice that I was uncomfortable. So unfortunately I missed out on getting my dream Jeep, and took my money elsewhere. Jeep, I suggest you look into the background and behavior of your employee Jaye. There's something not right there. And coming from someone who has professional experience in picking out predatory behavior, as well as just general sliminess, I know what I'm talking about. And I really hope that you guys take this seriously. You lost my business because of that, and I'm so far shared it with everyone I know, especially all of my female friends, so that they never step foot into that dealership ever again and have to go through what I went through. Bought my second jeep there in 2020 and they only wanted to give me one key for the car when I was turning in two keys for my trade in to the previous jeep. Told them I'm from LA and was only there for the day. The jeep I was purchasing only had one key so I told them I wanted a second key, it was a hassle convincing them but they finally agreed and told me to come a different day because keys take 3+ hours to program or whatever so I agreed. When I went back I went asking employee by employee and at the end of the day the answer was no when I told them they literally agreed to it and I just attitude from everyone acting like I was lying and or crazy. I bought a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Edition 3 1/2 years ago, had to bring it to the dealership for service, turns out at only 80,000 miles it needs the transmission replaced, water pump replaced, AC replaced AND the engine mounts replaced. Dealership has had my vehicle over 3 weeks and still not repaired and no date in sight. Also have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited I bought here, numerous fuel injectors have had to be replaced, gas intake, windshield wiper motor, oil gaskets, etc. Don't buy a Jeep and definitely don't use this dealership. read more

BEWARE: The buying experience though was dishonest, money-hungry, and if you aren't checking everything, they will put every charge they can into your sales contract, for example a Mopar Service Plan that is 4x the cost it would normally be. Get a jeep. Don't hate yourself enough yet? Don't worry, Bakersfield Jeep hates you more. You want to wait 5+ hours for an oil change? Bakersfield Jeep will make sure you wait 6+. Got that extended warranty to cover all those costly repairs? Bakersfield Jeep will make sure it takes at least a week (after your appointment date) before you get the diagnostic done and find out if the warranty covers the issue. Don't worry though, they'll also make sure not to update you at all and will avoid your calls when you try to get an update yourself. This dealership is such trash that I know multiple people that have traded in their Jeeps so they didn't have to deal with the dealership. At this point we're just going to have to file a complaint with their corporate office. read more

I have had my Chrysler Pacifica in the service center for going on 2 weeks now. The service department did a diagnostic that cost over $200 and told us that they could not continue with the diagnostics until we fixed the shifter knob - where you put the car in park, drive etc...and mind you we had not had ANY problem with this at all prior to them telling us there was a problem, so we paid so that we could get our diagnostics. The shifter knob cost us over $800 to fix and they told us everything came out fine with their diagnostics but that same day the check engine light came back on again and when we took it back they told us we would have to pay for another diagnostics...when they had just told us everything was supposedly fixed. Since this supposed fix we have been stranded twice with my car on but the shifter knob not wanting to work. We took it back and then after a week spoke with the service manager and asked that she just have the part fixed that we paid them to fix, and that we expect it not cost us to repair something that was already supposedly repaired. I also asked her to please keep in communication with us, but we have left at least two messages and have yet to hear back from anyone from the service department. Would not recommend buying a car from this dealership just because you would have to deal with this services department. read more

Went to look into buying a Jeep Rubicon or a Jeep Wrangler and were instead talked into a certified preowned 2019 Grand Jeep Cherokee. A week from purchasing it, it broke down while I was on the way to work. The starter and water pump needed to be fixed. It also had issues with the mechanical mechanism of the driver's seat and the seat belts. Now the sunroof is stuck and doesn't want to open. The manager of the dealership was made aware of the many problems with this car and did nothing to help us fix them. I would never buy a car from this dealership new or used. I don't even want to give them one star. Beware they're only out for your money and once you buy a car they don't care. read more

This is our family car with two young kids. We tried to have it serviced they said 48hrs just to diagnose it, then who knows how long to fix. A TWELVE person waiting list for loaners. I would like to start out with saying that I have been coming to this location since 2006 and have had great customer service for the majority of it. Recently I brought my vehicle in for an issue that I had pointed out when doing the initial intake. All but touching the actual part, I explained in detail what I thought the issue was and why. I received a phone call shortly after explaining a part was on order and they offered me the option to rush the part for an additional $28, which I approved. I received another call 3 days later saying it was ready and I came the following day after. (Much aster then I originally expected, especially factoring in the nationwide issues with part shortages and shipping during COVID). Picking up the vehicle, the service representative who took my payment was prompt and courteous and I was out of there in a timely fashion. I have always appreciated that at this location. After I took possession of my vehicle, I went to grab a bite to eat and by the time it took to go through the drive thru, my engine bay was smoking. I pulled into the parking lot, popped the hood and saw the same leak, same problem I had brought it in for had not been repaired. I reviewed the paperwork and noticed that the ticket said that a repair was done to a fuel line leak and not a coolant leak, which I was not aware that there was even an issue with. I took it back in less then 15 minutes from pick up and the same service writer came out and asked if he could help, I told him the issue had not been fixed and he went to go get a supervising mechanic who took a quick look at it and described back to me the exact issue I had originally brought it in for. I was told to write down my complaint in my own words on the service ticket. This delay and negligence is what prompted me to write this review. Admittedly, partially my fault. The management contacted me with an apology and we came to a solution that was satisfactory to us both. A rush repair was done to my vehicle, and I am happy with the manner they handled it. Bottom line: 1. Make sure your complaint is on the ticket before you leave the vehicle and in your own words, or at least written to your satisfaction. Do not trust that they write down what was said or even heard you at all. They don't apparently. (I do hope that concurrent training will correct the service writer's future performance, everyone deserves a second chance). 2. Don't be afraid to talk with the management. They impressed me with their immediate willingness to fix the problem and were easy to communicate with. Sometimes they are not aware of any problems unless you bother to notify them. 3. Check that the repairs have been done to the best of your ability and ask a mechanic come check the repair with you if you have any questions prior to accepting the vehicle. They were willing to answer all of my concerns the second time I picked it up. I understand honest mistakes happen and sometimes things can be overlooked, so don't be afraid to ask. I will add they were able to find and repair an additional issue to a fuel line leak that I was unaware of and appreciate them catching it. Though I was a little frustrated and spent more time waiting for the repairs to be done, they handled the situation well. They earned 4 stars, (4 1/2 if it was an option) and I look forward to returning to 5-star service. read more

I always take my Jeep to Hunter Dodge in Lancaster, but they didn't have any appointments available for over a month so I took a chance and called here. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to get me in the beginning of next week. David was my advisor and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I thought my transmission was going out, but I just needed new motor mounts. Lancaster said they were 1,000 a piece but David said they were covered under my warranty and it only cost me $100. David was a lifesaver and my repairs were completed the same day. Excellent experience, and will definitely be coming back here in the future. read more

Months ago, I let it pass and took their word for it even if I have noticed obvious signs of underdelivering what I paid for. Today I went in again with a half heart but I still hoped things would be better this time. I asked for an oil change, tire rotation, and cabin filter change. Of course they were very accommodating and pleasant when speaking with you and reassuring the services you requested will get done. So then after waiting for almost 2hrs, they called me, charged me for the service, and gave back my keys. I turned my jeep wrangler on and immediately checked my tire pressure and to my surprise, the pressure on each tire remained the same on the exact same spot from where they were before I brought it in. So I went back to the representative's office to ask if the tire rotation was indeed done, she walked out and checked with her mechanics and came back assuring that they have done it saying "the mechanic almost even slipped doing it." So I explained to her if they did it, my tire pressure for each tire should have changed location on my dash screen and the markings I placed on each tire shouldn't have stayed in the same spot. She immediately responded about me having to mark it only on one side so i would not notice that it was rotated and all that "kind of expert" explanation. (How do you even know how I marked my tires?). But I am not dumb, I know how to fix my own car, change my own oil, rotate my own tires and change cabin filters myself. But because i have the money to avail a service that people are doing as their source of living, I went to a service center to get my money's worth (but I didn't say this 'coz I don't want to sound rude). She immediately offered to inflate my tires' pressure or equalize everything and offered if I wanted to see their video footage of the whole service I paid for being done to re-assure me. So I waited again for them to come back. As soon as the customer relations officer came, she told me that apparently they didn't have a video capture of my car's service and she was fast in offering to rotate my tires right then and there. Again? But why would they offer to do that again if they are really confident in their people and service they provide? So I told them yes please do what I've paid for. Sadly, this is the WORST, not only Jeep service center, but car service center in general that I've ever experienced. Not just once, but twice. read more

I did get a message asking for permission to perform an unnecessary additional $500 repair of my AC evaporator. Which worked fine before they were given the vehicle. I called today, only to get voicemail, and received a text saying "no Jeep today, the tech is behind". I am very unhappy so far with the service provided. The last time I brought my vehicle in for a safety recall, they literally sat on parts they forgot to put back when they brought my vehicle around. The tech got out handed me the key, and there were parts left on the driver seat. They took it back around and likely threw the parts away, because they came back 10 minutes later saying they installed them. read more

Omar did everything he could to make sure I was able to get back out on the road, before the shop closed by getting a part from a nearby warehouse and going above and beyond to be kind and resolve my unfortunate circumstances.
