Visited 1/24/26. I went a bit back and forth between a four and a five before landing on the 5. It is truly such a cute place and I'm glad I got to visit although I think if I visit again I plan on doing the pre fixe menu over à la carte after watching a few others in the restaurant do this. Things that cemented a 5/5: -Parking: was easy and found a spot with little problem -The aesthetic was incredibly cozy and intimate -THE DESSERTS. I've rarely had a meal where I race about the desserts over the meal but this is beyond warranted. -The butter that comes with the bread (so delicious) Other things: -The cook on the duck was marvelous. I would do the cassoulet if sharing above the duck breast because you won't get huge portions -Prices are going to be more in general but plan for this or it would be really great for a special occasion.

New Year's Eve at Myriel? Yes please! Took a chance they had walk-ins available and the odds were on our favor. I'll never tire of this place. The food is so thoughtful, delicious and exquisitely prepared. Sitting at the bar never disappoints and their attention to detail is unmatched.

The food experience here is absolutely amazing. I loved every dish we had although the Cesar was a bit strong for my taste, my wife loved it and usually hates regular Cesar. We had several courses as most are small and easy to share. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it imo. The service is phenomenal and very attentive and friendly. The setting and ambiance is cute and quaint. Probably my only small knock would be the size of the place. It's pretty tight seating and you will not have a ton of privacy from other couples and families.

Walking into Myriel feels like entering a close friend's home. The small space is cozy, the smells are inviting, and the front of house team is friendly and excited to tell you all about the menu. The menu changes frequently with the season and embodies the farm to table spirit, while still maintaining a clear point of view in the rustic French-inspired dishes. Two things that are always on the menu (and worth eating over and over again) are the duck confit and apple pie. Both are comforting, delicious, and prepared in a perfect yet approachable way. The dishes tend to be on the smaller side, so you are able to try a wide variety of items in a single meal. A fun surprise this Christmas season was the chef's take-home plum pudding. I'm excited to dig in later this week!

Myriel is a tiny spot and you can tell everything is done super intentionally. They use all the parts so we had duck everything. Our fav was the swedish waffle topped with a bit of confit duck. I loved the gnocchi to - fluffy yet crisped.

Such a lovely spot! The restaurant focuses on using only local ingredients, and it really shows in the quality and flavor of the food. I loved the gnocchi and mushroom dish -- so comforting and full of depth. The vibe is cozy with a charming cottage feel, perfect for a date night. Service was excellent, and I really appreciate that the menu changes based on what's fresh and in season. Every dish feels wholesome and thoughtfully made. Definitely a new favorite!

I've been meaning to try this restaurant after owner Karyn Tomlinson won the James Beard award for Best Chef for her region. After my cousin and I finished our supper on 10/24/25, we agree they deserve the award and more! The food at Myriel is all locally sourced, and ingredients are made from scratch; all the way down to the butter. From this, you know you'll get the best flavors out of everything on the menu. My cousin and I ate á la carte. We started with the Swedish corn waffle ($8,very small) and the sourdough bread ($9) with the best handmade butter. Next was their celery soup ($12) that paired perfectly with the sourdough. I've never had such good soup before, and I would go back just to have this again. We shared a palate cleanser of a salad ($15) to prep us for the duck breast ($32) and walleye ($30) plates that followed. Because we couldn't leave without filling in the nooks and crannies of our stomachs, we ended with the apple pie and zucchini cake with the most interesting ice cream (anise and hyssop flower). Everything was beautifully plated and tasted as good as it looked! My only complaint of the night was that the apple pie was served cold. I prefer it steaming hot, so to enjoy the race to eat it before the ice cream turns it into a soggy mess. Nit-picky-- for sure. My shy ass dragged itself to peak into the kitchen, after the waiter told us we could say hi to Chef Tomlinson. She delightfully introduced the entire kitchen team, and it oddly felt inviting even in the midst of the supper rush. All in all, I think everyone should strive to have a meal here. Yes, it's expensive, but the attention to detail, the hyper-locality of the ingredients, and the friendliest staff show where that money goes to.

We absolutely loved our time at Myriel. The tasting menu focused on extremely fresh and flavorful ingredients derived from Minnesota and local farms. The vision that Chef Karyn and team have achieved is truly remarkable. While the proteins were excellent our favorite dishes were more vegetable focused. The black radish with chive oil was sublime. As a palate cleanser the celery lemongrass shave ice was crazy fun and tasty. And with a pork chop the carrots with dill vinegar and butter were delicious. While the restaurant can get a bit loud it's small enough that you can easily talk with staff about any questions and they are always willing to talk more about a dish. A huge thank you to Chef Karyn and team for a great dinner!

This was an excellent dinner at of one of the many Minneapolis James Beard semifinalists - Karyn Tomlinson is well deserving of her nominee for Best Chef: Midwest. We ordered a LOT of food as well as indulging in a few cocktails. I think my favorite item was probably the gnocchi. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the menu but I don't think anything you order will disappoint. In addition to the gnocchi, the bread was also stellar and the apple pie for dessert was great as well (coming from a non-dessert person). They had a good selection of cocktails with some unique options. The service was also excellent, our server gave good recs and always popped up when we needed something but wasn't overbearing. Her attention to detail elevated the entire experience.

Very small place that maximizes every element to make a cozy setting with Scandinavian vibes. Excellent service and interesting but small and carefully curated menu. The cocktails were new and innovative. We enjoyed a bit of everything from the menu, and especially loved the charcuterie, spaetzel, oyster mushrooms, small waffles with confit, the salad with root vegetables, and the parsnip soup. We tried all three main courses but especially liked the duck, and the lamb meatballs. The duck was exceptional- I can see why it is the one item always on the menu. Our favorite dessert was the merengue but the "pain perdu" bread pudding was also very fine.

If Owamni and Travail had a baby, it would be Myriel. Farm to table, local foraged ingredients served in 12 courses.

This place should win an award! Fine dining without the pretends. I heard that it's hard to get RSVP here. So try 5 pm when they first open or after 7 pm (tips from Lauren: amazing bartender +). We did and got 2 seats at the bar, front row! Please order cocktails, they are excellent, my favorite was "Hazel" until I tried the "Bishop" which is even better. They did NOT pre-mixed any drinks, all made there in front of you, takes sometimes but you can see the love! Although Mark (amazing bartender +) explained that some drinks are better pre-mixed that the flavor develop more (good point!) Lauren explained that this restaurant tried to get all ingredients within 100 miles. Also there's a tasting menu which is around 12 dishes with optional cocktails pairing (hmmmm....sounds like a future dinner!) FOODS! Order anything with mushrooms! They know how to work mushrooms! We had Tartine with Mushrooms, that alone is enough for a good dinner if you're not too hungry or curious. If it's the latter, then here's what we had: Early summer greens, pea pods and shoots, vili dressing $13 The veggie is fresh you can smell the earth (in good way). The dressing is creamy yet refreshing. Taste like spring Chilled shaved beef, allium mayonnaise, coriander, ramps $17 Looks like roast beef but flavor bomb! Get ready for it. Tartine - mushroom Smokey. Tangy. Creamy well balanced. It's a perfect bite every single bite. Austrian spaetzel, beurre blanc, dill $16 with poached egg $3 Homemade spaetzel, what more can you ask? Well I love egg so I have that added, note to self ask if runny egg next time so it can oozed out to the spaetzel (it was perfectly soft boiled egg) Pork belly, charred onion glaze, grilled mushroom, mizuna $28 Melt in your mouth. The mushroom is insane charcoal I would prefer some grain or rice with it, but it's just me. Little but sweet but the the smoke and the acid really balance everything out a la fin Mark recommends a liquor called "Carcavelos" that paired nicely with "sunflower seed ice cream, cocoa crisp, whey caramel $12 (Perfect combo-Thanks again Mark!) You're not done! you also get a "Kernza" cookie with your bill! Yeah I have to google "Kernza" too. The chef even come out and greet the customers what a humble place for such a nice dining experience.

This restaurant was recommended to me and it was the best place I've eaten in a long time. The service was impeccable. The food was exquisite. And the ambiance was just perfection. I am still fondly thinking of the good I ate months later. Every detail from the cutlery and dishes to the wine pairings were a complete delight. If you happen to get a reservation be prepared for a wonderful evening you won't soon forget.

It's a really cozy moody interior, with *no big lights* aka great low lighting and comfy seating options. When we went, there were just a few other parties there so pretty quiet. I liked that we had a whole corner to ourselves with a sectional couch of sorts and some chairs. They close at 10pm on a Friday night, which felt absurdly early for a cocktail bar. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but we enjoyed our time and could see this being a good option if you lived in the neighborhood and don't mind the early close hours.

Came here for a date night, I got the Broiled Miso Salmon and one glass of wine and my partner got the Steak Frites and a coke. Our bill was $95! Ouch. The bad: If it were really really good I would be willing to pay for it, but I felt that the flavors in my dish, in salmon, carrot ginger sauce, and cauliflower, were whispering at best. I think the cauliflower could have used a sauce or been crispier, it just seemed boring and soggy. The steak and fries also came out cold :( my partner really knows his steaks and was not impressed, it was over cooked for medium rare and it had clearly been sitting too long. Not worth the $38! The good: The space itself is decorated really well, it's pretty dark but the theme comes together really nicely. I personally enjoyed the indie/pop music they had playing and it wasn't too loud. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay ($16) and they had a decent selection of wine but only a handful were by the glass. You can get glasses of by the bottle wines if you commit to getting at least two glasses though which is good to know. For me, the service really saved this review, our server was so nice and friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I would maybe grab a drink and an appetizer here sometime but will definitely hold out on dinner again until their prices chill or the food gets better. ‍ TLDR: Too expensive for the food quality
