I've been to the Baltimore Coffee& Tea location in Odenton a few times. I get the latte and like it pretty well. The vibe is pretty nice.

I'm all about BCT! If you used to be a Starbucks fan, but realized that there are wayyyy better options out there, well, Baltimore Coffee & Tea Co is one of of those options. Love the local flavors of their small-batch roasted coffees, like the Federal Hill blend. You have the option to get the K-cup grind or custom grind for your 'insert favorite coffee maker here'. I'm a lover of the Chemex, and BCT grinds my coffee beans perfectly for my preferred coffee tool of choice. If you don't want to make your own coffee, you can opt for their yummy hot or cold concoctions. Since I'm pregnant, I can't really have my go-to cappuccino (which, by the way, they make so well). But non-caffeinated options like the Spiced Chai Latte and decaf iced coffee have been my saving grace. I do miss the REAL STUFF though. Just 3 weeks left, and I'll be back to my contently-caffeinated self P.S. This place is popular! It was pretty packed at 10am on a rainy Sunday. Place is on the smaller side with not that many tables. They have different 'coffee of the day' for self-serve (after you pay) and they have small cups so you can taste test first. If you pay a small extra fee, you can get refills while you are at the coffee shop. I love this because then I can just put a little bit in my cup at a time so it doesn't get cold! The breakfast bagel was way better than I expected. To my surprise, they had many types of cheeses to add and when she said "Brie," I stopped her right there. Brie Please! And they didn't hold out! There was a lot of delicious, creamy brie on it where most places (b/c it's expensive) skimp on it. I also added egg and spinach on an everything bagel. Taking 1 star off because the internet stopped working :/ I asked the girl if she could reset it but it didn't seem to make any difference. We frequent here a lot because my husband gets free coffee. Any service member in uniform gets a free coffee or $1 off any latte. I always go with the coffee of the day myself. A 20 oz will run you $2.60 if you were wondering. There are 4 decaf choices, and 4 regular choices. We come a few times a week, and it's usually the same flavors just spaced out on different days. I think I've seen 3 different ones in the month and a half we've been going. I've been wanting to try them all eventually, but it seems that it'll take much longer than anticipated. Sure I could order the specific bean I wanted for a cup, but if I hate it, we'll down the drain my money goes. So I would rather wait for it to be featured, if it'll happen. The muffins are pretty good as well. They're big enough to share, and they're very moist as well. We sometimes have to remind the cashiers that since my husband is military he gets a coffee free, but my husband just asks, "do you do military?", just to remind them. Also! Ask for a punch card. We weren't offered one, but they were more than happy to give us one. Every 10th drink is free. That's when I'll snag a latte! read more

First time visiting! It's a bit out of the way from home, but I found the atmosphere to be quiet enough - but not dead silent. It's got a great cozy vibe! There's ample seating, both in the front and few bar-style tables in the back as well. I only got to taste an iced latte and an oatmeal raisin cookie, but both were quite delicious! There's a good number of Free 2-Hr parking on the street sides adjacent. (No time limit for weekends though!) The only bummer was the really bad wi-fi connection I was getting. I had a laptop with me and had a pretty difficult time getting a single page to load (I was connected properly and there was only 1 other person at the time on their phone...) First time here! Finally got to bring along my best friend to a yelp event! It was her first Yelp event and I am glad it was a "Meet the Maker" event--these are my favorite! "Meet the Maker" events are my favorite due to the educational information and product knowledge you gain from listening to the Firm's employees speak so passionately. There were plenty of coffees to smell, inspect, and taste with three teas to try as well. I do wish there was more tea to taste, however, I did purchase one that wasn't being sample due to it sounding amazing!--Chocolate Covered Strawberry, HELLO! Oh yea, the Crème Brulee coffee would make a perfect candle! This is something BCT should look into as well as the Cinnamon Bun--Holy Moley Yummy. I believe the young man working the coffee exhibit stated that there are 120 freshly roasted coffees offered at this store (woahhh)--Starbuck's has nothing on them! At this exhibit is where we learned about the coffee brewing process and the different levels of removing acidity for a higher clarity and fresher taste. We learned about products such as the Chemex and Toddy Coffee Makers. Between the three types of ways that BCT brews their coffees (Automatic, French Press and Toddy), Toddy Coffee Brewing is the best and I don't even care for coffee (tea drinker)! I always get the creme brulee iced latte but I substitute salted caramel from time. I'm usually in a rush on my way to work on Saturday morning but I go early enough that it isnt crowded and I'm out pretty quickly. Smells amazing in there and they sell doggie treats. Friendly staff and always great coffee. Get the little visit card. They stamp it when you visit and every 5th drink is free!! read more

Not great, but not terrible either. It was crowded on a Saturday morning. Stopped in to purchase coffee beans and a bite. Nothing like the smell of freshly ground coffee. Our order was wrong, but seeing as the staff looked frazzled and communication amongst them was not their strength, I opted to accept their offerings and enjoy dining alfresco. I liked the tuna with dill, would have been better if the dill were fresh and the cheese, actually melted. Taking the time to search for the right coffee blend and basking in the smells of beans and brew, was delightful. read more

What a great find on our drive through the area! Extensive coffee beans and beverage collection and a mini "shop" with teas and other goodies within the store. We purchased two 1/2 pounds of the beans, so we'll have to give it a try before giving any feedback. However, we had a couple of the specialty lattes (the OMG! and Turtle), and they were both delicious. Both were on the sweeter side - as expected - but overall delicious. You can still taste the coffee, which is nice! The breakfast sandwiches were well made. Good variety of sandwiches you can choose from! This review is based only on the Asiago Bagel I ordered 11/14/17 . It was NOT a bagel , it was a roll with a little cheese baked on top PRETENDING to be a bagel . I ordered it toasted with butter . Friendly, quick service, she handed me the bagel in a little paper bag . I took it and jumped in my car , opened the bag and it was a rather moist,, glob of dough, barely toasted . There's a specific texture to a bagel and this my Friends- was definitely not a bagel . I was SO disappointed !!! Overall I really enjoy this place. It is right down the road so I come here at least a couple of times a week. My favorite drink is their Dirty Pumpkin Chai. The service has seemed to go downhill but I still frequent the location due to convenience and quality of the coffee and food. I have had them forget my food on two visits and have been double charged once. They have a nice selection of food but I've never ordered so I can't comment on that. My one gripe is the chairs are built more for a restaurant and not for lounging. If you want a coffee shop with a couch and chairs to relax in try somewhere else. But if you want to grab a drink to go, it sure beats Starbucks read more

I have visited twice for breakfast and brunch and both times the service, food and atmosphere has been great! They also allow dogs on leashes inside or on their outdoor seating. This is a great way to keep customers happy because their outside seating is limited with about 4 tables total. But inside it's spacious with a small gift shop for any tea needs you might have. So walked in this store about 2 weeks ago for the first time with some friends who love it. I am an espresso guy and loved the mass variety of beans they have to offer. I ask can they grind the Blueberry coffee bean for espresso (cant remember the name but its from Latin America) and they say sure although its not something they get asked to do often. I love espresso but also love awesome flavors. I shouldnt be limited to the flavor of coffee purely based on the fact that I only want espresso. So today my wife walks in and asks them to do the same thing for me, they say "we dont want to keep doing this because then more people will ask for it also and we dont want to start a trend". Well you just lost a customer guys, in the business world if more and more people are asking you to do something then maybe you should do it to capitalize. But maybe you make enough profit to not care or maybe you just dont care about serving each and every customers needs but you just lost one that was willing to give you guys a try outside my usual starbucks. Everyone talks crap about starbucks but it tastes good and when i ask my usual store to grind some other coffee bean into epsresso and make me an americano they do it with no questions asked. I thought this place had real New York style bagels but was wrong I ordered a couple of "everything bagels" with a swear of cream cheese. I had wait a bit because there was a morning rush. Anyway, on receiving my order I discovered on my first bit that the bagel tasted like Thomas Bagels that are available in most stores and are ok if the store doesn't have a bakery. BCT drew me in with the delicious iced lattes, iced chai teas, lox, and French toast bagels with honey walnut cream cheese despite being priced a little higher than Starbucks, Dunkin, or Panera. My last two times having their lox on a multigrain bagel have been subpar to previous visits. My tomatoes were soggy on two separate occasions and both times recently my smoked salmon has had an unpleasant fishy flavor like it wasn't fresh. My iced lattes and iced chai teas have been inconsistent during my last few visits which is unsettling when I order the exact same thing each time. I don't ask for extra pumps of any flavor or spice. In ordering an iced OMG latte three times in one week, it tasted three totally different ways on each occasion. During my most recent visit, I wanted a French toast bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and was advised that despite being still clearly listed on their display menu, the French toast bagel has been discontinued. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys failed me with the lox one too many times for me to revert back to that order so WHAT am I to accompany my iced chai with??? I opted for the cinnamon raisin bagel which was just ok, but was made better by the always delicious honey walnut cream cheese. The iced chai was also pretty decent after first being served to me in a wrong size and then eventually being corrected. My total wait time for said bagel and tea? A full half hour PLUS. I spent more than THIRTY minutes waiting for ONE bagel and ONE tea and when I inquired what the hold up was, the young lady working the front counter said "I'm sorry, sometimes it can take a while." She gave me a card for a free complimentary drink in the future but with this decline in food/drink quality and service, I'm not sure I would look forward to coming back here to redeem the complimentary drink. read more

I've been here once before and I enjoyed my drink then-I don't remember what it was called but it was a specialty drink. This morning I swung by for a to-go breakfast item. Their middle menu screen is offline but you can see it on a card on the counter. I was looking for a lox and bagel and was disappointed not to see it until I noticed it was on the printed menu on the counter. I ordered the lox bagel on an Asiago cheese bagel, it comes with cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, red onions, and capers. I also ordered a 16oz hot pumpkin spice latte, because the weather today felt like October. My first reaction to the latte was not good. I can't really explain it but it tasted off, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it tasted too much like chemicals? I am not a coffee snob or even aficionado at all so forgive me if I can't be more specific. But it was not a drink I would order again. To be fair to my bagel, I didn't eat it until I got into my office but it was soggy. I've had bagels to go before and they've never been so limp as this one was. I don't know if it was toasted, I probably should have asked for it to be if it wasn't because it wasn't very appealing or great to eat. In all I was disappointed in my visit. I previously had a good experience but this one was truly lackluster and I don't know if I'd go again. I've lived in the Odenton/Gambrills area nearly my whole life, and the closest thing to a decent cup of coffee in this town without making it at home was always the Dunkin Donuts in the Food Lion shopping center. That being said, thank God for this place! The espresso is flavorful and never tastes bitter or burnt, and all of the flavored coffee blends make it super easy to have a sweet drink and skip the syrups. Haven't been able to try a wide range of the food, but the cranberry orange muffin definitely blew my mind in terms of freshness. This place is a much needed addition to the Odenton area, and at a perfect time too considering the loss of Crofton's Caribou Coffee a few months back. Coming from a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado and addict, give this place a shot. Totally worth it. read more

What an amazing place! We came here for a special Yelp event and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. The staff are amazing and helpful, pointing us to recommended coffees, explaining differences in preparation and style, and just being on hand no matter what. The coffees... wow. So many to choose from, it's hard to narrow it down. I personally went with the English Toffee and the Almaretto, but my wife stands by the Rainforest Crunch. Even if you don't go for flavored, try some of their imports and blends; the Baltimore was rather nice. And they have many of them in decaf! Then there's the wall of teas. So many teas, including imports, local production, etc. Flavors upon flavors, and they have them in both teabags ~and~ loose leaf. The Oolong I had was rather nice, and there was something tasty about their White. If we hadn't eaten before, we might've also enjoyed some of their food. They have sandwiches, sweets, snacks, etc. The cookies... so HUGE! And it's a nice place to eat at, with plenty of room, nice decor, and even outdoor seating on a nice day. As a lover of coffee, I was super impressed by this place! A friend of mine introduced me to this coffee shop this morning and I must say, I loved the place! They have a nice assortment of coffee to choose from and guess what, they even have samples to try of many of their coffees! A major plus because I hate when I don't know what a coffee tastes like, buy it on a whim, and then don't really care for the flavor. At least with allowing me to taste the coffee first, I am able to choose the one I like the best! There is one downside though... They don't have a location near me (insert sad face emoji) lol. Great tasting coffee is an essential to my day, and if it is for you too, you have to try the coffee at Baltimore Coffee and Tea! I am originally from the area and just returned about a month ago. To really make it feel like I've established myself again, I wanted to find a great local coffee shop, so I tried Baltimore Coffee and Tea! When you first walk in, your senses go crazy for the great coffee smell (since I came around Christmas time, there was an added aroma of delicious spices, perfect for the holiday season). Welcoming you once you enter is all of their different blends of coffee in burlap sacks on their counter. There is a HUGE wall of local coffees and teas over to the right when you first walk in. The staff there were all welcoming and attentive. Since it's an open environment, I could hear the way the staff talked to other customers and themselves and they really do a wonderful job of creating a welcoming environment. Now... the COFFEE. I just got a 12oz coffee expecting to get any blend they gave me, but to my surprise, I got the choice of 6 different blends. I got the Fireside blend (a dark roast) and it was delicious just normal black. I do wish that they had more seating but I went on a Thursday at 3:30pm so it was not that crowded. Baltimore Coffee & Tea is such a delightful little chain! The venue is clean, organized, and smells good. There are plenty of mini tables and outlets for those study bugs. And, the coffee isn't overpriced. They have a counter of huge bags of different varieties of coffee beans and flavors, and a huge wall of all types of teas. We have lived in Odenton for three years and this was our first, but not last, visit to Baltimore Coffee &Tea. I ordered the Chicken and Artichoke Panini. It was delicious! My Hubby had the Ham & Swiss on Chibatta. It was also delicious, he especially like the honey mustard used in the sandwich. We also had coffee: me and iced mocha and he a cafe aulait, both really good. We ordered online and the order was ready when we arrived. We had planned to pick up and go but there were socially distanced outdoor tables so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather.
