I stopped in to have a balanced coffee and it did not disappoint. I decided to try their Golden Bear turmeric chia iced and it was delightful. The cute shop nestled between shops was a pleasant surprise I don't think I would have ever noticed it if it weren't for the Sacramento coffee crawl. It is definitely a cutie little hidden gem. The barista was fast and greater with a smile. this was a nice visit with great chia. I highly recommend you stop by and give them a try.

this is the best chai i've had in probably the last at least five years. I love the flavor. I have gotten their lavender chai with oat milk twice in the last three weeks, and I rarely go back to the same places. The staff is so friendly. Great atmosphere to do work in. They sell artwork by various local artists which is a fun touch.

Came in to celebrate Balance's day me year anniversary! Immediately greeted by owner, Nancy who is so kinda and warm! I brought my dog in and got some cute pictures of him which made their way to balance's IG story. For a drink I got the iced oat milk MatChai (combo of chai and matcha - my two faves) and it was absolutely delicious! Especially with the coconut whipped cream on top! I also got the Matcha cocoa cookie, which was delicious and the paired perfectly together. I love the space and all the plants and decor and everything here is just absolutely lovely and if you haven't been, I would highly recommend it. There so many amazing drinks, good treats, and overall a fun and chill space.

Balance Coffee is small coffee shop in Midtown Sac. I've been here once previously and had the Barn, and I tried the Vanilla Chai most recently. I love that they are a vegan business and provide oat milk for all their drinks, as this is my milk alternative of choice. It was sweet, but not overly so, and I easily drank it down. Although the couple of drinks I've tried haven't made too much of an impression on me, it's still a great option for a coffee stop if you're in the area. As a plus, there's a good amount of parking in front of the businesses on this street. Also, I saw on their website that the owner gives back a portion of the profits. Who wouldn't want to support a local, woman-owned business like Balance?!

I was first introduced to Balance Coffee through their mobile coffee truck, the addition of this brick and mortar location is great and makes it easy for customers to find them all week long. The space is open and bright with some seating inside. The team here is always friendly and every time I've been in has greeted me right away. Everything here is vegan, and even if you're not vegan you'll want to try it all. The drinks are so flavorful and high quality. I love their coffees and chai. They also carry some baked goods from local businesses like Brown Rice Bakery and they pair perfectly with the drinks. They also sell coffee, soaps, and some other fun gift items. I always like to see what they have while I wait for my drink to be ready. I would definitely recommend trying this spot out.

Tried Golden Bear today. House made chai, oat milk, turmeric. I love the spice blend. The barista was friendly and engaged with customers. Great place to get work done.

I recently visited Balance Coffee Shop after discovering them on the Explore Midtown Pass! Balance Coffee Shop's brick and mortar is relatively new (open for less than a year); however, they also do pop-ups at the Midtown farmers' market on weekends! The shop itself is super cute and the macramé wall art gave the space a very bohemian vibe. When I walked in, the barista was friendly and double checked to confirm our orders before making them. I appreciated her attention to detail, so that my partner and I would have our orders made just right. I ordered the Matchapan, which I was told was a "secret menu item." If you know, you know! We decided to give Balance Coffee Shop a try since we love that they're committed to crafting drinks with less sugar, and you can definitely taste the difference! The matcha had a very unique flavor profile, especially with the mazapan notes. It felt like an acquired taste at first, but definitely one I can get behind guilt free!

This coffee shop is located at the Midtown farmers market. I arrived around 12 pm and the line was not too long. Each coffee is around $7 which isn't too bad. Unfortunately, I was a bit upset because when I received my drink it wasn't filled up all the way. The picture I have included is after I took a tiny sip out of my drink, i had to make sure the drink at least tasted good after paying $7 for an under filled coffee. Anyways, the employees are kind and the drinks are worth it.

Grabbed coffee here before I drove back to LA. It was cute and their coffee was amazing. I got The One and it was delicious. Definitely recommend if you find yourself needing some caffeine in midtown Sacramento.

In the bustling part of midtown, there is a quaint lil coffee shop, amongst many in the area as I may say, that stands out from the rest. Balance Coffee shop brings a very cozy/artistic vibe to your morning coffee routine. My first step in the door I was greeted by an employee and offered us many recommendations. I chose the award winning Karma drink and I can see why they won awards for this. The coffee seems sourced from high quality and the flavors of drinks are very innovative. I'll come back weekly for this place.

I pass by this coffee shop often and have always wanted to give it a try. While waiting for my haircut, I decided to pop in and check it out. There were two staff workers working the counter--both very sweet. As I was looking at the menu, one of the workers asked if it was my first time here and took the time to run through the menu with me (i.e. popular items, customizations, etc.) which I appreciated as she took the time to make suggestions based off of what I would typically get at other coffee spots. The inside of the shop has a nice, clean aesthetic that is welcoming. There are some seats alongside the wall but not many. For my drink of choice, I went with the Cali Matcha and added pistachio syrup. The drink automatically comes with oat milk but of course you can alter it as desired. I wanted to like this place so bad but unfortunately did not. The drink tasted like watered down pistachio syrup. No taste of matcha, no cream taste/feel from the oat milk, and there were matcha clumps in my drink ( ・・ ) I may come back to try some of the other drinks as I see others have given some nice reviews on them, but I'm not eager to make another visit any time soon.

I've visited Balance a couple times already and love the space. Balance Me Out was and still is a mobile coffee truck and you can still catch the truck at various markets and around the Sacramento/EG area. Taking the space of former Drip Espresso, the interior is small but quaint and chill. I love coming on Sunday mornings and things are very chill and slow. There are in house pastries and drinks are the perfect amount of sweetness (not overly sweet) and non dairy. There are certain drinks you can order as dairy so there is something for everyone. Today my order was the Mazapán Latte which is an oat milk base. Finally, a mazapán latte that's non dairy! It comes iced only. Also got the strawberry banana nut bread. Order came out quick and I was able to sit & relax a bit. The barista helping me was informative and she was able to answer my questions about the latte being non dairy. She was afraid I was going to change my mind but as soon as I heard oat milk base, I was 100% all in. Had a feeling it was non dairy but wanted to make sure. The owner of Balance typically makes her drinks non dairy and she's known for making them less sweet. Extensive menu with the usual drink selections you can find from the mobile truck plus coffee staples and beans to purchase. Always love coming here and love that Balance Me Out now has a brick & mortar! Parking is easy since there are spaces to pull into and there's street parking too. So, come in & stay awhile!

Came here for a Yelp event. Checked in at the front register since it's just them crossing out your name on a paper and giving you some Yelp goodies. Coffee was not good, staff was nice. My friend and I ordered their iced Camila coffee - not good. Tasted flat and not much like coffee. My other friend ordered the berry lemonade and said that was good. Staff were really nice and it wasn't too busy. But I really didn't care much for their coffee.

So nice to find a vegan restaurant not too far from home…read more I loved the easy menu style. Basically: do you want a small plate or a big plate? Soup? Dessert? Simple. Best part is all the food is delicious. We started with 2 bowls of mung bean w/ mixed vegetable soup. It was a true creamy soup, so I put my spoon down and drank it out of the bowl. Sorry manners? Then ordered 2 large plates of short grain brown rice, kidney beans w/ onion & garlic, baked yam, kabocha & butternut squash w/ garlic, collard greens and kale w/ shiitake mushroom sauce, and a mixed salad w/ basil lemon & agave dressing. Everything was very good. My favorites were the kidney beans, the yam combo, and the greens with the basil lemon dressing. We also got a Bahn Mi. Loved that it was really full. I don't like a skimpy Bahn Mi. For dessert, we took home slices of Coconut Pie, Chocolate Pie, Key Lime Pie, and the Himalaya Pie (layered with key lime, strawberries, coconut, and drizzled chocolate). My favorite was the Key Lime Pie -- tart and creamy. Then the Chocolate Pie, which was soft and indulgent. The Himalaya Pie was fun because every bite tasted a little different. The only one I didn't care for was the Coconut Pie because the texture was a bit hard from the coconut fat. One of the best things about this place is that they change things up based on what's seasonal. We travel with our dogs and called ahead to ask about outdoor seating. They don't officially have patio seating, but they kindly pulled a table outside for the two of us. They accommodate well-behaved dogs, and there was a great overhang for shade. We felt very comfortable sitting out there, so don't be shy about asking if you're traveling with your pooches. I briefly saw the inside and it was neat and well organized. I also saw someone bring their own container, which I loved. Definitely a spot we'll return to.

I noticed the waitress constantly rearranging the table settings depending on the party size. Restroom: One tiny unisex restroom. Recommended: Savory crepe (chickpea, coconut turmeric), Breakfast burrito, Crispy Potato Taquitos, and Blue Butterfly Lemonade. Those of you that know me already know that I am a big time meat eater. But I am always open to soy protein and impossible meat options. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity to try out "RAW Superfood Cafe". Located in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center, this place has been opened since early-2024 while replacing the once popular "CREAM" which was a surprise since they did not last long in this busy outdoor strip mall. Prior to coming here, I've already heard of RAW Superfood Cafe as they have 3 locations in the Bay Area; San Jose, Milpitas, and San Jose; and 2 locations in the Sacramento area; Elk Grove and this one that I am reviewing. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Friday 6/5/2026 at around 5:15pm. The inside area is very bright, cheerful, and lively with a few tables with leather booth-seating, bamboo wood paneling, and fake grass with the business name aligned to it. Additionally, there is a large digital kiosk where you can place your order and pay using a card or smartphone. The specialty here are their blended and layered bowls which offer a huge assortment of customizable creations. This is where you can choose a base (for example, açaí, mango, dragonfruit, etc.) while picking various toppings (nuts, fruits, coconut chips, etc.) and finishing it off with a drizzle of vanilla, chocolate, or anything you might be craving. However, they also offer a vast amount of smoothies, protein shakes, wellness drinks, blended and iced coffee beverages, and even a respectable amount of food. When I say food, this just isn't a couple items; this is more a few dozen food items to choose from. Everything from various sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toasts, bagels, salads, and soups. Since I was craving an actual meal/drink, I went with their "Bánh Mì Sandwich" (priced at $13.95). This sandwich consisted of house Asian sauce, caramelized onions, pickled daikon, carrots, cilantro, mayo, jalapeño, and cucumber. I paired this a refreshingly cold-pressed Calamansi juice (priced at $5.50). I ordered this exclusively on the kiosk and paid for it digitally via-Apple Pay. Within 5-7 minutes, my drink and food was ready for pickup. I am quite picky about my Bánh Mì Sandwiches but for them to substitute this with vegan meat was an absolute win-win for me. The 'meat' was well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor while the bread was soft and made to perfection. Even my drink hit the spot on a seasonably warm 94°F day. I thoroughly enjoyed this while dining inside a very clean, sterile, and bright interior while the employees were absolutely friendly and accommodating. With that said and done, I am giving the Arden "RAW Superfood Cafe" a perfect and unanimous five-star rating.

My boyfriend is a vegetarian and was so happy to find this gem of a Vietnamese vegetarian…read morerestaurant. I'm a meat lover who can enjoy the health benefits of eating more vegetables. The food was pretty good. I really enjoy how fresh their spring rolls appetizers are. I recommend the one with shredded taro, sweet potato, and tofu! The Bun Bo Hue style dish was like a 4/5 just because the soup was very toned down compared to Bun Bo Hue broths that I'm used to (which are prepared with meat, but are also just much more spicy and flavorful with a strong lemongrass kick). This broth flavor was very muted flavor-wise. It's probably healthier than the meat-version since it's very light and not fatty and heavy like the broth I am used to, so that's a plus. I really like the selection of tofu and soy proteins (a ham and beef vegetarian alternative) included. The soup also has delicious mushrooms. However, what brings my rating down is the ambience. The first time I came here to dine-in back in winter was fine. But for whatever reason, I had such a strange experience this second time around and had to share it so that hopefully no one else has to experience this. The music is the same song on endless loop, which can feel a bit odd. But what was odder was the fact that the restaurant seemed to be a one woman show. The server was taking care of my table (my boyfriend and I were the ONLY people dining in the restaurant), fulfilling the online orders and checking those people out upon arrival, and dealing with the unhoused individuals who were constantly coming by the restaurant for free water... in addition to watching her dog? The service was basically non-existent because the dog kept running out of the restaurant and the server was constantly running after it. I usually base good service on how frequently our water cups are refilled. During the whole hour we were there, both my partner and I had finished our water cups (I finished my water within the first 20 minutes of arrival) and not once were they refilled. It was impossible to even ask for a refill. It took us a solid 10 minutes after finishing our food to get a to-go container and a check. It was hard for the server to be attentive when so much was going on, but it was just not good service-wise. It was honestly such a strange experience, and I will not be coming back to dine-in.
