Went to Ballyhoo to celebrate my brother's birthday. Was expecting just average sports bar food. Wrong!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ballyhoo not only has great quality food, it also has such a great environment with both indoor and outdoor seating, live music on the weekends, and such a large menu to choose whatever you'd like![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Lobster and it was fantastic! I will say it's some of the best lobster I've ever had...and that's saying a lot because I'm from the north. Definitely going back soon!

The server very kind and attentive. The food was good for price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the ambiance was laidback bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nice place for a good drink and a good meal. Big portion, juicy scallops

I have never been here before but came here with a local. Overall the food was good and so was the server. If I was in town, I would definitely return to this establishment. I do not know or understand why the rating is not higher.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is well known in the area. for its outside seating and ample inside seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got sat down right away. Did not get waited on for about 10 minutes? Might have been longer. Had we not run into someone, We knew who worked there. Ordered our food on some very cool ipads that they give you to look at the menu. and drinks, Our poor waitress was running all over the place. Salmon was some of the best. I've had in a while, and my wife loved her crab legs. They seem very busy that even the manager was running food out. When it came time to pay the check. We realized that our dessert was still on the bill. But due to the fact that it takes a while for the banana fosters to be made as they do them at the table. We decided to cancel our dessert. We had already been here an hour and a half already. You definitely have to have some time set aside if you wanna eat here, As it is a very busy restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's even busier during football season.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Passing through and stopped for lunch. The Nawlin's peeled shrimp was amazing! My husband enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. I had the gumbo and it was good. Our server was polite and service was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was beachy and seemed like it would be a great place to watch a game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We would stop again if we're passing through again.

Hold on to your hats, but Ballyhoo's has added a delicious Sunday brunch!! They have a wide variety of various flavors of brunch drinks along with flights and " pour your own " options. I had the waffle and eggs that came with a choice of bacon or sausage, and grits or home style potatoes. The waffle was light and airy and I found it to have just the right amount of crispy on outside and yet still moist on the inside. I love that it automatically comes with fresh blueberries and strawberries without the customary up charge. You can also have powdered sugar and whip cream as well. My husband had the chicken and waffle. Best chicken tenders ever! Lightly breaded and cooked with a juicy moist bite in every forkful. The food tasted and looked as good as it does in the electronic menu provided. You will not be disappointed. The service was excellent. Waitress was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied with our meal both before and after finishing our meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice as it always is. Inside/outside covered seating as well as full service offered in the bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Low chatter so you can enjoy your meal and hear your table guest as well with ease.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]TVs are available in all corners of the restaurant with volume never considered intrusive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We go there for lunch or dinner on a regular basis, but this additional delicious brunch, well that's a game changer now!! Definitely will make this a regular addition.

Get the sweet potato fries; they are amazing! A very friendly local restaurant that has a varied menu! The bartenders are efficient, funny, and thoughful. They have a large sushi menu, that is varied and delicious. The atmosphere is unique, with statues, decorations, and rare items attached to the walls and ceiling. They have tables, booths, outside seating, plenty of space at the bar, and plenty of TVs to watch sports The owner is here most of the time, and he brings the food out to you himself sometimes. It is a unique place, and can grow on you quickly!

Stumbled on to this place when I saw they had a raw bar split a 6 oysters (3each) and added the Nowlins Shrimp and brussel sprouts all were awesome I currently have a third degree black belt in seafood especially oysters The big surprise was the brussel sprouts I'm used to having them cooked until the entire sprout is soft however thier recipe didn't sacrifice the meat in the large bulb to soften the stem that I used as a Handel to get to the perfectly seasoned sprout Jamie was very attentive kept an eye on our drinks so we never had to ask for a refill I bet this place would really be fun to watch some games/matches needed a nice relaxing break in the day and they really delivered!

I went on a girls trip for the weekend to Orlando. As we were headed back to Georgia, we stopped in Gainesville because we wanted more Seafood lol. We decided to stop here after this place caught our eye. Even though the place is right off of the highway, it felt like we were sitting on a beach. I decided to order the oysters char-grill, the grouper sandwich, as well as a bowl of their gumbo. And out of all three, the gumbo was by far the best! The oysters were okay and I was not a big fan of the grouper sandwich. It was definitely dry! I really don't even think it was grouper to be honest. The Host and waitress was friendly and made sure our waters were refilled. There was ample parking and after we got stuffed, we got back on the road and headed home.

The food was nominal; the bar tender lacking. We are from out to town and this locations was highly recommended. We asked if they would honor the birthday gift and Justin said "no". I asked can you please ask management. I had to remind him for the response. He said they would honor it but they were out of lobster. A substitution? Forget that!!!! Furthermore, after repeating the food orders several times, EVERYTHING was amazing, Justin said, but he still took the order wrong. And nothing was amazing. The oyster were ok, the shrimp arrived late and warm. The steamed shrimp was extremely salty. When mentioned, Justin just shrugged his shoulders as if nothing could be done. So why ask, I wonder??? Justin also seemed put out. I'm sorry but I won't lie about an experience and I will write an honest review. I give 5 stars when it's warranted per MY experience. I have that history. I tipped him well regardless of the bad service since not all of it was his fault; which is when I noticed his demeanor change. GO FIGURE!

I love Ballyhoo! We visited on a slower day and I'm so glad they had the outside seating open! We used to go here all the time we went to the University. They have fantastic drinks at a great price, good food and certain nights have live music. It gives such a tropical feel! I had their grouper sandwich at market price ($14.99) with a side of she-crab soup. My god that soup is delicious!!! We also had the Firecracker shrimp as the appetizer, which was delightful and large! Normally I will get their sushi but they only serve their sushi menu at dinner. Please note: with COVID happening, the waiter said they haven't had the sushi bar open since they reopened. 5 stars because I love the atmosphere and it brings back great memories. We used to go here on our birthdays because if you sign up for their email, you get a FREE lobster on your birthday! It was fantastic. Love this place!

The wings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and hit the spot, and the fries were crispy and satisfying, simple but solid. That said, when my friends' seafood boils came out, wow. The smell alone was incredible rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. I couldn't resist trying a few bites, and I'm glad I did. The potatoes and broccoli were especially good, soaking up all that seasoning, and the seafood itself tasted fresh and well-cooked. You could tell this is really where they shine. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and it's definitely a fun, casual spot to go with friends. The atmosphere feels laid-back and social, which makes it great for group dinners. While my non-seafood order was good, seeing (and tasting) the boils made me want to come back and try a full seafood meal next time. Overall, a solid spot with great flavor, especially if you're a seafood lover. I'd absolutely return and next time, I might just give in and get my own boil.

The parking lot can get a little hectic, especially during busy hours, but once I got inside everything moved quickly. The service was fast and I really appreciated that everything is fried fresh to order, you can taste the difference. I got the wings and shrimp combo and added hush puppies. The wing batter was amazing: not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly better than Popeyes or even KFC. A lot of places give you more batter than chicken, but here the chicken was moist and a good portion. The hush puppies were also surprisingly moist and flavorful, some of the best I've had since they're usually dry elsewhere. My find and I split the order and since we eat small portion we think that was a good portion for us and also had leftovers. Everything was so good I didn't even need sauce, and I'm a sauce girl through and through. Gainesville Seafood, out on the Eastern end of town, is that place. It may not be the easiest spot to stumble upon, but that's part of its charm. This is the kind of hidden gem that loyal regulars keep quietly to themselves, the sort of place that feels like a reward for those willing to seek it out. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, the kind of no-frills setting that lets the food do all the talking. I went for a seafood platter, which was shrimp and fish with fries. They have a variety of different kinds of fish available that you can pick from, which is a nice touch. It gives the meal a sense of personalization that you don't always find at casual seafood spots. I went with the flounder, and it turned out to be an easy choice to feel good about. The platter was generously portioned, the kind of meal that leaves you satisfied without the need to contemplate dessert. All of it was excellent. The flounder was light and flaky on the inside, with a crisp golden crust that had clearly seen well-seasoned oil and confident hands in the kitchen. The shrimp were equally well-executed. They were plump, tender, and fried just right, without any of the rubbery disappointment that lesser seafood joints often deliver. Even the fries held their own, providing a solid, starchy counterpoint to all that seafood goodness. The wait wasn't at all bad either, which is worth mentioning because a place this good can often mean a crowd. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience moved at a comfortable, easy pace. Whether you're a Gainesville local or just passing through, Gainesville Seafood is the kind of place worth going a little out of your way for, and once you've been, you'll understand why people keep coming back.

They took their drink orders and these two tables arrived after I came in. The server finally came over and I placed my drink and food order, as I was ready because I've been sitting there so long. I actually knew right away what I wanted which was fried shrimp. It took another 10 minutes to get my water. She put three lemons in my water, and I never order lemons at restaurants because they are known not to be very clean. Meanwhile, they gave the other tables their drinks first. After the server brought my food, she never came back to check on me. I wanted some butter for my grits, but she didn't check on anything. She made sure she checked on the other tables next to me. Later, she brought the check, and I noticed it had a service fee on it (3.9%). Really?! Stop playin'. I inquired what that was and she said if you pay with a card they charge that fee. They assumed I was going to pay with a card and it had no cash option listed. I deducted the fee and provided cash for the meal and ended up still tipping 29% when she was in a terrible server. When she came back to get the check with my cash, she asked if I needed change back. I wish servers would stop asking this and just bring the change back and obviously if the customer is gone, the money is meant for them, or if they want to leave some cash, they will. The intention was to give all of the change to her, but it is in poor taste to ask people this. At this point I just wanted to get out of there because I did not feel very welcomed. I came in this restaurant once before, and nobody would seat me, and I walked out, but a coworker ordered food from here yesterday, and I figured I would give them another chance. Then the server took my receipt and crumbled it up and put it in her pocket. So now I have no record that I had even eaten there except for the plate of food that I ordered (see photo). I should've taken a picture of it. This seems a little shady to me. Additionally, I don't appreciate having a service fee without being advised of it before my check is brought to me, or actually before I even order. I won't go back here. I ordered fried shrimp, cheese, grits, and lima beans. The meal was $9.50 pre-tax. The service is terrible. There were other servers walking by my table when I was sitting there ignored when I was first seated. Who wants to sit in a restaurant with nothing to drink for 20 minutes? I really was thinking of getting up and walking out since nobody could even come and greet me and take a drink order. The food is subpar as well. I'll pass on this place, for the lack of customer service.

Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. I ordered the $41 Steak & Frites, which was stated to be a 10 oz. ribeye. The steak arrived overcooked, dry, and lacking the quality I would expect at that price point. The fries were another disappointment they tasted like frozen, bagged fries, were served cold, and were missing the herb seasoning described on the menu. One of the reasons I chose this restaurant was because the chicken entrée was listed as coming with fingerling potatoes, which I enjoy. The chicken itself was excellent, but the "fingerling potatoes" were simply regular potatoes cut into cubes, not fingerling potatoes at all. It may seem like a small detail, but when a restaurant advertises specific ingredients, I expect the dish to match the menu. I mentioned my disappointment to our server, who said she would speak with the chef. However, no one ever returned to our table to follow up or acknowledge the concern. I'm not someone who complains at restaurants I usually just pay the bill and leave but if I respectfully bring an issue to someone's attention, I do expect the courtesy of a follow-up. We also shared a $12 Caesar salad, which was very ordinary and difficult to justify at that price. Aside from half of a quarter of a lemon in the bowl, there was nothing that made it feel like a premium salad. Finally, we ordered the grilled corn off the cob as a shared side. It tasted more like canned white corn that had been quickly heated on a flat top to create a few char marks than freshly grilled corn. Overall, the biggest disappointment wasn't just one dish it was the overall food quality. For a restaurant positioned as an upscale steakhouse with premium pricing, I expected fresh ingredients, accurate menu descriptions, and attention to detail. Instead, too many items felt like shortcuts, and the quality simply didn't match the prices. I genuinely hoped for a memorable dining experience, but unfortunately, Prime & Pearl did not deliver. I don't mind paying premium prices for exceptional food and service, but this experience wasn't close to meeting those expectations.

So for the folks trying to eliminate inflammatory seeds oils from their diets or those with soybean or peanut allergies you need to stay away. Since blended cooking oils or vegetable oil can def contain both. Atmosphere is casual and interesting with all the football history about. I'm adding menu pictures but we just had drinks with friends and when the food arrived for those not caring about vegetable oil etc we left.
