A driver from Bambauer Towing, dispatched through AAA, showed up with absolutely no communication from AAA about arrival time. Because we were stranded with our children, we had already called another towing company who arrived promptly and was polite, professional, and actively helping us. When the Bambauer driver arrived, he was rude from the very beginning. He interrupted a conversation we were already having with the two gentlemen helping us and immediately demanded an ID without even introducing himself. When we explained that the AAA membership holder could be there shortly, he repeatedly said he "couldn't do anything" and kept insisting we would be charged anyway. We clearly told him we were not using his services and asked him to step away. Instead of respecting that, he continued to stand in our personal space, arguing and telling us we would be charged, even after we asked him to leave us alone. His behavior felt aggressive and harassing--especially unacceptable considering our children were present. He's honestly lucky my husband didn't call the police over how he was acting. To make matters worse, when we called the office to report his behavior, the woman who answered was equally rude and dismissive, claimed the driver was "in the right," refused to help resolve the situation in any way, and then hung up on my husband. This company lacks professionalism, basic customer service, and accountability. If you value being treated with respect--especially in a stressful roadside situation--I would strongly recommend choosing a different towing company. read more

We have triple AAA Towing and needed a tow from Williams to Redding Ca. In the early morning.It was late at night and no Tow company was available but Bambauer towing took the tow making a bad night doable! My son managed to get lost following his Garmin GPS and ended up near the top of the Mendocino Forest Mountains, or more precisely down a cliff side of Anthony's Peak in the Mendocino Forest. He was trying to turn around his truck and got stuck. With no snow chains, snow gear, food, water, or a battery charger for his cell phone, he was pretty much in big trouble and in the middle of nowhere! Before his phone battery died he managed to get a call out to us and I was able to get him to read me the Garmin GPS coordinates of 39°50'695"N 122°57'814"W. (look it up on google maps and you will see where he was)...I spent 4 hours calling towing companies and nobody wanted to help because it was too far for them to go. My friends son told me about Bambauer Towing Service. I called them and Louis answered the phone and assured us that he would get our kid out of the jam that he was in. Louis mentioned it wouldn't be inexpensive since it was a 6 hour round trip journey and would require a 4 wheel drive towing rig. He asked me if I knew the approximate area or if I might have the GPS coordinates, which I am really glad that I asked my son to give me before his phone died! A blizzard with snow started up when Bambauer Towing arrived to help him.The story ended very well for my son and dads wallet is a little bit lighter but I am really glad that there are folks out there that are willing to go the extra mile to help like Bambauer did for us and our son. This story could have had a very grim ending, but Bambauer came to the rescue! read more

My sister locked herself out of her car in the middle of an agriculture field and bambauer came to assist. They left her after coming to her location, still stranded, to respond to an "emergency". The car is still locked. It has been 4 hours and they still have not come back. If leaving a young girl, alone, in the pitch black dark stranded is not terrible then I don't know what is. We had a motorhome breakdown on I5 near Willows, CA. We were able to get off the interstate and into a large lot behind a gas station. Our motorhome is on a sprinter chassis with the Mercedes engine. Not all diesel repair services can work on it. Lewis Bambauer made sure we got the correct information to our roadside assistance co. and only because of Mr. Bambauer's knowledge and expertise were we able to get authorization to have our moho towed to the only diesel repair that could fix it within 80 miles. After scaling my truck, I found that I needed to reconfigure my load. I asked three local truck stops with fork lifts for help and they all said they were not allowed to do so. My driver manager gave me two phone numbers to call and one of them was Bambauer. I contacted them and they said that if I can get the truck to their yard, they can help me for a lot less than it would be if they came to me. I told them no problem. I arrived close to after hours, opened the curtain and unstrapped the pallets I needed moved. Bryce and team wasted no time. They had my trailer reconfigured in short order and at a very reasonable cost. Not only were they efficient but the whole team was very friendly. I hope in the future I never need their services again,but if I'm in the Orland CA area again and find myself in need, they will be my first call.
