Amazing view. We get to find a table ourselves and we chose oceanview of course. Would have loved to sit either rooftop or outdoor, but forgot to bring a jacket. The gentleman kindly said he would check. He came back told us they would be out shortly. He brought them to us. They were barely lukewarm I sent them back . The surfer looking gentleman was nice enough to ask if he would like me to have them made again, but I didn't want to wait another 35 minutes so off we go to Yucatán . Really disappointing experience at Ballast Point Long Beach. We moved our table about one foot to get out of the direct sun, and the staff made a big issue out of it. They said they would not move the umbrella, but still insisted that we move the table back into the sun. We were not blocking a walkway or causing a problem--we were simply customers trying to get some shade while waiting for another shaded table to open up. Instead of handling it with basic hospitality, the staff made us feel unwelcome over something extremely minor. This place used to have a great atmosphere, but the customer service and overall vibe have clearly changed. The staff seemed young, poorly trained, and more focused on enforcing unnecessary rules than taking care of paying customers. Management really needs to work on hospitality training. read more

Great patio, unbeatable view of Alamitos Landing, and a bustling business at lunch on a Tuesday. We had just ridden the water taxi from Long Beach Harbor and were looking forward to a hearty meal. We were able to move out of the freezing wind tunnel in the shade near the building, to a partially shaded seating area with sofas. A kind server updated their food delivery chart because we had already ordered. The QR code ordering system is pretty clear, so husband ordered a water and a burger with fries. This time I tried a blackberry cider. I ordered a lettuce wrapped burger and a side salad. The cider was a strong one, so served in a goblet instead of a pint. Very refreshing, and I appreciate having a non-beer choice on draft. Burgers! Looking good! However, looks can be deceiving. This was the blandest most unseasoned and boring cheeseburger I have ever encountered. I appreciate they included the burger sauce on the side, which often isn't provided at all on a lettuce wrap. But frankly it didn't help, and I found the meat itself to be packed densely and pretty chewy. Left much of the meat behind. Husband didn't finish his either. At least the fries were good (battered and seasoned maybe?) and the side salad was fresh and large. And there was a really good pickle wedge. Love this spot! The view of the marina is awesome, especially if you grab a table outside. It's such a nice place to relax with a beer and watch the boats go by. The staff is always super friendly and on top of things, even when it's busy. Tons of beer options--Sculpin is my go-to, but I've tried a few seasonal ones and they're always good. The food is way better than typical bar food. The fish tacos and pretzel bites hit the spot every time. Perfect for hanging out with friends or bringing visitors. If you want to enjoy some food, some drinks, and nice views this is a great place to go! It is self seating so it can be hard to find a good table, but you can always hang out at the bar until a table opens up! We went n a Saturday around 3pm and it was a little packed but we were still able to find a table for 5. It is also self ordering, all you do is scan a QR code and you can order whatever you want, whenever you want. I personally like this because I am able to drink and eat on my own time without having to be waited on. I'm not a super big beer person but I do enjoy a good sour and a cider! I got the blackberry hard cider and it was so refreshing for the summer time (I wanted to try the sour but they were all out but I was not disappointed with what I got!) My friend got their mozzarella burger and he said it was absolutely amazing (check out the picture for the insane cheese pull!). I am also a big fan of their hot wings and pretzel! Okay I had the watermelon drink that's made with wine. I wasn't in the mood for a beer. Oh my gosh - it was so tasty!!! This will be my go to every time I come. It tasted like a refreshing watermelon jolly rancher but not too sweet. Also they reallyyyy have stepped up their food here. I remember when the food was pretty lacking but we got quite a few things and they were all good. I really liked the Caesar salad! It had the right crunch, right amount of cheese and the dressing was good. We also got the fish and chips and the fries were perfect. They were crispy on the outside and soft potato-y inside with the garlic and Parmesan. We saw photos on this Yelp site showing dogs on the outdoor patio & we read multiple reviews that say dogs are allowed and we even saw information online that said the Long Beach location is dog friendly but when we arrived, we learned that wasn't the case. I think they arbitrarily decide when they want to be pet friendly and when they don't want to allow pet which is messed up. Breweries are known for being pet friendly and I have never encountered ANY establishment with an outdoor patio that doesn't allow pets so this is definite hell nah for us. Tons of free parking in the lot. They have some great sours beers options as well. There's a little souvenir shop on the first floor, which is fun if you're visiting from out of town. The place is nice they have indoor seating and bar on the main level and on the second outdoor level they have seating and a bar as well. Came here for our 2025 Company Holiday party which was sectioned off on the second floor. We were served bites from like sliders, taquitos, poke, pizza, and some other little bites which all were good. Horrible experience that ballast point tried to scrub this review. So Cliff notes: Went for a beautiful lunch along the water one day with a friend. Upon walking in the host said we could sit anywhere but on this day, half of the restaurant was closed off for a party which was fine. We sat on the beautiful deck. The tables have QR codes which is fine but it does tie you to that table making it hard to change tables mid order (will get to this point in a minute). 10 minutes into sitting down, a patron walks by us and as he is next to our table he buckles over and throws up. It's like 1pm on a Wednesday mind you...this bro was being a messy ass queen and getting that drunk at 1pm on a Wednesday? Bro get yourself a wife. Anyways. By this point we had already ordered and since the QR code is attached to the table and since that's how we ordered, we had to wait for our food before being able to move tables. 10 minutes then 20 minutes go by and not a single employee has come by to clean up the vomit and it's right next to our table and in main walk way... After we got our food, we moved tables and ate. The food was just okay at best. Way too expensive for that's ballast point for you. read more

We had to find someone to give us waters and grabbed our own silverware, napkins and to-go boxes. Caesar salad: Massive portion, would recommend dressing on the side as it was quite heavy. Fish and chips: Solid Lobster roll: too heavy on the dressing Extensive beer menu and you can get 16oz, 8oz or 4 oz pour. They don't have a flight option so this is the closest you can do. Overall, typical brewery food, but because of the combination of poor service and lack of beer flights, I would check out another brewery before returning. read more

After doing some waterbiking I could not wait to have a cold beer and some grub and Ballast point was right there so how could I not? Things just got worse and worse the longer I was there and each time I asked for anything and it was frustrating. So they have a hellova lot of beer but rhe one beer I asked for they didn't have. Ok I guess ill settle for something else. Then I asked for some wings, I was told they didnt have any. In my mind I could taste wings but I settled for a burger which was actually delicious. The fries.... meh. Then there was another drink I asked for and they didn't have that so I had to choose another. Thank you to the waiting/bartender cuz she was dealing with the hand she was dealt and was really nice. So almost every brewery I go to I love it when they have merch but I hate it when they dont have my size. My company reserved the Dorado deck for our Christmas party on 12/10/25 and I was shocked at how great everything turned out. The service was outstanding, the food options were so good every item ran out in mins which forced the chefs in the kitchen to make more food quicker than expected. From beef & chicken skewers, veggie cups with delicious ranch, to flat breads with a great balsamic drizzle, cheeseburger sliders, taquitos with tasty mango salsa, and awesome giant wings, our whole staff was happy. There was an open bar and all options were delicious based on a consensus of my colleagues. It gets pretty busy in here- I mean the Ambiance out side over looking the water and all the fun trinkets you can purchase inside(gift shop)- it doesn't get better than this.Service was great: with a smile and interactive servers is key to great service!!food was pretty satisfying; I left wondering why these guys don't have an elevator yet!! Fist time visiting Ballast Point was a charm! The multi seating options are endless and the views spectacular as it sits facing the marina. Upon arrival you can choose a table of your liking scan the QR code, order from the app, pay and just await 'till all the good stuff is promptly delivered to your table. So convenient no waiting times, no delays, just straight forward and with a view. We ordered calamari and fish and chips. We loved the calamari so much but would skip on the Fish & Chips next time. Would love to come back and have lunch on the upper deck with some shade. Open seating concept, we were lucky to find a tall table for two available. I didn't care for the way you have to order, off a QR code menu. One of my first sit downs I went to arriving in Cali! My boyfriend told me a bit about it (while my other friends told me of the one in San Diego..!). We went on a weekend evening and it was packed, from the parking lot to inside, as anyone would expect. The outside views and amenities make it worth spending time there, while the ambiance inside is bustling yet casual, with all the patrons doing their own thing. Theres a host in the front who lets us know we can seat ourselves when we find a table and to scan codes and make our order. Once completed, the servers will come out with your drinks and food. Although it took a long while (as expected), the food was phenomenal. Although there were huge quantities of people, the flavor & quality of our dinners didnt seem to be affected by the slightest. If you don't like bitter beers, they do have many other options, including sours, blondes, lagers, kolsches, etc. If you're sitting at one of their bars (I think they have 4 or 5?), then you can ask for samples before you commit to one. We advised the host it was our first time so she explain how each table has a QR code (that's where everyone orders drink and food. Tip is automatically charged in the beginning without even knowing if service will be good or not. ) There is a wide beer selection of beers including wine. There is a variety of different food to choose from including vegetarian and vegan which I was so excited about. The ambience was nice. There was outdoor and indoor seating as well as patio seating upstairs. The only reason I didn't give this location a five star is because the servers seemed to be tending every other table except ours. they were bringing water to other tables and napkins and constantly checking up on them with a smile on their face. Unfortunately none of the servers came towards us to ensure everything was ok. We had to flag them down for condiments, napkins or utensils. (Might as well ask for our tip back since service was horrible). The servers didn't walk towards us until we got up to leave, which was unfortunate. I had to double check the QR code to see how service worked. Unfortunately the service was bad. And I'm big on service. At least pretend and ask how everything's going. No human Interaction. We came here while we waited for our hydrobike time slot. They have lots of seating indoors and outdoors. they also have a second floor with additional seating. It is right next to the water so you can enjoy a view. I only had time to order their fries, which were super thick, yummy, and oily!! They have a QR code on the table you sit at so you can conveniently order without having to wait for someone. After you order, someone will come and deliver your food or drink.
