First we will start with the unexpected. When you enter what appears to be a regular establishment, you are immediately transported to the 1940's. Great oldies music playing and really cool decor. Next the service. Everyone is dressed toward the period and they are all incredibly pleasant and professional. Finally the food. We tried the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, the corned beef hash Benedict, an egg and avocado dish and then the star of the meal the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pancakes. Was visiting lake George this weekend, and went to The breakfast spot. It was so good.. there was a little wait but it went pretty fast, just took our cell number and txt us when our table was ready. Restaurant was nice and clean, staff were friendly and helpful with the menu.. menu had so much I wanted to try. I ordered the bleu Avocado omelette.. It was so delicious I can't wait to go back.. it had cranberries and it the flavors went well together, it came with home fries, also very good.. I also had the caramel latte, it was well made. My husband had the breakfast sandwich with a side order of pancakes. The pancakes were butter and fluffy, made just right. The only negative is they charged $6 for white toast , that's a bit much for two slices of white bread. read more

We stopped by this diner on our way from Vermont. It caught my eyes with the history and the theme. I love that every part of the restaurant has information, and knowing my curious self, it was a good read. We were seated quickly and our waiter came and greeted us. We came here on a Sunday morning on the way from Vermont heading back to NYC. We made it to the breakfast rush but were seated right away. We were also a big group. Overall the food was delicious. The hot chocolate was kind of watery but I think it's more a novelty item. The coffee was just okay too but it is free refills. The best item was the steak and eggs. This was a fun experience and the 45-minute wait was worth it. We enjoyed the old-time 40's vibe quite a bit. Despite being very crowded, or waitress was prompt, attentive, and checked on us regularly. The restaurant was clean and well-kept despite the apparent demand. I enjoyed my standard breakfast platter of bacon, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. My eggs were fluffy, my bacon was cooked perfectly, and my hashbrowns were flavorful and well-seasoned. Prices were a bit inflated considering these are relatively basic dishes that we ordered, but the food was good. Upcharge to flavor our coffee was a bit excessive. A unique atmosphere and menu with a true 1940s feel. Friendly and easy to talk to staff as well. The to go specialist was flexible and lenient on menu modifications, substitutions, and additions. The music was a little too loud for my liking, but there is outdoor seating. Although I got the meal to go, the short time I was in the restaurant was a pleasant experience. As far as the food, the eggs had little to no cheese. When I brought it to the to go specialist's attention, she said the cheese is "in with the eggs," but it clearly wasn't. What is seen on the eggs in the picture is hollandaise sauce, which was very minimal; however, when asked for more, they did give it. The eggs were "flat," with hardly any veggies and the potatoes were very salty. I was told on the phone that they have real maple syrup, but when I got there, all they had was different variations of the stuff with corn syrup. So the I ate the French toast slice that was ordered on the side with no syrup. Also, the menu on here needs to be updated, as the prices are different. 3 stars because of the hospitable service. read more

I ended up ordering a single Chocolate Chip Pancake and Mac n' Cheese Home Fries. Both items were really good - the home fries were my favorite of the two. The Mac n' Cheese was creamy, the potatoes were crispy, and the amount of bacon and jalapeño was perfect. The reason I took off a star was due to the wait. I actually came here because of that last review saying they do t like republicans made me wanna go. the food was AMAZING I had the steak Benedict and my boyfriend got the waffle plate and both of us fell in love. The hash browns were seasoned so good I usually don't eat them but I ate them all, especially with the side of the garlic hollandaise it was to die for. The staff was lovely, super sweet and efficient. And the restaurant itself was beautiful I loved the decoration we were reading everything! Only small complaint would be you have to ask for syrup they don't bring any with the waffles. I can't wait to go again! This is the most popular breakfast place in LG area. Place gets really busy really early. They do have a quick turnover time, usually there's a 30-40 minutes wait time. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The food comes out within a decent time. Good quantity and tasty as well. I liked the breakfast burger a lot, really huge and fulfilling. You know a place is absolutely killing it when they're able to afford the rent in the (almost) center of the village and only open from 7am to High Noon (and for only half of the year). Now that's a flex we should all aspire to. Retro-designed (think Happy Days meets Johnny Rockets without being cheesy) to harken back to the days of the Andrew Sisters (ask your grandparents who they were) and America found Bob Hope hysterical (it was a strange time, lemme tell ya)... this place has countless unique and oddball creations (where else would you find a Stephen King-inspired sandwich?!) and was hands down our fave breakfast spot. A lot of their dishes lean heavy on/with eggs (something I'm not a fan of) but there was plenty of other delightful items... including these garlic-parm home fries that I honestly couldn't stop thinking about. Unreal ..... so happy we found this restaurant I would say do NOT skip this ........absolutely excellent on all fronts

It is a 50's theme restaurant and the breakfast dishes were awesome. The staff were prompt and nice. Thought it was a little pricey, but for Upstate NY and the location it was appropriate. I'd eat here again! read more
