This used to be a fine restaurant. The last two times we went there the quality and service have been terrible. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. It was tough, like leather, so I returned it and asked for something else. My wife finished her dinner while I waited for my second order. We waited about 20 minutes while a dozen other orders were delivered to other tables. I finally told the waiter to just give us the check, which took about another five minutes to get then pay. The food was really good!!! We only got the two rolls, which where about 10 pieces each, and an order of the crab fried rice. I was only able to eat the Dancing Krab roll though. I'm pregnant and the Rock n Roll has salmon and says it's deep fried, but not enough to cook the salmon. I was really disappointed. But my roll and the crab fried rice was more than enough! My husband thought the fried rice was a bit bland, but I thought it was good. Also, the service was good! Ahsia (I think I spelled it right) was very attentive to my prego needs. Don't go here with high expectations at all. I came here because I was in the mood for some Asian and the quality of the food was not at all what I was hoping it would be when I placed the order. If you don't have high expectations or you are just looking for a quick pick me up instead of getting a quick to go plate from Publix, sure go here. But if you already have a sense of how things are SUPPOSED to taste, DO NOT GO HERE. Also, if you are also wanting to get that "oh cool, I've always wanted to try this dish. I've heard all about it and always wanted to try it." DO NOT GO HERE thinking that it is going to be the authentic thing. Appetizer: a salmon roll. This was probably the better of the 2 dishes that I ordered. However, it was overpacked and not rolled properly so each bite was falling apart as you try to dip it lightly into the soy sauce while using chopsticks. The salmon wasn't as fresh as I had hoped, but it still served it's purpose I guess. Main entree: Beef pho First of all, do not serve pho if it isn't going to be made correctly. It is supposed to be made with an infusion of flavors of anise, cloves, and other spices that are supposed to be boiled them simmered for a long time. The broth that came out was basically like a clear almost watery color that also tasted very bland. The smell might have been there, but you tasted nothing. Underspiced, underseasoned, and undercooked. Second, if you're going to serve pho, use the correct noodles. The noodles that were used were too thick and therefore did not infuse any of the flavors. They were also undercooked. Third, the meat that was placed in the broth was not tender at all. In fact, it was tough and hard to chew through. The bean sprouts were not fresh and did not add in the nice crunch of the dish. There were no onions added and the small sprinkling of cilantro didn't do much for the flavor either. I would give this place a 1 if it was just solely off of the food itself, but with the good customer service that they do provide, it was bumped up one more star. The people are friendly and come by often enough to check on you. There is also a variety of menu items that they offer. This is a combination of Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese based off of the items that they do offer on the menu.... however, I will not vouch for how they all taste and how close they might be to how it is supposed to be tasting considering the review of the items stated above. It is slightly offending that you would charge people $5 for a plate of kimchi that is SERVED AS AN APPETIZER??? Kimchi is NOT an appetizer!! It is supposed to be serve as a side dish to either compliment to the food that you are eating or to add in that finishing touch of flavors in your mouth to the entree that you are eating. read more

This place is like Yelp says "A-OK". They offer Asian cuisine with a very western flare. Truthfully it's not bad, but it is far from traditional cuisine, so if you are a sushi buff or really into Japanese food, this place really isn't for you. This place remains at the top of our list. We go about once a week so we are very familiar with the menu, service and quality of food. Excellent in each aspect for their category. Sushi is excellent here but if you do not like sushi, the rest of the menu is outstanding and will make you return many times. Do not let the word sushi keep you away - I was one of those but they introduced me to sushi via their Bacon Jubilee and I have been eating and trying different sushi ever since. My wife and I are here visiting The Villages from LA and needed to get some culture food. This place did the trick:) Although a tiny bit hard to find on our navi- once we found it (near Target) we were pleasantly surprised. As we walked in we were greeted immediately by 1 of the friendly staff. We sat and looked over the menu and decided to get a few pieces of sushi, some wok cooked beef with garlic and broccoli , and my wife ordered the spicy tuna with seaweed salad. We enjoyed it all- the sushi was fresh- the Salmon Tartar was delicious. I personally wanted a little more flavor from my garlic beef dish, but it wasn't bad by any means. Save your cash, petrol and expectations, this place requires new management and head chef. A bowl of hot steaming soup was what we needed during this cold January evening. My girlfriend and I are recent transplants to the small town of Lady Lake, FL, so when we saw that Bamboo Bistro served pho', we were ecstatic. Upon entering, we were welcomed by an upbeat hostess who showed us our table. Our server and the rest of the staff were very nice and accommodating although the place was packed. A dinner meeting was taking place in the middle of the main dining area. Once we were seated and handed our menus, our eyes darted to their pho' list. We were surprised they only had chicken, beef, seafood or combination as choices. Upon perusing their menu, we decided on starting off with shrimp tempura and a Volcano roll followed by two beef pho's. The shrimp tempura was bland. I thought that its dipping sauce would redeem it, but to my dismay, I thought I was dipping into 2 parts water and 1 part soy sauce. I'll skip talking about their Volcano roll, or rather the Not-Volcano Roll. It doesn't erupt with flavor as you would expect from it's name. It's more like a dormant volcano in the Pacific. Now regarding their pho' or what I call faux, I'll break it down into sections: 1. Broth. Any decent human being who's had pho' knows that the secret to a great-tasting pho' is the broth. 2. Noodles. They used flat rice noodles that have obviously been made at an earlier date and only reheated whenever customers order. 3. Meat. Our beef pho' came with pre-cooked slices of beef brisket. Traditional pho' requires partly raw meat to be dunked into steaming hot broth, too cook it slow. This ensures the meat keeps its melt-in-your-mouth quality when eaten. 4. Condiments. Bean sprouts were brown, obviously old. The mint and basil leaves looked a bit wilted, the lime and jalapeno were the ones looking fresh. It's probably because they use the latter two ingredients often. I barely finished my bowl. I managed to pick off some of the meat while my girlfriend finished her broth, but only after adding heaps of soy sauce. It's an over-priced restaurant. The price would've been fine by me if only their food backed up the dollar amount on my receipt. Never coming back to this place. I'll tell everyone I know, every chance I get, so I can spare them the disappointment. read more

We have loved the food here since we moved up last October. However, when we ordered to go last time, we were surprised to see that they charged an additional $4 over the menu price. Staff said they were new and didn't know why. Thought maybe the 'to go' prices were different - although they have t been in the past. Ummm, how is this place getting four stars? The food was positively revolting. The Curry and Pad Thai were not even close to being Thai food. If Thai isn't their specialty, the chef should least do a web search to find out what it should look like. Or quit offering it. I can buy a jar of curry paste, make my own, and be closer to authentic. We didn't finish our food ... and not because we weren't hungry. It took two days the scrape the wretched flavors out of my mouth. And to this day, I gag slightly when thinking about it. The wait staff sure seemed lost, but at least showed some semblance of being friendly. We didn't get the appetizer we ordered, and we're thankful for that. If we ordered wrong, then they need to choose one style of food and cook it well. I mean, how does a restaurant offer Chinese, Japanese, and Thai? This restaurant was recommended to us by friends who live in this area for really good Thai food. They were right. Not only was the restaurant very appealing visually even though it is in a shopping strip. It looked like a fine dining and everyone spoke good enough English for us to order easily. We also loved their ginger dressing, which is different than a lot of the dressings with the ginger flavor. We liked it extra special though. Our first visit and was enticed by their $10 wine tasting special (they do this every 2 months) which was a great value and included some basic reds whites and sparkling selections. The menu offers all one can want in the way of Asian dining with a bistro twist. We found the Basil Seafood Delight a balanced choice of lobster, shrimp, clams and scallops with sautéed vegetables a flavorful choice at only $19. The Snow Mountain Coconut Shrimp was most excellent. The breading is as light as anything I've tasted and the shrimp was sautéed to perfection. The atmosphere inside is comfortable and well managed and there is outdoor seating option as well. The dining experience was topped off by excellent service by Megan who was attentive and genuine.
