It was my first time at this theater, and I came here just to go see Conan. It was well worth it to come to Brooklyn to see him. There are a few bathrooms throughout the place, but it is hard to locate. Had to ask multiple people for directions. They also serve beverages from what I saw when I walked in as I saw lines. There's also merchandise, but I didn't check that out, so I'm not sure what they sell in detail. I think they also have a movie theater in the same place. I didn't see that part since I went to see a live performance. All in all, it felt like a Broadway show theater from the ambiance and seating choices. I would go back.

No food besides popcorn and candy. Service is sort of apathetic, but I don't blame them. I used to work in a movie theater so I get it. Ambiance is great. They show some really wonderful cinema.

Old school so don't expect the best seats or too much room in between. Screen quality is good. Nice break from the modern world lol

Went to a movie at BAM Rose Cinemas on Monday evening. A decent theater, which is nicer than the chains while less distracting than the full-service dining theaters. Quality: The selection of movies will be closer to arthouse, along with the occasional classic. A nice place to see a movie if you are still looking to enjoy a drink, but don't want to deal with the chaos of waiters constantly walking between seats. Expect a calm and quiet crowd, with just the munching of popcorn. Quantity: Lesser known theater, but many seats. Value: $16 for General Admission. $7.50 for a Large Popcorn. Ambiance: BAM Rose Cinemas are part of the large BAM campus in Downtown Brooklyn. They only have a few theaters, but they are quite large. Food can be ordered from the concession stand downstairs, including wine and beer. The seats are old, but very clean. I was actually shocked at how dark the theater got. No reclining seats and the rows have minimal depth, so avoid sitting directly behind someone. Crowd: Went for an early evening showing and the theater was maybe twenty percent full. Service: Friendly staff and very clean theater. Parking: Tough parking in the area, garages are expensive.

Discovered this little gem that isn't quite so little about 7 years ago I was changing life cycles and figuring out life on my own. At the time Brooklyn itself really became an enclave that was helping to heal after one of my greatest time of loss. It's not that I hadn't previously known it was existed, I just didn't realize how exclusive most of the content was and how special it would become to me. While BAM Rose does show some mainstream films their selection is carefully curated to its audience. For the most part this is the only theater in BK that you'll see films from the African and Caribbean Film festivals or series. Twice a year, patrons flock from near and far to binge for 3-7 days on some of the best films created by people of color from all across the globe. It's incredibly special to have the opportunity to see films I might not have otherwise hadn't they been showed at BAM. When I had the opportunity to secure a membership through the IDCNY program, I jumped. It allows me the opportunity to see exclusive content, attend members only events and network...an absolute joy. For my most recent visit, over 4 days I submerged myself into films created by the Caribbean Diaspora. Rich in content and culture they questioned and challenged everything from faith to family, religion, sexuality and everything in between. The location is clean, welcoming and staff is always accessible to answer questions or address concerns. There are enough bathrooms to deter lengthy waits and the concession stands will cater to your snack/ sweet tooth habits. No complaints here.

    Where to sit?

I will have to begin by saying that this is really a 3.5 star review rounded up because the employees are friendly and helpful. What I love about this theater is their selection of interesting and artistic films (though as others have pointed out, they might want to rotate them more often), their matinee and members ticket discounts, their better than average concessions stand and the building itself which is far more interesting than the chain theaters. What I do not love here are the uncomfortable seats and lack of leg room. So while I appreciate the classic theater look, I'd appreciate a more comfortable seat more!

The choreography was terrible because it seemed like the dances were made up on the spot except for one of the dancers who seemed to have a dancing background but not even that could save this show that was overly-priced. I wish I could ask for my $45 back but at last, this was a lesson to me to not go to anything that doesn't have any reviews because I have a feeling that they would have been all one-stars. The theater itself was very disorganized and had chairs set very closely to each other in what was the orchestra area. The stage itself looked like it belonged in a middle school and the balcony sets were too close to one another. There was barely a story line, the dancers were "meh" and Dracula.. Ill leave it at that. The venue wasn't the most organized but the staff was friendly/pleasant. The poor rating is mostly for the show, not the theater.

Connecting with other people and making new choices is good for the soul! You don't need to have any improv experience for a drop-in class or Level 1. Add it all together, and you've got a hell of a base for future improv experiences. Nolan and Scarlett are the main teachers, and they're amazing. Their weekly icebreaker exercises are always fun and low-pressure, and they make everyone feel welcome. Well, as long as you're an adult. There are some NSFW language and themes not meant for kids. Speaking of work, they also do corporate events. I've been trying to get my company to bring them in for some team building and presentation skills classes, but we'll see. She didn't come with me, she merely put the session within reach and nudged me along my way. I'm so glad she did because it was such a unique enjoyable experience! For a cool $60 puppet (and a whole bunch of Muppet) enthusiasts get together for an afternoon of learning how to sculpt a puppet from foam. This idea may sound simple enough, but it includes sturdy foam blocks, knives of various sizes, scissors, sand paper, permanent markers, pastels, and some creativity on behalf of each participant. Come with an idea (a photo or sketch) in mind and Kevin (the master artist and creative director) expertly guides you through the rest. The session is slated for 3.5 hours, but time flies when you're having fun! In fact, I would have preferred another hour with time to decorate my creation - being able to add fur, hair, etc. would have been a bonus. However, I'm confident I can spruce up my Jersey girl puppet BrookeLynne with an old Snookie Halloween wig and some false eyelashes. I'm strongly considering going to another session and being a little more creative with what I sculpt. The animals all turned out fantastically! Go. Register for a workshop now.

I asked to have my payment put towards a future class over the phone. The person I spoke with did not seem to get what I was saying and ended the call. I emailed Lone Wolf instead and explained that I'd like to re-schedule. After a day I received a reply stating that I would not be able to re-schedule and that they had a no re-fund policy. I stated that I didn't want a refund, I just wanted the services I already paid for and wanted to schedule a future class. I was told that Lone Wolf had tried re-scheduling in the past and that it was a "Problem" for them, I was offered a discount of $15 on a future class. I asked how they can remember me and give me a discount but they couldn't remember that I'd already paid? It ended with me not getting a class scheduled and being out $65. Nowhere on their website does it state that you cannot re-schedule a class. Only that you can't get a refund. Big difference. In their defense, I canceled late so they could not fill the spot I left. In my defense, I booked that spot late the day before, so that spot wasn't getting filled anyway and they still had my money if I went or not. So buyer beware: If you have an emergency and can't make this class you can kiss your money goodbye.
