They were those mass-produced, spear-shaped, pressed chicken pieces that taste pretty gross. Disappointing, especially for the kids. It also felt kind of expensive -- about $60 for a family of four. Overall, if you stick to the burgers and root beer you'll be happy. Veer from that and be prepared for disappointment. Fine for a quick burger run, just manage your expectations on the sides and kids' options.

It might have been over the top, but it felt great. We sat outdoors in the alley which was far more charming than 'alley denotes. Served by Brian, we were taken care of like regulars. The food was great, truly. We had gumbo and jambalaya which were out of this world. Definitely heavy on the heat, but we loved both dishes. Both came out in a hot cast iron skillet which kept the food hot for quite awhile, which is a very nice touch. Dessert was similarly satisfying. We had pecan pie and banana pudding. While the pudding was good, I'll be thinking of that pecan pie for a long time - it was just perfect.
