We thought we were having problems with our motorhome transmission so we took it to the Bakersfield Truck Center. Travis assigned Eugene to diagnose the problem. Eugene rode in the motorhome with me for two hours with his computer hooked up. He did not find any problems. We did not have an appointment, but Travis immediately tasked Eugene to help us out. If I could give 0 stars I would!! Bakersfield truck center has literally gone to the DOGS!! I will NEVER spend another cent there! I was there today for a part and there was only 1 person in line in front of me. It took the workers 25 minutes to even acknowledge my presence and after that it took another 20 minutes to help me which of course was a fail. We own several Freightliners and need to buy more. When you can get help, it works out just fine. But you can hardly get anyone to answer the phone. You literally have to drive there to ask a simple question and their automated answering service is highly inaccurate. Example: "your wait time is less than 1 minute" but you'll be on hold for over 10 minutes without anyone to speak with... long enough to hang up and try again for the same exact issue. It could be an issue when trying to schedule a truck for maintenance. Ask your local mechanic who just orders parts and they will even say their customer service is lacking. read more

We cannot give enough praise for this place. Our 43' RV broke down and was towed here. We were expecting the worse based on the reviews but we didn't have much of a choice. The very next morning, Travis introduces himself and obtained some preliminary information and said the RV expert will be in at 8am. Promptly at 8am, Eugene (Mark) was at the door. Did i mention they allowed us to stay on the property in the RV, during this time?? 2 nights. Anyhow, He found the problem within minutes and gave us our options. Turns out it would have taken a week to get the part in but knowing we needed to get back home from vacation, Travis and Eugene gave a recommendation to get us back on the road (safely of course). To make matters even more complicated, the exact part we needed was not sold as an individual part. But, Travis did some digging and found one to be overnighted the next morning... on a Saturday. Travis and Eugene do Not typically work on weekends. But these two outstanding individuals came in on their time off on a Saturday and got this knocked out for us. We cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond to help us in a dire situation. I would highly recommend this for any RV freightliner issues. Outstanding service and outstanding staff. On a side note, my husband was pretty adamant about going to the Cummins repair but Ten West Towing recommended. Sure glad they did. read more

I don't know what's happening but Bakersfield truck Center is really dropping the ball. There's no need to have a sour and salty attitude things are tense as it is and you guys having that attitude just really makes nothing better. Be solid with your quotes and keep them. I wrote down the number I come to the store and I get a different price know if you guys are having I problems and what not I'm sure you have good benefits to go get that checked out. Wait times are also extremely long. You guys obviously don't care about helping the next customer obviously you guys are not happy but I can't say that about all of you guys there's one shorter fella in there that's a real go-getter and he's an older gentleman in the front parts counter. I recently had a very expensive RV serviced under warrantee repair and as far as I can tell the job was done correctly, although it would appear that BTC knows very little about RV's, this is where Freightliner sent me. When I walked in to the very large business to pick up my RV, I ended up at a large counter where 5 men on computers and chatting amongst themselves did not acknowledge my existents until after about 3 minutes I interrupted them and asked if this is where I pick up my RV; I was told it was the next building over and apologized for interrupting, although they had no other customers. When I went next door, it was pretty much the same thing, the staff didn't seem to recognize me as a customer and chatted among themselves until one man asked what I was there for? As if he was annoyed that I was standing there for the last 15 minutes. He then went and got the keys and I asked if they would be bringing it up, but was told I had to go get it, which was in the back lined up with the trucks. The business is very impressive with tons of trucks being worked on and Im sure this business is very competent in what they do, but if you expect customer service or any kind of human acknowledgment or personal care, you are in the wrong place. I brought my RV back in June 2019 for a recall and had a great experience. Travis rolled out the red carpet and all staff was extremely helpful. As I have said before, this is an impressive operation with a large amount of diesel truck tractors being worked on; I always feel my RV is in competent hands here. read more

Makes me feel better reading these comments about the service team, Had to be towed in with truck being non operable over check engine turning on, and stalk switch right error fault coming up. When I picked up the truck they asked me why I brought in the truck if nothing absolutely nothing was wrong with it... then the guy at service desk says " say what you say there was nothing wrong with that truck"... yeah let me just lose time and money for the heck of it, service needs to work on attitude towards customers read more

Every time I visit Bakersfield Truck Center it feels like I have to jump through hoops just to buy parts. They make you get a ticket to get helped and the people at the front counter don't even bother calling the number. Called BTC to check up on my tractor that was in for recall work. When I called a lady answered the phone quickly and could hardly understand what she ask so I asked for the service department. She put me on hold and I waited for over 10 minutes before service picked up, then he put me on hold also. Waited another 2 minutes and finally spoke to service and of course my truck is still being looked at 4 more days and they will call when completed. read more

Their service team are the WORST, save yourself a headache and try to look elsewhere for your mechanical repairs. Was told my truck was gonna be ready by a certain time and 2 days after their telling me that there's 20 trucks ahead of me? Cmon Bakersfield freightliner, I really hope your big boss gets to read all the comments about this place and get these guys straighten out. i dont even know where to start.... this is so frustration trying to reach the parts departments and all you get is your wait is less than 1 minute and then they finally pick up and either transfer you back to the front or they hang up on you. this is freaking ridiculous. this isnt the first time im saying this about them and then the owner/ manager whatever they want to call themselfs appolgize like its going to make it any better they need to get some women in there behind the parts department at least maybe they will acknowlege someone. they need to really revamp their parts team. when i finally got hold of someone after calling 12 times and being hung up or transfered it litterally took 1min and 10 seconds to tell me they dont have it in stock. but still maybe they should dedicated a special guy to answer phones and look up parts and a special order person to take over the phone will calls and then have their parts guys on the floor and they pick up the over flow when no one is in the shop....hmmmm that might be a good idea. ahh maybe thats too much to ask for. poor service in parts shame on freightliner for allowing them to be associated. read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT Have your truck serviced or repaired here. They are lazy and will end up costing you a lot of money even when the issue is at the fault of Freightliner or their vendors. Have a 2018 Cascadia and at 80k miles the motor blew up due to connecting rod bolts coming out and ruining my engine. Obviously they weren't torqued or tightened correctly. Asked for a loaner truck as was told no, asked for the payments to be waived while the truck was in the shop. Nope still had to make full payments. So it took Bakersfield Truck center over a month and a half to fix my truck. And I was being told they were still looking for parts until I dropped in on my way back thru from Texas. Then I was told by one guy that they got the lower short block but had to switch parts over. Then was told by another guy that everything was done just needed updates and a road test after I said I was going to get a lawyer for lost wages. These people take their time with your lively good. I'm in the hole because they wanted to take their sweet time fixing my truck. Now remember every day your truck sits there they get paid b Frieghtliner while you eat the loss from your truck being down. Simply take a few extra minutes and go somewhere else. These people are lazy. UPDATE: Just went to get my truck after being told I can pick it up until midnight. Got there @ 4:40 and they say they closed the service depot at 4:30. Was told they have no way to get my keys. So I drove 4 hrs another waste of money for gas to have this game be played.. seriously avoid this place 100% UPDATE: Response to owner. That's funny because the camshaft is the one from the other engine that blew up. Your mechanics received a short block, used the other parts from the bad engine. I heard the camshaft story, I heard the waiting in a new engine story. I bet you got paid for the month and a half my truck was down right? I bet everyone at your company was paid correct? And yes my boss was in touch with you guys, He asked for a loaner truck for me to use so we both didn't loose out on money. But no you can't give us a loaner truck, and you got me $7000 in the hole over it. As many used trucks as you guys have and you just expect people to loose money, a lot of money over something that was freightliner a fault. If it was something I did or another customer did you tellin me your gonna eat the bill and fix it free? I don't think so. When it's an issue cause by the manufacturer or one of their vendors a good company would have 1. Gave us a loaner truck so we didnt loose thousands of dollars over the manufacturer caused problem or would have offered to cover at least some of the lost wages. You guys couldn't even give my boss a break in the payments while it sat, Again due to a manufacturer issue for a month and almost 3 weeks. You guys caused me to be in debt $7000. And if I can save at least one person the headache of dealing with Frieghtliner or your shop then I'll be happy. One ruck not being sold is what around $160k or more new? That will be great. Show you guys what it's like to lose money. And I'm not done yet. I'm waiting for a few lawyers to call me back so I can see how to go about getting my lost wages that could have been avoided with a loaner truck. It's sad how you treat your customers. And you act like my boss is happy with the situation. Not hardly. How would you feel to have a brand new truck and it breaks down and costs you $7000? Bills can't be paid, rent can't be paid? You would be ok with that? I doublet it. Another example, ayou buy a new car and it breaks down within the first year of getting it. Guess what, the dealerships give you a vehicle to use until the car is fixed. Exactly what you should have done for us. But it's ok in your head that I lost all this money and it put me in debt. That's just so awesome right? No it's not. To watch your credit score dive because of an issue caused by the manufacturer or it's vendor, Something you didn't have anything to do with is pretty sad. I want to give my experience with FL Bakersfield. To me, the experience is a mixture because there were good and bad points. I tried to check in at 4 pm Tuesday, but was told to come back the next morning because of the back load of trucks. I needed to fix a seemingly electrical issue on my Cascadia. I came back at 7:30 am the next morning. Then the truck was in the bay around 11 am. Diagnostic was on until 4 pm when they stopped and told me to get a motel and come back in the morning. I come back Thursday morning and the truck was still in the bay. The diagnosis was finally finished around noon. I was told the problem was the motor control computer or MCM and it would cost me $2700 for parts and labor. I thought it was more on the CPC or the communication link, so I refused the repair (Total repair bill was $4500 with other repairs). FL Bakersfield charged me $640 for 4 hrs of labor to diagnose the truck and it costed me 2 days of working time. It turns out my MCM is perfectly fine. I have no problems with the original MCM. So, it costs me money and time for incorrect diagnosis. The good thing is that I don't have the same electrical issue any more, so it (looking for a potential solution) ended up fixing the problem (for $640), but only because I refused the repairs. I think the actual 'repair' was cleaning out the connections. So the lesson here is: Don't trust FL Bakersfield experts tell you what you need done, they will try to replace every part of the truck if they can. The technicians don't know how to find the root cause of the problem, just swap out parts at your expense. Try other repair shops close by, they have much better reviews. read more

The parts department is the slowest in town each time you call they have you on hold for 15 to 30 min minimum and they pick up the phone and hang up so there I go calling again having to wait another 15 minutes and see if there even able to help me because there heavy duty truck ford parts system is always down and they have really bad customer service. read more
