My first time at this breakfast place with a 5-10 minutes wait upon arrival. It is known for it's muffins and there are so many choices. They are all looked amazing and it's buy 5 get 1 free deal. They served regular breakfast items of breakfast sandwiches, scrambler, and omelettes. The server and hosts were nice but the service was a bit slow to get to us. The food did get serve relatively quick and plating looks good as delicious as the food. The home fries are big in size and very well done with enough crisp/softness. Let me tell you about Bakery Mill. If you want THE BEST muffins in Gainesville this is the spot! The restaurant itself is a fairly small deli and it's not this extravagantly nice place. That's not why people come. They come for the cozy mom and pop feel that you get from the staff and of course the delicious muffins. Popped in here while driving through from Florida to GA (6/17/18)- I had the Park Salad. I requested to add chicken for more protein and was a little disappointed when they said this could be done but the addition would be sliced deli meat rather than a chicken breast; needless to say I said OK (more to come on this). This salad is MASSIVE, and I love that it is served in an edible bowl! Unfortunately the bowl was very bland tasting and perhaps a little stale-ish on more central pieces, but the edges were nice a crisp and added some texture to the salad (plus it's just more fun knowing you can eat the "dish" itself). The salad ingredients themselves were vibrant and fresh and definitely pleasing for any veggie-lover. It also came with a side of toast that was similar to a classic "Texas Toast" but put simply with butter; this tasted fine but did not marry well with the flavors of the salad and seemed quite random. My wife had the Southwest Chicken Philly sandwich with sweet potato fries and gosh darnit, she had an entire chicken breast (the kind they said they couldn't add to my salad??). I might be a little bitter. Anyway, her sandwich was also just OK. The southwest seasoning on the chicken was slightly odd, I think there was a black-bean flavor involved but no actual black beans to satisfy. There was also an imbalance of ingredients - a plentiful serving of chicken but lacking in cheese. It filled the belly but was not fully satisfying. The sweet potato fries were at least very fresh-tasting (not old or soggy). The muffins were pretty amazing- you can tell they are first and foremost a bakery. The double chocolate tasted like a fluffy Devil's Foodcake; my only preference would be for some crunch by adding chocolate chips within muffin and extra chocolate, but they did have a chocolate muffin with nuts as well that may have satisfied that craving for texture but overall still a good muffin. The Pumpkin muffin was flipping fantastic with the right balance of pumpkin flavor and sweetness; I would 100% buy this again! Overall I intend to return for a quick bite whenever caught skipping through the swamp, if not just to try all of their muffin flavors !!! read more

This is one of our favorite little breakfast spots. It's by no means fancy. You're not coming here for bouvier breakfast brunch with mimosas or a build your own Bloody Mary bar. This is very diner-esque. The Mill muffins are definitely a claim to fame though. Many places actually buy these and sell them such as other coffee shops. They're delicious warmed up and lots of flavors to choose from. Go ahead and buy the Togo box where it's buy 5 get 1 free (about $11). Bring it to work or home or to a friend! They also do lunch but we usually go for the breakfast. I choose different things often but some of my favs here are a half order of biscuit and gravy (yes they do that here and I am here for it) which is a split biscuit with gravy, but I add grilled peppers & onions on top & 2 fried eggs (& it's filling). They have good omelets and country-style breakfasts. My hubs is a carb fan in the morning and he goes for 3 pancakes and a side of bacon. You can get the hot cakes in any increment. If it's not on the menu and you want to modify something, just ask and they'll likely accommodate. They're good people and the servers are very nice. They also do have loaves of bread to go or you can get their fresh bread as toast or on a sandwich as your meal. Definitely worth checking out if you're a local and supporting local business! read more

Not your typical deli - it's more of a breakfast/lunch/coffee kind of place. Decided to try a local place and saw the reviews. Didn't dissapoint - I had the breakfast wrap - OMG! I lasted until 6:00pm - loaded with eggs/sausages/cheese/potatoes (were scarce) but that's ok...the fillings were more than adequate. Coffee - bottomless cup (YES PLEASE!!!)... The display of homemade muffins (WOW!!!)...unfortunately we came back the next day and it was almost empty (but then that's a testament to how good the food is) - it moves!!! My total was $17 and the portions were enough for sharing. Three to four sensible eaters could eat on these portions and be completely satiated; that or I will be having breakfast all day or for the next couple of days. Everything was delicious--perfectly textured tasty grits, and the tasty pancakes were fluffy. good solid breakfast "old-fashioned hole in the wall" type place. The prices are REALLY good; if you're short on cash but still want something hot and full of protein they have things like a $4 breakfast sandwich option with eggs and cheese, but they also have all the big complicated options. They will also give you any of the lunch options if you want them at breakfast time and are perfectly willing to do weird stuff that's not on the menu like pastrami in scrambled eggs. They are consistently able to accommodate our party of 5-6 on Sunday mornings which I also appreciate. Couple of random warnings: the chicken breast on the Kaiser roll sandwiches seemed to be twice cooked (unless that was just yesterday?) which can make chicken breast super dry so maybe stay away from that option, and also, if you have a low tolerance for high density populations in small spaces, maybe stay away from Sunday mornings specifically cos it gets kind of beehivey in there. Some of the people I eat with always get flavored coffee so they have that as an option if that matters to you. (They have the regular kind too.) read more
