I'm a fan. So there's probably around 3-4 Chinese takeout options but for me Bamboo is my "go-to" spot. The people running the place are always very friendly and prompt with my takeout order. I also find it cleaner, which is always a big plus. As for the food, it is good sometimes great -- I usually stick to what I'm familiar with: garlic chicken with fried rice, fried dumplings, and wonton soup. The dumplings are especially great, especially with the dipping sauce. I usually ask for a side of hot chili oil and it gives everything a nice kick. read more

We ordered takeout from here. It was pretty typical Chinese take out food. We ordered the General Tso's, Sesame chicken, and some wonton soup. All were pretty decent. The inside of the restaurant is actually pretty nice and they have a seating area if you want to dine in unlike many of the other nearby Chinese places. The location is super convenient for those of us in the nearby neighborhoods so we were excited to see this place open up. Food arrived in good time. I was ready to chow down after long, full a day of spring cleaning...only to be severely disappointed by an absolutely terrible meal. My wife did some online research and everyone seemed to rave and give great reviews of Bamboo. Awesome!!! We both ordered the General Tso's chicken. Apparently someone forgot to tell the cook and I'm guessing the owner of this farce of a place, it's supposed to be a little spicy. There was absolutely no heat. Not a pepper or chili flake to be found. Tasted a lot like vinegar mixed with corn syrup and a clove of garlic. Now for the easiest part, the fried chicken bites. Heavily breaded for sure but I don't know what they're using for chicken. It has to be a substitute because every piece I ate was mushy, like the internal part of a fish stick. Some may like that, but nobody in this house finished their meal. We each ordered a full meal but we ended up sharing one because she tried hers first while I was washing up and she didn't have the stomach to finish...so I delved in...and between the two of us, didn't even finish one portion. The other portion of our food found it's way to the trash, right where this crappy food belongs. And this is coming from an Army Veteran who served 23 years and was deployed 3 times to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. I'd take the field rations and MRE's over the food this place sends out to it's customers. If I had to come up with one good thing, it was the fortune cookie...but the fortune kept pace with the poor food..."Domestic conditions demand your attention." How is that even a "fortune?!?" My husband and I ordered from here on a Friday night around 8 pm. It was relatively quick and painless but the food was a different story. The place is clean and the workers are easy to work with. The food on the other was quite disappointing. The chicken was so rubbery it was hard to chew in the chicken w. broccoli and it was so bland. First the soup is very dark and thick. It's very earthy tasting and nothing like other soup I've had like this. I ate half because I paid for it. Second the dinner it was all large chicken pieces that every one was fatty and chewy. We basically just ate the veggies even though they came over to ask if it was ok we didn't speak up because we were on a time crunch. Third the chicken on a stick was all we ate completely. This is hands down the best carryout chinese restaurant in the area. The food is always fresh and hot and they do a great job of customizing your order. The general tsos tofu is excellent with a nice breading and a perfect amount of spice in the sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy with ample sauce for dipping. The fried rice and lo mein have fresh tasting veggies and are flavorful without being overpowering. They are also doing an excellent job of keeping their customers and employees safe during the pandemic with contactless carryout! Oh, I really really wish I could rate them higher, but I just can't. I am very disappointed with my experience; especially after reading the other favorable reviews. The food was not top quality. The mushroom chicken was OK as far as the sauce tasted along with the mushrooms, but the chicken had a strange look and texture. It was rubbery in texture and it didn't have much of a taste. It just didn't seem like it was 100% chicken. It was really odd. My date had the General Tso's chicken. He said it was OK, but, they just never really make it very hot/spicy like he likes it or it should be. The sauce was on the bland side. We ordered a few appetizers too. We ordered the fried shrimp, and two spring rolls. The fried shrimp were the frozen kind that came out of a bag, and the spring rolls were OK, but they tasted like the restaurant really needed to change out the oil in their fryer. They had an odd borderline rancid smell / taste to them. The steamed rice and the fried rice were average tasting, and acceptable. I asked for a bottle of soy sauce, some sweet-and-sour sauce and some hot mustard on the side. All they could offer me were those condiments in packets. They were already on the table. I thought that was kind of low rent/low class. They charge a healthy price for their food, so I would expect them to at least offer those condiments in a fresher form to dine in customers. I can understand takeout orders to a degree, but I really feel like when you're dining in they need to give you a little bit more quality than that. When I tried the condiments in the packets, they weren't even that great tasting or high-quality. The sweet and sour was not good, and the hot mustard was congealed and really weak and funky tasting. There are far far far better places I have been to, for oriental type of food. Our favorite local Chinesse place. I have a four year old that loves their lo mein noddles and fried rice. The wife and I have dishes we both like. But for both of us the bourbon chicken is near the top. A very nice sauce, and take the leftover sauce and mix it in your rice! Yummy. Love this place and hope it is here for a long time. read more

I have to agree with Ariel, it's typical Chinese takeout. Dishes are hit or miss. But it is new and it is clean, which is more than I can say for some of the others. I hope they keep it that way. I ordered their shrimp egg roll which was very good, and I ordered the dieters shrimp and vegetables with the sauce on the side. It was very good, cooked properly and not too much of only one vegetable. My better half ordered the beef and scallops and the sweet and sour pork, I didn't care for the scallops (and normally I love scallops) but the dish itself was good. With the sweet & sour pork, I found the pieces of pork to be too small. The house fried rice was decent, I'm a greasy rice fan and this was pretty dry but it had lots of chicken, vegetables, shrimp, etc. My daughter ordered Kung Pao Chicken, a bit heavy on the peppers and again, I think the pieces of chicken were too small. We ordered steamed dumplings, seafood soup, fried chicken wings and wonton soup, all good - not great. Not enough issue to keep us from ordering again for sure. The service was great but the food was mediocre. The egg roll was hot but did have mostly cabbage but it was tasty.I ordered the sesame chicken because I like it when it is sweet and not spicy. The chicken itself was a little over cooked but the sauce had pretty good flavor. The fried rice was very bland probably some of the worst fried rice I have ever had. The best part of the meal was the egg drop soup which was spot on. I will most likely not eat at bamboo again.
