Crab Rangoon had no crab and cream cheese had added sugar. Noodles were good, nice flavor. Fried rice had no flavor. We had sweet and sour for crab Rangoon, and one tiny packet of soy. We needed more to flavor rice. We also ordered shrimp with lobster sauce. No lobster flavor. Minimal amount of shrimp which was over cooked. It's a no for me. Not only a no, but also a never again. I ordered Li's because everyone in my Township raves about how good Li's is so I wanted to try it. Nothing was good. From the all dark meat, soggy General Tso's to the minute rice tasting "fried" rice. Last time I had Chinese food this disappointing was Golden Wok in 2003. The crab Rangoon tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp and the sweet and sour chicken was also hard and 50% inedible. I don't get it. read more

I've lived in the area for a decade now and Li's is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I've eaten there many times and ordered take out many more. My go-to dish is General Tso's chicken. Li's is not going to knock your socks off, but they will meet the status quo for local Chinese food. The restaurant has limited seating in a little whole-in-the-wall area that feels like your sitting in the kitchen. The staff is friendly and accommodating for the most part (there is a language barrier sometimes). Occasionally the kitchen doesn't get the sauce/stock right, or over/under cooks something. Lobster fried rice, seafood delight, crab rangoon. The Lobster Fried Rice: I suspect they are passing off crayfish tails as lobster. No lobster that I know is that tiny (the tails were about as big as the tip of my finger). And regardless whether or not they were lobster or crayfish tails, they were WAY over cooked, like little bullets with a funky taste. I had to throw this out, it was pretty gross. The Seafood Delight: It was okay. Tasted fresh. A little bland. Again, crayfish tails.... The Crab Rangoon: Never had a bland crab rangoon but these were close, yet they did have some flavor. I was desperate for take out, needless to say i went to bed hungry. There is no flavor what so ever. I've never had fried rice that tasted like plain minute rice. I've been here several times as I live close by and they offer several tofu dishes. The food is always fresh, vegetables always cooked tender-crisp, rice is fluffy and flavorful, and the tofu is airy and delicious. Favorite items are the Garlic Szechuan Tofu and veg, veg soup and lo mein. Prices aren't bad either, especially considering the portion sizes. I also love that they use 100% vegetable oil (and sparingly--unlike other Chinese restaurants) and not lard like a lot of Chinese restaurants tend to do. I've been on a quest to find the best Chinese takeout on the southside, ordering the same thing from every place, General Tsos, Sweet and Sour Pork, with Lo Mein and Fried Rice sides for each. After finishing my search Li's was my favorite from those dishes. I ordered online and had a special request to make the General Tsos spicier than normal and to give me extra sauce for it which I like to mix my rice with. We ordered from Li's Garden to try something new and overall, not super impressed. The food is decent, but nothing really stood out as overly delicious or what you can't find elsewhere. It definitely wasn't worth what we paid for it. The Hunan Beef isn't spicy, and we expected it to be at least sort of spicy. My partner asked for it extra spicy, and there was barely any spice at all. The chicken sticks were a struggle. Mine was super flavorful, juicy, and really delicious. But my partner had two and both were really dry. The fried rice was OK, but the rice was a bit bland for my taste. The bourbon chicken is REALLY sweet. It had OK flavor, but was almost too sweet for me to really enjoy it. The egg roll was solid, good flavor, good crispiness, and solid crunch. The egg drop soup was good. Basic, tasty, and had a good broth. Overall, likely won't be ordering from here again. I'll stick with my staples. read more

They sent me two orders of sweet-and-sour chicken and no teriyaki chicken so one of my kids refused to eat because it wasn't what she ordered. The rice was bland and had no flavor. The lo mein noodles were overly greasy and had no flavor. The chicken and sweet-and-sour sauce were worse than frozen sweet and sour chicken. $30 for this food.
