Well Hot & Sour soup was mushrooms and water, no tofu nor could I taste egg in vinegar broth. they wanted to give me another of the same thing. Went for lunch today 3/3/21 after seeing this restaurant pop up on yelp. I had tried this location when it was a similar Chinese Bowl place. I believe this was just a name change because the place looks exactly as I remember from years ago. The menu does not offer Lunch specials and that was disappointing. I was able to order the Mongolian Beef and picked up my order and returned to my car to eat it. At first when i opened the container I thought that it was not going to be enough food. It looked loaded with Broccoli. I am not a fan of this veg so I just pushed them to the side to get to the good stuff. I ordered the Fried rice to go with it. The bowl did not seem to end as I ate and ate. I could not finish it all and it had a ton of meat which is way more than I normally get at other restaurant's in the area. I thought the food was fresh and well prepared. IMO it could have used a little more seasoning but I added my favorite seasoning that I carry in my car and enjoyed my lunch. I was impressed with the service and hospitality of the host. I ordered the fry rice with shrimp/chicken. The wait was about 5mins which was good. My food was hot and tasted very good. Free refills on the fountain drinks. The host came by and checked to see if I needed anything else. Condiments on request, I needed extra sweet-n-sour sauce. The portion was spot on for my money. I looked for a quick place that has vegan options. It had been a long day and I hadn't eaten lunch yet I was greeted by William who helped me look over the menu. I settled on Singapore Noodles and spring rolls. It was ready in no time at alll The order was correct, but honestly was missing a bit of flavor. Usually Singapore noodles are spicy because of the curry. It was only okay. I could smell the curry, but something was missing. The spring rolls were good. I'd still recommend this place as a goto for a quick meal. Hoping the other entrees and dishes are more flavorful. read more

The cashier was friendly but that was about it. Food was blah, place could use a huge scrub down. I had orange chicken, miso soup and shrimp tempura. The miso and tempura were fine. The chicken from my orange chicken was over cooked to the point of crisp pieces on thinly sliced chicken breast! The sauce was ok but the overcooked chicken ruined my dish. I will not visit again. I have finally found a restaurant with amazing Chinese and Thai food!! I ordered online and by the time we arrived the food was ready like within 15 minutes and everything taste delicious. We ordered General Tso** (Chicken with broccoli), Singapore noodles with mixed veggies, chicken fried rice and the green beans appetizer. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because the chicken and broccoli only came with two pieces of broccoli. I've never had that happen before normally there is a good portion of broccoli anywhere I order. However, you will not be disappointed if you try this place. I'll definitely be back. read more

I'm stunned by one of the dishes I received. I ordered Beef Crispy Cantonese Noodles. The sauce and vegetables were ok although the beef was a little dry. The noodles were a disaster. As soon as the lid came off the container you could smell the rancid oil. The noodles were inedible. Clearly they were fried in rancid oil. My house smells from it. Removed it from my home and using a diffuser to cleanse the air. I'll give them a 2 because the crab rangoon were delicious and clearly not fried in rancid oil. read more

I love this place. The Szechwan chicken has the right amount of spice, the egg roles are fantastic and you can't go wrong with the General Tsos. The owner was gracious enough to offer me a complimentary Thai Tea while I waited for my take out order to be completed. Service like that definitely gets 5 stars in my book. read more

It's obviously a seat your self establishment, when there is a big menu above the cashier (that's your sign) We came at prime dinner time on a Friday and there was only one or two other family's that were there as well. The owner has no idea how delivery apps work, and its infuriating. He started requiring you to add expensive appetizers *with every single entree* if you order through an app. ATTN: bamboo bistro owner: screw that. You're supposed to price the delivery app fees into your food prices, not force your customers to buy expensive garbage they don't want. And when I say garbage, I mean it. It's not even the full list of appetizers. No egg rolls, no Tom kha soup, it's brilliant selections like... Kimchi. Kimchi is not an appetizer. Almost inedible I brought my girlfriend here and it was one of the worst experiences ever. I'm a big fan of Chinese food and I work in a Chinese restaurant. Looked as they didn't care about their job. I waited half an hour to get seated, and when someone finally came over to the host stand, I said hey I've been waiting half an hour to get seed and they said oh you can sit anywhere and I asked why there wasn't a sign they said well you should know if there is no one there there. One star because zero was not an option. Firstly, I ordered thru Uber Eats. It forces you to pick a side and PAY additional for it. Ordered fried rice with shrimp, it came with 3 whole shrimp. I tried Bamboo Bistro for the first time last night through Door Dash delivery. I thought everything was OK. Wished it was better. Specifically, I had the lettuce wraps for a starter. The chicken was really minced. That's OK, but the texture was like sand and it seemed under seasoned for me. Same for most everything I had. The Hot and Sour Soup had a little too much vinegar for my taste and could have been spicier with more ingredients. I had Kung Pao Shrimp and felt it needed much more seasoning. Much more chili flavor would have made it better. I liked the potstickers. And, the Thai Iced Tea was tasty. Not sure I would go back because both T. Jin's and Wen's are better flavored dishes. I ordered delivery via UberEats yesterday. I got pad Thai, wonton soup and spring rolls. Spring rolls were good but the others were so salty, they were inedible as they were delivered. Luckily, I had rice noodles so I cooked some and added it to the pad Thai and it helped quite a bit. Went here to grab some takeout. Upon arrival, the staff were not welcoming or friendly. I asked to order a stir fry with no soy sauce or to be GF. I was bluntly told they won't do it. The only thing they have for me is curry or GF noodles (pad Thai), neither of which I wanted. I was then informed by the staff that Asian food is all like that. To which I kindly replied to, where I'm from, they offer me white sauce or use GF soy sauce(tamari). Just for the sake of needing dinner, I ordered some curry, medium spicy. If i eat curry, it's usually pumpkin, but they don't have that. I ordered the green with eggplant and pork. I got it home and found it only to have 1 piece of eggplant and barely any spice. I also ordered both mine and my guys with no bell pepper, both of which had bell pepper. This place has one of the most generic menus I've ever seen covering most of what we can get in Pflugerville. They need to stick to one cuisine so they have a chance to do it better. I chose the chinese inspired cuz the kid likes it. General Tso's, lo mein with beef, fried dumplings, and egg drop soup...$50 The quantity was good, but I also paid extra for it. If the food was good then the price woulda been fine, but now we have leftovers for days. And for sure reheating wont make any of it to taste better. "Cant mess up egg drop" was what I said to myself but it was a salty slurry. It was questionable whether the fried rice was actually pan fried. I couldnt eat more than a spoon of both. The dumplings were soggy with no flavor. The lo mein must've been cooked by the same person sauteeing the rice. My guess is either not enough heat, not waiting for the pan to heat up, or mass cooking than smaller batches. The beef was pale as if just blanched and looked like pork or chix. General Tso's was listed as spicy with the generous three ...it was less than mild, the sauce was a sweet soy and has to be the worst version of General Tso's I've ever had. read more

I would say this was just mediocre. We were excited to have a new place so close, but it was less than stellar. Smaller portions than most other nearby places and the flavors were just not quite right. I would say the Chicken fried rice was the best thing we got and even that was greasier than expected and had a sort of burnt and/or rancid oil flavor. Maybe we went on an off night judging by the other 5 star reviews....but, I will likely stick to other tried and true places in the future. read more
