The staff, especially the younger ones, are very rude. They pick and choose who follows all their signs (for how many folks can enter at a time. If you're even leaning on the door way (because there is a long wait time) they come yell at you to stand outside the door. Another time, the young woman told me to wait to order my tamales while she waited for another lady to grab the rest of her sweet bread. The way she talked down to me made me uncomfortable. I grew up with the family owners of this bakery we still keep in contact. Very great, humble, loving people. They are all very hard working you will always find them working in the bakery. Their bread, food, and drinks are always on point. (I love their tamales!) Their food, drinks, bread, and other desserts are maid daily out of scratch so it's always fresh! I been coming to this bakery for years since i travel the 60 frwy on a daily... I normally go for the " agua frescas" and from time to time ill buy a treat some days the items are better than others but non the least the items are affordable so you can by pass a mistake here and there specially after the pandemic you never know what the business is encounter behind the scene. A few months ago i order my "agua fresca" over the phone and "LUCY" owner/manager answer the phone with an attitude in a rush and sounded bothered. I proceeded to submit my order. Once she was done taking order she straight up hung up the phone & not a "Good Bye" a"Bye" a "thank you" NOTHING. Once i arrived she handed the order charged with out saying a word. I continue to take her unprofessionalism and rudeness all around and left. Few days went by I didn't go and when i returned i felt the uncomfortable feeling she wasn't interested in helping me and it continue for about 2 months On Monday 5/30 i called in a order picked it up and TIP her and left. When i took a bite of my "bean sandwich" it had jalapeños and cheese the two items I specifically didn't ask for and the "crema" i had asked for wasn't on the bread so I proceed it to call and say my order was done wrong. Again she was rude on the phone and said "we owe you a sandwich" and hung up! 6/3 on Friday i went in for 2 "agua frescas" to my surprised LUCY the owner/manager said i was no longer allowed to come in. Awww man I came in to this place early in the morning around 5:45 and bought 2 burritos and some pan dulce 21 bucks. The burritos were just ok dry and nothing special. I could see the guy warming stuff up in a microwave maybe that's why? Now to the bread. The bread I ordered was trash. All hard and 1-2 days old. What a waste of money and a big disappointment. I was hoping it was good because it really looked promising. I even asked the guy at the register if they make it every morning And he said yes. Fortunately this bakery is walking distance from my house so I really can't speak on any other pan dulce in the area but the freshness and variety of bread they offer would probably top any other place anyway. I heard that Bakery del Bajio has good tamales from an acquaintance at the gym. So, even though it's 25 minutes away from my house, I drove there today and ordered pork and beef tamales. After I drove home, I ate one each of the still hot tamales. Whoa! They were generous in size, with both masa and filling moist and flavorful. Both beef and pork were very tender and traditionally spiced. I feel like I found the promised land of tamale goodness.
