Seriously, you cannot go in here and expect to walk out without something sugary and doughy. I walked in and it's like I entered bakery heaven. Now, I have been in here before since my mom makes me come here before I visit her to pick her up Mexican sweet bread so she can have it with her "cafe con leche". But today there was an air of complete sweetness that lured me in like no other. I came in during lunch to pick up torta bread (that's what Mexican's use to make sandwiches) to make carne asada torta's since their was so much leftover carne asada from the weekend. When I walked it, it smelled sweet and delicious, and I didn't care that I was eating light this week. I had to buy whatever smelled so damn good. I used restraint and bought just sugar baked piece of goodness along with a few torta rolls for later. I found this place on a recent trip to San Marcos and ended up coming here about 8 times in 2 weeks. Bad for the waistline but good for the belly :) Prices were great, the guy at the counter was warm and friendly and the pastries- oh yeah!! I've been to 4 Panaderias since coming back to LA and none are close to as good. Who knew there would such a discrepancy in quality for things that are mostly lard, flour, sugar, egg, milk and water? Loaded up on pastries today. I had a coconut sprinkled strawberry tart goodness. It was still warm like it just came out of the oven. I like how you go in grab a tray and tongs and start picking through the many cabinets of pastries. Roughly .40 to .70 for each pastry. Pretty cheap. I went in at 6 pm and the local guys where grabbing their meals for the morning. All the sweet breads and selection along with price make this a 5 star Mexican bakery. Oh ya they sell tamales. One thing I wish they had is stuffed queso and jamon croissants or queso and jalapeño those make easy breakfast to go meals. I seen these at other Panderia. Oh well. This is manly all sugary sweets so it's still amazing. read more

Great place for all kinds of bread. I've seen tres leches cakes, flan, chocolate flan and arroz con leche too. Not too many Anglos have discovered it yet, so it's never too crowded. We have picking up Pan Dulce here for 10 years and it is always great. Almohadas are the best, you have to go early to get them as they always sell them out They also sell bread, bolijos like mini sandwich sized French roles that are always very fresh- you have to ask for those are the cashier Sign just says 'Bakery' read more

Had a Pan Dulce craving last night, and sort of remembered that the panederia I normally visit had closed recently, so I jumped on Yelp to find the closest one, and found "Bakery". I was a little bit hesitant given the lack of a name-name, but I shouldn't have been. Oh, "Bakery", with your plain and simple name, your teeny tiny parking lot and shop crowded with people carrying babies and wielding tongs and trays... YOU have delicious Pan Dulce. You have moist and flavorful sweet breads, where your competition has but dry and crumblies. We used to drive to Vista on special occasions, but I now know that that is no longer necessary. The only thing that is bothering me about this place is that I didn't know about it before, and I have wasted a lot of time on lesser panederias that don't dare call themselves "Bakery". GO. There is a great variety of sweet bread choices here, although they do vary from day to day. I like coming here because its the closest the sweet bread gets compared to back home, right by the Mexican boarder. Most of their bread is $.50 cents with the exception to other specialty ones with fill-ins. Their champurado here is great as well if you go early enough to buy some, its only $1 for a good sized foam cup. Try it out and you'll find yourself going more often. read more

They usually have a great selection of different pastries but depending on your timing they might not have your favorite. Killer prices on everything and the cinnamon rolls are bomb! Only reason I give them 4 stars is because the parking situation is a mess, not really their fault but definitely affects how easy it is to get in and out. read more

This bakery is AMAZING. It is authentic as they come. The pastries are cheap but the quality is perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone. Only down side is the parking lot has about 8 parking spots to share with 3 businesses. And me having a big car, its hard to squeeze into these spaces. read more

Wonderful selection; everything fresh.. and the prices are Great! ... 2 things to Know: 1. when you pass under the 78 freeway heading East on San Marcos Blvd. be ready to turn into the first parking lot.. it comes up quick and its a small Driveway.. 2... if you want to order a tres leches cake be sure to order it 2 days in advance or you will only be able to get a single serving size piece from the refrigerator. I have tried a lot of their breads here because of a friend's highly praised recommendation. We got some good amount of selection of breads because they're not pricey which is a great thing. They're okay, if you want to fill yourself up with carbs, this is the right place, but it's not something that I will keep coming back for if I want really good, tasty breads. read more

I would say the BEST Panaderia in San Diego County. I've tried other bakeries and no one can beat this one, their prices, great customer service, overall the bread.....I come here weekly to stock up for the week, and bring some to my neighbor as well.
