Flute Desserts

Mancini's Char House is a true classic steakhouse experience. The steaks are cooked to perfection, exactly what you'd expect from a no-frills, old-school menu done right. We started with a delicious antipasto salad loaded with provolone and salami. Every meal kicks off with the traditional supper club touches--relish tray and garlic bread--which sets the tone right away. Drinks lean into the classics, just as they should. Ben was an excellent, attentive server, and the owner/manager making rounds to check on every table is pure class. We wrapped it up with a flute of tiramisu and a limoncello dessert--an ideal finish to a timeless dining experience.

This is a mix of medium Filet, and medium well Filetabs some green beans

The food as always is amazing, the steak was so good and the salad was a nice complement, the green beans were very pleasant even for me who doesn't really like green beans. Also the bread, they have amazing crunchy charred bread that really makes for a good thing to chew on before the good as well. The service as usual was great, got our order right was friendly and checking in regularly. The place itself has a very nice ambiance as a old school steak house vibe, it's very cool from where you sit to the bar area with those red leather couches and very cool set up, over all per usual over 15 years coming there it's been consistently one of the greats.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Old School and Masculine. We celebrated a friend's 50th Birthday here and the vibes were perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]White linen tablecloths and crystal chandeliers are a nice touch for a special occasion, and I noticed at least 3 banquet rooms for large groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our event was in the Gold Room and had a beautiful fireplace and golden textured wallpaper.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was tasty, but not foodie level deliciousness. I continue to love Mancinis. All the great things remain great and they have made some moves to improve things. This includes a couple of salads (the Blue Cheese Steak Salad is really good.). The Steak Sandwich from the bar is now on the dining room menus, and it's a huge winner. Go here for a classic Italian Steakhouse feel at much more approachable prices than the Manny's of the world.

Came here on a Saturday night and pretended we are a decade or 2 older than we really are when we sat down at the bar for dinner around 5 PM. They have their own parking lot, which makes it so much easier when I'm in a neighborhood I don't know too well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You feel like you're thrown back in time in a restaurant that could be the setting for a great old movie and the place begs to be filled with live jazz and crowds of happy people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The petite filet at $35 seems like a fair price for the quality steak and all of the extras/sides like pickles and vegetables, a green salad (just lettuce and one cherry tomato?!), a big basket of garlic toast, and a baked potato loaded with cheddar cheese (we added a side of mushrooms extra). I had a glass of the Chianti and it was really good. But by far the best part of the meal was the freshly blended grasshopper drink - a perfect ending to the evening in this throwback spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You gotta try this place for the ambiance and the people watching and the good service and the solid food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Mancini's is a classic. There is so much history and memories- just take a look at their walls of pictures since 1948. Great for groups, date, party room for events and meetings, for drinks and live music. Plenty of space to go around! The bread basket and relish tray are a perfect savory snack. Food: Tuscan Medley - couscous and vegetables were good. I would have liked to have another source of protein- beans, bean burger, etc. Everyone else ordered a steak or the blackened beef tip and blue cheese salad. Everyone was happy. They have karaoke and live music! Service is always good! Free parking lot

Service was great. Place is packed, very casual. Not exactly what we were expecting for a date night. Very old school 'mafia' vibes which was kind of fun. The food was ok but nothing spectacular. Not a lot of options. Steak was cooked nicely. Chimichurri had no flavor. It was a fun place to try but likely won't go back.

Mancini's is great at what it does best. Delicious meats and the supper club vibe. We went in on Mother's Day and enjoyed drinks and a plate of pickled vegetables. The rest of the party enjoyed the bread (which looked delicious, but I'm GF). Most of our party ordered the filet mignon which is well-priced while others ordered the lobster tail. I fully expect to be back.

We are new to St. Paul and this place will be tough to beat!…read more We shared the hand pie to start. The pastry had perfect crisp flaky texture and the savory and salty mix of the cheese and demi glaze were delectable. Next we had mussels which were also amazing. The white wine broth was seasoned beautifully and soaking it up with the accompanying crusty bread was divine. For our main we shared the gnocchi with mushrooms and asparagus. The sauce was the perfect mix of creamy, lemony, and salty. The textures and tastes were simply perfect. We didn't save room for dessert but got the piña colada sorbet anyway. The sorbet was delicious but the toasted coconut is what made the dish our fourth 10/10. The service was kind, quick, and courteous. The ambience was close and talkative but cute. There were also some nice seats on the patio which were quieter and also very cute. We will be back. Often.

The space itself is beautiful with a really cozy ambiance, and the patio is a great option when the weather is nice. The drinks are absolutely the star of the show. You can tell there is so much intention behind both the flavors and the presentation. The cocktail menu is super creative, and the Old Fashioned menu alone is phenomenal with so many unique options. The Beorn Old Fashioned was my favorite. We also tried the Payanello (pineapple, lime, ginger, pickled jalapeño) and it was incredible. Food was fantastic as well. The brussels sprouts were so good and a must order. Service was amazing. Our server was so kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. It is on the pricier side, especially for drinks, but honestly worth it for the quality and experience. Reservations are easy to make and I would definitely recommend booking ahead. Parking was manageable when we went, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. Overall, such a beautiful, thoughtfully done space with incredible drinks, great food, and top tier service. A perfect spot for a night out or just grabbing a cocktail and soaking in the vibe.

Since I don't drink alcohol, I opted for one of their zero-proof cocktails, the St. Agrestis Phony Negroni. It had a subtle hint of pineapple, but the drink itself was a bit too strong for my taste. We also tried their new Irish Spice Bag, but unfortunately it wasn't a favorite. The dish was a little bland, and the curry sauce could have used more seasoning. Overall, this place just wasn't the right fit for my personal tastes, but I can definitely see it appealing to those who appreciate sophisticated cocktails and an upscale, stylish atmosphere.

Perfect for a romantic date! Plenty of candles flickering on each table! The kitchen is open, so it was fun to watch! Our only complaint is that the tables are fairly close together and a 2 person table is so small! It kept us from ordering more food, because there would be no place for it to go! Our server was nice. She originally forgot our drinks but admitted it and got them right away. We appreciated the honesty. Our water glasses were always full, we were given wet naps after our delicious wings and plates were taken promptly! Food: We each started with a drink. I got the banana bread old fashioned which may just be my favorite cocktail! My boyfriend got a beer and said it was "ok." We started with the truffle fries and smoked wings in the flavor rum chili. Holy moly! Both of those were spectacular!!! The ranch was just ok, I would probably get the blue cheese next time. Truly though, you don't need to dip these wings, the flavors are amazing on their own!! For our main course, we got the 14oz New York strip steak cooked to a perfect medium and the scallops! Both were out of this world! Very well done! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! It is truly a gem in the cities!

After seeing so many 5 star reviews I was curious if it would live up to the hype... it definitely does!! Service was fantastic and very attentive. We were given a description of the various cuts of meat which helped us decide what to try. My table ordered a domestic wagyu zabuton steak and a picanha steak. For sides we ordered the Caesar salad, grilled mushrooms and the tallow fries. The Caesar salad came out first. This dish set the bar high. It has a unique blend of herbs and spices adorning a bed of crunchy romaine and fried oysters that elevated this dish. Must try if you are in the mood for a salad. The steaks and sides came out next and were shareable. Between the two steaks the wagyu was the better choice. Melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. The picanha had great flavor but was definitely tough to cut. I'll just order the wagyu next time. The steaks come with a side of sauce. We ordered the chimichurri and llagua. I liked the chimichurri the best between these sauces. The mushrooms were marinated so well and had a rich umami flavor. The tallow fries were crispy and salty. I would get either of these sides again. We finished our dinner with the "burnt" cheesecake. Which featured strawberry rhubarb compote on top. Save room for this desert! It was so good! We went on a busy Saturday night and found parking in a nearby garage. They offer valet but we didn't notice it until we had already parked. I think the valet was cheaper than the parking we found so might as well utilize that service unless you find something farther away.

This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.
