Tiny but good place for a takeout craving! They have so many options and combination plates for $11 that come with an entree, side, and egg roll-all very filling. The food was not great I won't be ordering from them again their crab rayon was just cream cheese and sugar and they looked like they had been sitting forever like the cream cheese was not goopy it was kinda dried against the shell the egg roll was trash and the fried rice was just white rice with peas and onion stirred in the only good thing I got was the shrimp general tso's . I have been craving good fast Chinese for a few years now and THIS hit the spot! The veg fried rice had nice large chunks of vegetables that seemed like they were freshly cut. The General Tso's was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The crab rangoon were a lil sweet but paired with soy sauce leveled out. I have VERY mixed reviews on this location. On one hand their food is AMAZING. On the other hand when we went for pick up we saw a ROACH! I can't decide if its worth it to continue taking my business here. Good chinese food is hard to come by. When I've eaten here before we've always had our food delivered, so this was our first time going in to pick it up. So if we hadn't gone in I would have never known about this issue. I guess its tough because I'm sure this is common at a lot of food places, but its one thing to assume and another to KNOW. When telling a friend they said restraunts are allowed "a small amount of pests" because it would be impossible to have a location with ZERO pests. I do feel like having ants and having roaches are two different things. The only thing I can think about is if we saw the roach in the sitting area, what do they do when they are back there near the food. My moms response to this was "Let's just bless our food lol" Besides the roach, this wouldn't be a place I'd want to take my family to dine in, which they do have tables where you could eat in. The dining area was very outdated and the pictures of the food to order from were very faded. I would def classify this place as a "carry out only" place. Still debating on if I will continue eating here with knowing they have roaches. I do think they overheard us saying we saw one because we could smell a very strong smell of bug spray, which also concerns me since they were back where our food was being cooked. read more

The staff are all very nice and friendly when I call and my food is always either delivered quickly or ready for pick up quick which is always a plus when you're starving. The egg rolls are good as well as the lo main and shrimp fried rice. The general tso shrimp are HUGE and a little spicy but definitely good. I've never actually been inside so I'm not sure how the business looks but I drive past it very often and the location isn't ideal as I'm not sure where customers or even employees park? I don't know what yall are ordering from here or if these are real reviews from actual customers and not employees but this is absolutely hands down the WORST Chinese food I've ever eaten. Ordered off Uber eats and the service was fast but the food lacked absolutely any flavor at all. I ordered Mapo Tofu and vegetable Lo Mein and when I say neither dish had ANY flavor. Nothing. None. Nada. Méiyǒu rènhé. 没有任何. I was BEYOND disappointed. If you know anything about Mapo especially, it's supposed to be full of spices and flavor. Theirs lacked any, it was basically a red, flavorless, gelatinous sauce with peas and tofu. And the lo mein were just oily lo mein noodles with a few pieces of onion and a broccoli stem but also with no flavor until I added soy sauce to make it somewhat edible. I hate dousing my Chinese food in soy sauce, one packet will do and that's only if necessary. When I say disappointed, I mean very. The two stars are solely due to the tofu and noodles being well cooked and the service being well. Would highly not recommend. read more

The brown sauce was sweet and savory, the broccoli was perfectly cooked with a little bit of a crunch, and there was a more than fair share of chicken. Yum! The rice was also cooked perfectly. My partner ordered the beef with broccoli and he is still raving about it the next day. This was my first experience with delivery through Grub Hub. I was very impressed. Through exhaustive research, due diligence, and trial and error, I have searched for the best Chinese restaurant in Indianapolis. I have created an algorithm that calculates the "best" by adding together taste, affordability, location, portion size in relation to cost, and customer service. After going through the numbers and calculating the score of China King, I can say with little reservation that China King on 38th is my hands down favorite. Ok, that was a lie. I hate math. But I loveeeeee me some China King. I have been here numerous times and tasted several of their dishes, and I have yet to leave disappointed. Everything is ready within "10 minute," and comes in fantastic portions. My favorite thing to order is their boneless spare ribs. Let me tell you, if you were able to package Michael Jackson in his prime, compliment it with some fried rice and serve it with a fortune cookie, that is the equivalent to their boneless spare ribs. It is the Michael Jackson of Chinese Food entrees! It's like the food (through it's smell/taste) is singing "I'm Bad!" (Editors Note: Good-Bad/Not Bad-Bad) If that example wasn't strong enough for you, if Indianapolis ever enacts the "Too Sexy for Your Own Good" law, and I am convicted and sentenced to death (apparently if you're convicted it is punishable by death), my last meal would be the boneless spare ribs platter. No exaggeration, I would face death with a smile and a full stomach. Now don't get me wrong, in terms of quality, I am sure that there are "better" Chinese restaurants in Indianapolis. While I can't speak to the dine-in experience, I consider myself a "take out regular" as China King II is my go-to delivery every few weeks via the Yelp Eat24 setup. Our New Year's Eve meal was simple, consisting of orange chicken, fried rice, crab rangoons, and pork egg rolls. Our order was to our door in 45 minutes and within the window quoted. Food was piping hot and delish as usual. I can safely say that I've never had a bad experience with delivery from CKII. I regularly make substitutions on delivery items and they are always honored - I even asked for them to knock on my door and leave it at my doorstep once (I was having a moment) and they obliged no problem. The only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is simply that I've had better Chinese delivery in town when I lived downtown. I've had limited success with finding quality Chinese take out in Indianapolis. That being said, China King II did a decent job fulfilling my needs for the evening when I stopped in. I bought a large wonton soup, which was reasonably priced, assembled quickly, and was pretty tasty. I've had *terrible* wonton soup at other Indy restaurants, so they're my new number one for this dish. Given that experience, I'd be willing to go back to try their other options. With the weather finally turning bearable enough to spend more than a few minutes outside, I decided I'd walk somewhere for lunch rather than having it delivered or wasting the gas to drive somewhere. I'm a huge fan of Chinese food. So I was happy to realize that China King II is just a few blocks over from my office building. Placing my order online was quick and easy. The lunch specials are priced just right at about $6 a plate and they only take about 10 minutes until they're ready. As far as I'm concerned, this is a far better deal than getting drive thru. It's a more rounded meal for the same or less than most fast food value meals and when you factor in driving to get to anything else, I probably saved time. The restaurant itself was clean and the lady who checked me out was super nice. The parking lot is a little small. So I'm glad I was on foot. The food itself was hot and fresh. Surprising for little money and a short wait time. The general tso's sauce was delicious and the broccoli was surprisingly fresh and crisp. For lunch, the portion size was perfect. I was just full enough that I wasn't hungry and could make it through my workday without being overstuffed and miserable. Is it the best Chinese food In Indianapolis? No and I won't go out of my way to get it when I'm not at works. But it serves its purpose and the value for the price was great. So this will definitely be my go-to lunch place. If you work or live around North Meridian and 38th, give them a try. They don't look like much from the outside but we all know the saying about books and covers. read more

So, we were in search of some neighborhood Chinese food...this fits the bill. Open and spacious restaurant pumping out the to go orders! We ordered onsite and chose take out. The space is clean but in a very interesting strip mall. Parking can be difficult if you come from the Delaware side of the strip mall. Anyhoo, I was disappointed because they use yellow rice in their fried rice. And the fried rice is really heated rice with some shrimp in it. No scallions, no eggs, nothing. Just rice and shrimp. *disappointed face* I also ordered the curry shrimp...It was super heavy on the curry, which was tasty, but again low on the veggies. I'm just used to more veggies in my Chinese food. For all of the food we received it was cheaper than most places. Thanks, Yelp, for saving the world by decreasing the number of awkward phone calls, one order at a time. Our order was fast (maybe 10-15 minutes?), the staff was polite, and the food good. General Tsos, chicken with broccoli, and crab rangoon got 2 thumbs up from our crew. The egg rolls were just okay. Not much to write home about concerning the interior or the restaurant, it was plain, clean, and had pictures of the dishes on menu- your typical American Chinese restaurants. 38th street and Meridian area can be a bit sketch and there isn't a ton of parking close to the front of the restaurant. As a female, walking by herself, late at night, I felt somewhat unsafe. If any of these variables had changed I would not have noticed it as much. Sometimes the food is prepared quickly sometimes you wait 10 mins longer than what you were told. They always tell you thank you and/or have a nice day though and are very friendly. This place is a pretty standard (American) Chinese fast-food joint, standard red menu that can be found in dozens of strip centers. They get the standard stuff right, it is clean inside (worn out and old, but clean), they are open holiday's like Christmas and odd times like in near-blizzard conditions when other places are closed. There advantages to this place over others: the orders are correct, the portions are sizable. I've certainly picked this place due to the lack of decent Thai or mexican options in the area. Good "Chinese" is better than bad Thai or Mexican, IMO. read more

Okay, here's the caveat for my review. This place delivers to my house. NO ONE delivers to my house. With out that sweet little perk I would be reviewing at 3 stars. That being said, this is your standard strip mall Chinese. I have nothing against it. it's sorta comfort food to me, as growing up my mother did not cook, so carryout Chinese was a staple in our little household. The good...Grease, grease and grease. The lo mein is yummy in any meaty or meatless combo. The shrimp with lobster sauce is also tasty and the shrimp are huge and tender. I only wish they didn't supplemant the shrimp with fake crab. The crab rangoon are sweet and creamy. Also or import, they have NEVER screwed up my order. The bad...not the best location, parking is difficult and needless to say not in the swankiest of locales. Also, I ordered boneless spare ribs on our last delivery and it was literally like beef jerky, nearly unchewable. However, that was the first dish that I've ordered from them in over 2 years that I took issue with. Very inexpensive food and it's right around the corner from my apartment. I placed my order and was told it would be ready within ten minutes, so I had enough time to throw on some shoes and drive up before my food was ready. My only complaints are the parking and the General Tso's Chicken. The restaurant is located on a strip at the corner of Meridian and 38th, where parking is hard to come by. So it actually took longer to find a place to park than it did to drive there. Also the General Tso's chicken was a little bland.
