First time here and it was FABULOUS! From the moment we stepped in, we knew this would be a great dining experience. The vibe was classy and elegant; the atmosphere filled with upscale furniture and decor - everything was so neatly placed. Our server was friendly and gave us great recommendations. We had a few cocktails and it was wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing! We had the Bread is Life for appetizers and it was so amazing! The bread was served fresh and hot and the variety of cheese spread was delicious. My husband had the Estate Burger and I had the special, the lobster gnocchi...both were delicious!! We topped off our dinner with the flan dessert and it was devine! I highly recommend this restaurant - such a wonderful dining experience for our date night!
Baldamar is a beautiful restaurant! I've had take-out a couple of times (the burger is worth it!) and finally dined in recently. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which are flavorful and crispy. For entrees, we tried the short rib (melts in your mouth) and had to get the burger (decadent + delicious). Our server was very attentive and multiple friendly people working there made it a positive experience overall!
We stopped here for the first time in AGES. It was a Friday afternoon around 3pm and I didn't think we would need a reservation, but we did if we wanted to eat inside. It was a beautiful day out, so we sat outside. Our server was great! We started with the birria tacos and French dip sliders. Both were decent. The real star of the show was the Brussels sprouts and the loaded baked potato! We also ordered a steakhouse burger to share, but were so full by that point that most of it went home. Desserts looked great (a FIFTEEN layer chocolate cake!), but we decided we'll try that next time. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back.
I was in town and went to Baldamar with friends. We decided to share a bottle of red wine. The ambiance of this restaurant is superb. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is very appealing. The service was excellent. Our server was top notch and the food was delicious. We had scallops that were so tasty and a salad with steak. We shared several dishes which was perfect. I've been here before and will definitely come again.
Everything is great. I'm a big eater so it didn't help that some of the portions are small. Still love the lob mac and cheese. It's just very expensive but good. I would come as a date, but to eat more i would rather go somewhere else. It is super busy and pack. Definitely have to reserve. The service was good.
Lobster Ravioli. That is all you need to know. Lobster Ravioli. The ravioli are stuffed with lobster in a perfectly fine sauce. But then they sprinkle on the magic seasonings and it is elevated to ethereal status. The salty finish elevates it. The prime rib was unfortunately cold. And the au jus sauce. If you are going to serve cold meat then the au jus should be hot. I did appreciate that rare was an option. A nice selection of entree choices. The steak au poivre with it's accompanying potatoes was excellent. As was the shrimp chimichurri. The desserts were slightly above average, although the macarons were great. Too basic for the price point. The Pineapple Express is a great mocktail choice. We came here for Mother's Day and they need a great job of keeping the chafing dishes full of hot food. We would come here again easily.
Went there for a date night, they had a great cockktail menu and unique items on the menu! The food was delicious.we ordered the calarami, the lobster pasta and the pomegranate sauce chicken. The quantity of the food was good for a fine dine restaurant. Definitely a good choice for a celebration, date nights or get togethers!
I said we'd be back, and we came back :) we went without a reservation which was a mistake. We ended up sitting at a high top in the bar area in the doorway and overall just felt too in the doorway. Food 4/5: we started with the pork belly. It was overall well cooked and flavored. We both got steaks and shared mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were the star of the show, I just wish the portion was larger. The Mac and cheese was just ok. We did get it without the lobster, but I overall prefer a creamy Mac and cheese and thought the spice didn't compliment the cheese included in the Mac. I got one of the wagyu steak and it was just ok. I asked for medium and it was more towards a medium well. We finished with the chocolate cake and they also brought some ice cream thing we didn't order. Both were decadent and well balanced. Service 5/5: our waiter was attentive and overall did a good job. Ambiance 3/5: overall this place has a cozy elevated vibe. The table we sat at was a bit of an anomaly to the overall aesthetic. We were so close to the doorway and anytime the door opened we were met with the ice cold air. Our table was also not even, so anytime someone was cutting their steak, the other person had to hold onto the table so things didn't fall over/spill.
I actually love this place & will continue to go. The food is great, servers are fun & friendly & the menu is fantastic. This time i ordered the Trendsetter cocktail, Sooooo Goood. I highly recommend it. My friend & I decided to try the short rib nachos & unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. For $26 nachos there was hardly any meat.... like barely any. What's worse, is as we seen them bright to other tables around us they all looked so much better. I don't know what happened but i felt that we got totally screwed over.
This was actually my third time coming here but first time for lunch. We came to celebrate my partner's birthday. He had the new york strip steak which was hands down the best steak I have ever tried in the state. Cooked to perfection. I had the oysters which were also delicious. For starters, I highly recommend the "Bread is Life " with three dipping options. So freaking good we ordered two. As a native Californian, I'm a wine person and REALLY appreciate a food wine list - which this place absolutely has. Overall, this was my third time here but obviously won't be my last.
Baldamar lived up to the hype for me! My wife and I came in for the Champagner brunch and it did not disappoint. We tried way too many dishes to list. But I loved the scallop, the steak and eggs, and the king crab Benedict. And let's not forget get about the drinks. So much more than champagne which is flowing liberally. There are several tasty cocktails. Between us I think we tried them all :) The 14 Karat Queen may have been the highlight. But my favorite drink was actually the Pinot Noir. It was super tasty especially for being featured in an all you can drink menu. It's certainly not your typical house wine. Oh and pro tip. Save the French toast for last call. It's massive and you can bring it home when you don't finish it. We brought this and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. If I'm not picky the only downfall is that this menu is served in a room off the main dining area. The main dining area being a wide up and super cool looking space. So the side room just can't compete. I'm guessing though this is what helps keep the service super perfect for this all you can eat menu. So I think the trade off is worth it. Yes this is a pricey meal but it's worth it for a splurge.
The service was attentive. Went for lunch on a Friday. Got the street corn and the server offered it with chips as a dip, it was much more cheesy than I anticipated it to be. My friend got the BLT and a salad and I got a baked potato which I realize is silly but that's what I was in the mood for and they are usually incredible at a steak restaurant. The potato was twice baked which wasn't noted on the menu, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that. They gave us a complimentary dessert since it was our first time in. Large menu with lots of options and I'm sure it's great for dinner but we were just there for lunch!
Service was great! Served was so attentive without being overbearing. She also fixed an issue I had with my drink right away. Roasted artichoke was done great. Calamari was good, but a little too sweet and not enough peppers in our bowl. Steaks were cooked perfect. Loaded baked potato was to die for with the crispiest skin. Oysters are always a good idea

Bread is Life was my favorite! I also ordered the miso sea bass which was very salty but the salad complimented it well, although I wouldn't order this again I would love to try their other foods. read more
Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with a gorgeous lounge atmosphere. The mood lighting added to an intimate feel to the dining room. We went for restaurant week and were pleased with the options. The starter salad was deliciously citrusy. The Brussels sprout starter was nice but was fairly oily. The fillet was cooked to perfection with a slight crust and sufficient seasoning. The mashed potatoes were creamy and enough for a couple of people to share. Our server was enthusiastic about the menu and was super attentive. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant for an elevated date night or occasion. Service was phenomenal! I would ask for a booth because the tables were in the middle of the loud restaurant and pretty close together. The Caesar salad is one of the better salads I've had -- great acidity balance and the crispy bits were so good. The prime filet mignon was cooked to perfection and salted well. I was disappointed in the chimichurri as it was mostly oil. Scallops were standard. The chocolate cake was rich, moist, and delicious. There was a pistachio dessert we got during restaurant week and it straight up tasted like cold bland crisco. read more
Okay, so a year later, friends took me back to Baldamar. I was NOT impressed on my last visit. Appetizer: Bread is Life ($12.95). No difference from last review. This bread and the three spreads are INCREDIBLE! Just order it! Entree: California Sturgeon caviar, Au Poivre sauce, parmesan frico, shaved asparagus, mixed greens ($48). This dish was on their February Features menu and recommended by our Server, Jesse. Served on a small cedar plank, the Sturgeon was moist, flavorful, and a good portion (unlike the Lamb Chops I had last time). Caviar is a nice touch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Drink: N.Y.F.O.F. ($28). A Smokey Old Fashioned with cherry, vanilla, and hints of marigold. Amazing and a great presentation. Service: Jesse is funny, informative, attentive, and provides good recommendations. Well done Jesse! Overall: I gave Baldamar 3 stars last time. This time, I do not hesitate to give them 5 stars! I really enjoyed it! read more
Dinner at Baldamar was sensational! The service, the quality of food, the drinks; it was truly a delicious experience - well, minus the heat. We had the misfortune of visiting on a hot summer day. Like, in the 90s, it was hot. The reservations were full and we were unable to be accommodated to sit indoors. Typically, that wouldn't be a problem as I love al fresco dining; however, the lack of preparation to accommodate outdoor seating is where Baldamar felt short. There were no outdoor fans, and the umbrellas covering the tables were so flimsy that one fell on a guest while they were dining with their family. The tables were compacted very close together, which made air circulation in that patio area practically impossible. Of course, once the drinks started flowing, those types of inconveniences became less noticeable, but nonetheless, if any restaurant is going to offer patio seating in the summer, at the very least, accommodations for such an environment should be considered. So what went well? Literally, everything else! The service was exceptional. Our server felt so bad about the weather and the restaurant's lack of preparation that she never took her foot off the gas with our table, bringing water, refilling our drinks, and bringing the kids' meal out first; the service made up for the shortcomings! The food was exceptionally delicious! The Hanger steak we ordered was incredibly tender, and all the sides we paired with it --Lobster Mac and Cheese, Brussels sprouts, and Elote corn -- were 1000/10! You could taste the freshness in all of the ingredients used to prepare each dish. No two dishes tasted the same, the flavors were bold and intentionally present. Despite the restaurant's busy atmosphere, it did not compromise the quality or taste of the food. One of my favorite dishes was the Lobster Mac and Cheese, which contained chunks of lobster claw meat, coated in their house-made cheese sauce that melted in your mouth. Soooo good! Our entire table rolled out of their chairs straight into a food comma after this delectable meal. Reservations are encouraged, especially on weekends. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to visit Baldamar if I'm in the Roseville area, or recommend them to anyone I can. read more

Champagner brunch is everything. Went for a girls brunch and had the best time. The staff was so attentive and welcoming. Every single item from the food to the drinks was outstanding. Stopped here yesterday for Happy Hour, The building is gorgeous, walnut everywhere and low lights, The food is even better than the decor. Had the happy hour taco and a burger and a delicious beer. Will for sure come back for more. Service was great too. read more

Excellent dinner experience at Baldamar! The food was fantastic especially the artichoke appetizer and bourbon brown butter cake. The steak was perfectly medium rare and well seasoned. The service was excellent. It's a bit pricey but the food quality and service were worth it! read more

5 stars for the SUNDAY BRUNCH. Not pictured but so good and definitely worth the money. Unlimited with three different stations and just a variety of any breakfast style you can think of. I've been a couple times and personally love the lamb and the mocha mudpie dessert. I wasn't too impressed the very first time I went because of the price and the amount of food you get however I came back for Sunday brunch and was extremely impressed!! Service was always good as well and ambience is great. The room has a modern feel decoration to it! read more

The service and atmosphere was so wonderful. We went to the Sunday brunch for my daughter's birthday and they even left a card on the table. The food was very good too? I treated myself to the espresso martini and it didn't disappoint. I think the best bang for your buck is the brunch buffet. Something there for everyone. read more
Come here for happy hour Baldamar. I usually love their happy hour but this time, I felt like it wasn't as good. Maybe, because I wasn't that hungry, but I ordered the short rib birria tacos and a single patty burger with bacon. I think I had high expectations for the birra taco so, it wasn't as good as I thought. There was not much flavor. The burger was good. I feel like you can never go wrong with a burger. There is plenty of parking and is right across the mall so, I stopped and did some shopping. The waiter was nice but the service was a bit slow. Overall, everything was good but don't think I would be back for a while. read more

I will forever love coming to this place. I love that whenever we come it's usually always a special occasion. We were celebrating my son's birthday and other family celebrations that it just made sense to come here. We were able to lock in a reservation for 6 people and our server Ariel was so so nice. She was very helpful telling us about the specials and we had a great time. My husband went for the pork chop special which was delicious and it's the drunken apples. I had a filet with blue cheese and crispy onions and I would t have it any other way. I love blue cheese and the amount of crispy onions you get I was able to share with 2 people. We had the bread is life because it really is! You can't go wrong with that one and specially their honey jalapeño butter I would get a gallon of that. Because it's the fall season they had one of the butters be a cinnamon pecan pumpkin sort of flavor which was very delicious I can imagine that in a cinnamon roll. For drinks I tried the red Rosie, Pineapple Express and red blonde something like that. All 3 were delicious and also NA. I love coming here also because of their selection of drinks. I was so so happy to hear the harvest salad is back because wow wow wow I always crave it around this time of year and can't figure out what the squash is in the salad or how the prepare it because it's so freaking good. I am considering coming here for thanksgiving and the awesome part is that they tend to have that in the buffet section. Over all it was just as always a fantastic evening filled with delicious food that we had left over for and we got surprised with 2 desserts. I can't wait to come back here again! read more
Can we go again??!! Sometimes, you can just tell you are in for a treat and will have a great dining experience from the way the decor is set up. I know that sounds superficial, but decor and ambiance make a very important first impression. It touches all the five senses, but first comes sight. Once I saw the huge floral centerpiece in the foyer, I felt like this place knew how to wow people and my gut was right. For our appetizer, we shared the Sweet Potato Fries. This portion was definitely more than we bargained for, and there was so much left over for us to take home. For my entree, I ordered the Lamb Chops, which were just a treat--absolute deliciousness. I also tried a piece of the Miso-Marinated Seabass, which melted like butter in my mouth. After asking our waiter about what desserts he would recommend, we chose the Pistachio Creme Brulee. It was a unique and delightful combination of flavors. Since I was interested in the mud pie but was cautious about the size, our waiter did us a solid and brought out the Celebration Mud Pie, which was a perfect end to our meal. The bathroom set-up was also a plus. It was classy, clean, and sustainable, with chic, artistic elements throughout. read more

OK, yelpers, I have to admit, I've been keeping this place as a secret because I love it sooo much and enjoy the atmosphere. Baldamar on a Sunday is an amazing atmosphere and great food. Happy hour is all day on Sundays in the bar area. I went around 1 for the Vikings and ordered the lobster sliders and fries. The lobster meat is amazing and the mayo flavoring and texture are great. The fries come with three dipping sauces. I enjoyed them all. The rest of the menu is available as well. There were several other options for happy hour. The service was standout 10/10. Our server was so tentative and kept us laughing throughout the afternoon. Enjoy read more

Fantastic! From the service to the food, Baldamar deserves all 5 stars! It was definitely a fancier vibe with dim lighting and candles on each table. The prices were also a bit high, but definitely worth it for the experience and the high quality taste! We ordered the Brussel sprouts, bread with strawberry and jalapeño butter options and the baby back ribs. They were all so delicious, I would definitely recommend all 3! Also, we ordered a few specialty cocktails and they were very well done. I would definitely add Baldamar to your list of must try restaurants! read more

I've gotten Baldamar before around COVID and can't really remember what I ordered. I finally got a chance to eat inside and it doesn't disappoint. I sat at the bar area because the dining area was booked. It has a nice steakhouse vibes inside. I ordered the bread and the rib eye. The bread was hot and fresh and the spreads were very good. My rib eye was seasoned well but just a little bit overcooked. I ordered medium and it was more medium well. The man next to me had the same problem, so if you're looking for medium you should probably get medium rare. The service was decent but the bar was pretty busy so it took a little long before I was greeted. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back. read more

Baldamar is sooo good!!! I came here for restaurant week and left so satisfied. The patio in the summer is nice but a little tight. The food was phenomenal! I had the steak and summer salad and was extremely impressed with the flavors in both dishes. The Mac and cheese is amazing. I asked for it without lobster. I will definitely be returning! read more
Baldamar is a snazzy upscale steakhouse emphasizing prime meats and high-level service. Last night was my first visit, based on a recommendation from a local foodie. When I arrived for my 7pm reservation, the noise level in the restaurant was equal to a Metallica concert. The decor and clientele were all sophisticated. But it was noisy. So my dining partner arrives and we wait at least 20 more minutes. When we got seated, Andrew introduced himself as our server. He then went on to explain why everything was so backed up. Apparently a group had reserved a table for 12 for some celebration and over 40 people showed up. Why the restaurant would accommodate this change impacted all the diners with reservations. So to make things right, the restaurant would let us order any two starters from the menu at no cost. The Bread is Life and Short Rib & Chorizo Nachos were our free picks. The hot loaf is accompanied by three spreads, including a yummy strawberry basil butter. The nachos were the surprise hit and a massive portion. It was literally a meal! We ordered a third starter, the Whiskey River Scallops. They were excellent, but only three for $25? Because we were getting full from the starters, we knew we had to order a steak. The 18 ounce Prime Rib Eye was calling our names. We split it. Perfectly prepared. For sides, the Twice Baked Loaded Potato and the Fire Roasted Artichokes were excellent. Andrew brought out some Sebastian Joe's ice cream, on the house, to end our meal on a high note. We left Andrew a generous tip for his excellent service. read more

I decided to visit Baldamar after hearing about it from friends and family. It was restaurant week when I went for lunch alone at 11:30am on a Friday. Food: I chose their restaurant week menu - a 3-course meal for $25. I started my meal with the Watermelon Salad. It was light and refreshing. The vinaigrette was lightly sweet and spicy. Everything worked well together. My second meal was Aglio e Olio, a simple pasta dish with shrimp. Despite the name "garlic and oil," it was a perfect amount of garlic and oil. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Finally I had the ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was a homemade profiterole that was cut in half with vanilla Sebastian Joe's ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce. It was delicious, slightly messy upon eating, and the ice cream was thick and creamy. Overall, delicious. I definitely will have to come back with friends and family for an actual steak meal! Service: I did make a reservation online. I was greeted by the hostess, a server who poured me water, and my server. There were staff to take my plate away right as I'm pushing it away. My server checked in every shortly after every plate served. The transition between the 3-course meal was quick that I didn't even have time to play a game on my iPhone to pass the time! LOL. Attire: Despite the prices, I saw people in jeans. I saw an elderly man in cargo shorts and a polo shirt. I wore jeans with a nice sleeveless top. I saw people wearing a suit. I saw some elderly women wearing a casual blouse with capri pants. Parking: They have a parking lot outside of the restaurant or you could park in the ramp nearby. My favorite of all the things I've tried were the wings 10/10. Next up is Bread is Life with a 9.9 out of 10. Then it's the oysters / fries, sauces were amazing (8/10)!!! Burger, not so much. It was too big for me and not as flavorful as I expected. 6/10 Service was great. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very kind and helpful. Ambiance is date night, Sunday brunch vibes. read more
