Wow, Vallejo has an outstanding Italian restaurant downtown. Had an early dinner of their Bambino's Spring Salad and Spaghetti w two meatballs, a Manhattan and Coke. The salad blew me away with delicious candied walnuts, cranberries, apple slices and a delicious Honey Basil Vinaigrette. Sooo Good!!! The spaghetti was served w a wonderful meat sauce and two excellent meatballs. The Manhattan was excellent opting for a in house aged bourbon that was out of this world, cudos to the bartender. Parking was easy, the table settings open, with a bar in the back with bar chairs for those that like to sit at the bar. Unexpectedly, they had about 3-4 monitors to watch sports if interested. Plenty of room to enjoy the experience, with bathrooms easily reached and very clean. Our waiters were young men, friendly, and willing to give excellent recommendations. I will be back!!! read more

This is a great find in Vallejo. An Italian restaurant with authentic Italian flavors that is not part of a massive chain. I've been for lunch twice and have been impressed both times. The first time I had the Chicken Parm sandwich ,which came with a side of spaghetti with bolognese. It was served fresh and hot, large portions for a reasonable price point. I ended up taking leftovers home for the next day. During my second visit, I had the eggplant parmesan. It was exceptional. A very light coating of flour/breading that made the eggplant flavor come through, which kept the dish less heavy. I ate the entire portion but took home the garlic bread we had ordered as an appetizer. The eggplant was some of the best I've had in a long time and reminded me of my Italian Nana's recipe. High praise indeed! And both visits, the food came out fast, and the service was attentive. The restaurant looks small outside, but it's a very large space inside. And they have room for live music and apparently dancing. I'm so glad the owners chose Vallejo to open their establishment. I'm looking forward to popping in for happy hour one day. read more

This review is long overdue. I had previously been to the original location in Concord. YEARS AGO. And loved it. So of course, when my date recommended that we meet at this location, I was totally game. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the ambience of the football game and people watching. Plus it's always fun to see all the food coming out of the kitchen. We ordered entirely way too much and everything was delicious. The sautéed mushrooms are a must order. And don't forget to ask for the house made breadsticks. The downtown area is cute. Come support the local businesses! Parking was fairly easy, restrooms were clean, service was good and attentive. Decided to try this place with my gf before we went out drinking. We thought the carbs would help. The service is great. The waitresses were really nice and very accommodating. The reason why there is 2 stars is because of the food. I had ordered the tortellini with the pesto while my girlfriend had the cheese ravioli with marinara. I don't think the food is worth the price that we paid. The lasagna was cold when we got it and the marinara tasted like it was from a can. Even when we asked for them to remake it the sauce was not good. The pesto was a little bit better but you can tell it wasn't as fresh. The sauce was just canned pesto with heavy cream. I also ordered a Vallejo Iced Tea which was basically a Long Island Ice Tea. It def. gets you messed up. That drink is def. for those that are trying to get drunk. I don't know if I recommend this place for the food but there was a good crowd because there was live music the night we went. And they were pretty good. I've heard their pizzas are good. I am saddened to write this review because I make it a point to support local business but enough is enough! I have been going to Bambino's since they opened in 2020 and we often order take out (2 times of month) Over the last year, there has been a steady decline in the quality of the food they are cranking out. I am not sure if the kitchen staff absolutely doesn't know how to cook or the management doesn't care what crap is coming out of the kitchen but this place is a total of YOUR money. Lately, we have been disappointed several times and expressed that to the restaurant (rather than write a review) but nothing has changed and last night was just the worst. I want our money back so I can wipe my butt with it and flush it down the toilet! We ordered wings, a large half n half pizza and a Cesare salad. The wings were so dramatically overcooked they were inedible and smelled like fish. Obviously, they are not changing their fryer oil. The pizza had NO pizza sauce on it and each side of the pizza had different types of cheeses, like they ran out of cheese and melted shaved parmesan on it. The pizza was way under cooked and disgusting! And in notorious Bambino's famous, they placed the overcooked wings on top of the salad so that the lettuce starts wilting and is warm. Everything we ordered was gross, incorrectly prepared and served to their customers. They just don't care about anything! Beware if you order anything cold (salad/ice cream/dessert) they will always place it in the bottom of the bag and put something warm on top of it. Common sense=None! I have mentioned this to them several times but they don't care. I always order blue cheese dressing with my wings and always just throw ranch in but I specially ask blue cheese be in my order last night.....watery ranch AGAIN! Watered down salad dressing. Their short cuts are so obvious and I am not paying for it anymore. I called Bambino's and was refunded for the wings...was told they deep fry their calamari is the same oil and that's why they tasted like fish. WHAT??? I really want to love this place and we really/seriously need eateries in Vallejo but until the food is consumable I will no longer support/order/visit Bambino's, The reason for the 2 stars is because they have a great location, a big restaurant, music, comedy, lots of big TV's for sports, a bar and nice staff but if your hungry and want decent/good/acceptable food this is not your place, regrettably.... read more

We alway get takeout. This was our 3rd or 4th visit. So disappointing . We order pints of sauces. pesto,gorgonzola both were watered down with cream and very weak in flavor and very runny. My portobello ravioli with marsala sauce which was runny and unfavorable .Nothing like I've had in the past. My son order beef ravioli with gorgonzola sauce this was water down also! Our ravioli's were good,Our sauces didn't match the quality we've had in the past!! My huband ordered rigatoni with bolognese and pint of bolognes sauce,his meal was great and perfect. 7/22/22 We stopped by Bambino's for dinner before heading to the airbnb. We had to sit outdoors since we had Coco, but it was still warm out. We parked right in front around 8:30PM, so the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Our waitress, Kaylin was friendly and brought us water, menus, bread and butter. The bread was super duper hard unfortunately. I was expecting a softer loaf, but it was really tough and too chewy. Here's what we got: 1. Eggplant parmigiana (his) 2. Fettuccine fruti di mare (mine) 3. Bruschetta (share) There's definitely a family style vibe to the place. As we were waiting for the food, I noticed that the customers were people that lived in the area and were repeat customers. The first to come out was the bruschetta. I think the plain bread from earlier and the bread used in the bruschetta were the same, but the bruschetta tasted waaay better. This is probably due to to the fact that there was tomato and basil on top and that went well with the crunchy bread. Even though it was the end of the day, the tomato topping tasted light and refreshing. 15 minutes later, the main dishes came out and they both smelled so good. My fettuccine dish had a surprising decent amount of seafood AND the shrimp was mostly shelled, that's a double win in my eyes. The sauce was creamy and covered everything on the plate so nothing was dry. I genuinely enjoyed my pasta dish. I got a small bite of his Eggplant parmigiana and it doesn't look appetizing initially, but it was surprisingly delicious. Immediately they told us the wait was 30 minutes because they are short staffed. We asked if we can go to the bar. We were told no because no seating was left. Then we asked if we can just order pizza take out since the kitchen is closing. We were told no take out. That's when we decided to just leave. The menu here is somewhat different than the other location. I wanted something hearty today, I really wanted a Chicken Piaccata. I opted to get some Pasta with it. The portion is bigger than expected. The Chicken was moist. There's something about Butter, Lemon, and Capers. The Sauce really shined, the Lemon Butter came through, there's a zing to it, and the brininess from the Capers. The Pasta really soaked up all the Sauce. This what I want in a Chicken Piaccata. I also had to do a homemade Tiramisu for dessert again, and it was very good. Turns out it's my favorite restaurant here in Vallejo, the staff and service is perfection despite of how busy it may get at times. Bambino's has been on my list of places to try out, and I've been curious ever since I've noticed it it on a walk at the Farmer's Market. I decided to DoorDash (because I was feeling lazy), and ordered their lasagna with a side of garlic bread and their chipotle wings. Lasagna (4/5): I've been craving lasagna for the longest and this definitely satisfied that craving! I loved how it came drenched in their red meat sauce, and the lasagna itself was supper cheesy. A couple of bites I took of just the lasagna were a little bland and lacked seasoning, but nothing the extra meat sauce didn't fix. Garlic Cheese Bread (4/5): It's hard to mess up garlic bread, especially when you top it off with cheese, am I right? The garlic flavor was definitely strong (which I loved!), but the bread itself was a little too chewy/stale. Granted, I got this through delivery so that's to be expected after waiting for it to get here. I am sure if it was straight out of the oven, it would be even that much better! Chipotle Wings (4/5): I looooved the spice on these. Nothing too "kick you in the throat," just enough to make you suck some air in between each wing LOL. The wing sauce seemed to be some type of mayo base, which can get very rich very fast. I suggest having these with a coke (or a beer if that's your thing), to refresh your tastebuds ever so often. We went here for a funeral reception and I thought they did a great job and was surprised the spot was so cozy. It's deceiving large inside compared to the outside. They have a great bar and tvs for sports viewing. They also had great spaces to hang out. For the buffet they served salad, bread, garlic bread, lasagna, pizza, and pasta with a meat sauce. I thought the food was pretty good albeit a little salty. All that said the buffet fed like 50-60 people and that's not an easy tast.
