The food I ordered was orange chicken. This restaurant has a slight edge above the Chinese/Asian places I've eaten at, and they are good as well, but the food here is cooked fresh. The sushi is good, although the quality of the other food items has gone down hill. It's my understanding that restaurant was sold to a new owner and you can tell. Same menu however the taste of the food is off. I've been a longtime patron and have always enjoyed this place until recently. I have tried many of the same items I've had previously and it just isn't the same. The fried rice is horrible the hot sake is undrinkable, it taste like warm rubbing alcohol. The chili paste is some off brand crap and not the one that has been always served. I am not from the Bonham area or know anything about it. But, it was a half-way point to meet some family for lunch. I yelped around looking for something other than BBQ, and in Texas, so hard to find anything else other than BBQ or Mexican food in super small towns. I gotta tell you though, this place shocked all of us. We met there expecting for one: it to be much smaller than it was and two: for the food to be sub-par at best. Wrong on all counts! The place was huge! Well, huge for a small town downtown restaurant, but super comfortable! The food was spectacular! On all levels! Taste, presentation, amount, temperature, all A+. All 6 of us scarfed up every last morsel!!! Mom & B-I-L got the Orange Chicken and both loved it! There were about 10 pieces of chicken, more than enough to satisfy. A big heaping mound of rice too. Sis ordered the Sesame Chicken and same, a lot of chicken and rice, she was stuffed by the end. Dad got a Donut Roll sushi roll and it was super pretty and he said very tasty. Hubby got a sushi roll as well, but I can't remember which one but he said it rivals our favorite place: Blue Fish! I got the Fried Tofu Fried Rice. I have never. in. my. life. gotten tofu cooked correctly in any restaurant - except this one. It was crispy on the outside, with a little tenderness on the inside. Perfectly sized bites and everything had so much flavor, I was stupefied! :D Last, but certainly not least, our server was very, very attentive and friendly. Not to the point of being obnoxious, but she kept an eye on our drinks/food and was just a genuinely nice server. I have absolutely NO complaints about this place, and there was no icky smell either. You know what I'm talking about..... This used to be an absolutely fantastic restaurant that quickly became a Bonham favorite. Sadly with the new ownership, food quality has declined. The phô broth has changed, and the sushi isn't what it was. Most of the servers are excellent, but there is one particularly chatty one who is easily distracted from the task at hand. But the truly sad part is, the new owner has cut corners on food quality, and it shows. read more

I came here with my entire family while visiting them. First off, Bonham is such a cute little town. Don't blink or you will miss it since it's so small but very charming. The restaurant is updated and super cute inside. They offer Chinese food, pho and sushi. I got the orange chicken and it was so good! Nothing like you would find in a Panda Express with overly vinegary flavor. Half of my family ordered Chinese and half got sushi. The sushi looked amazing and super fresh. I'm not sure how they get fresh fish to the middle of Texas but they are doing it! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking dinner for a large party. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the service of this quaint little gem located in downtown Bonham. My husband and I ordered several different dishes to try. We ordered the spring rolls with peanut sauce and they were fresh and amazing! Then, sushi. We got the cowboy roll and bamboo roll and both were awesome but the cowboy roll was an experience! Definitely recommend! Got pho and combination flat noodles and both were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our server, Taylor, was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful in deciding what to order and service was awesome! Wait staff showed great teamwork. When I was told that great sushi could be had in Bonham I was more than a little skeptical but decided to give it a shot anyway. Am I glad I did. I found it not just great but some of the best I've ever had and I've had a LOT. I highly recommend the London Roll. Not only is the sushi exceptional the service is as well. Our server has been Luke the several times we've been in. He is very knowledgeable of the menu, offers great suggestions and is very attentive. My 2 cents: If you go, and I hope you do, ask for Luke and order a London Roll. You won't be disappointed. read more

I lovvvvvvvvvve this place!!! Sushi is my middle name and when I moved back to my little hometown, I knew excellent sushi would become obsolete... NO LONGER THE CASE!!! Thanks to Bamboo House, awesome sushi & other yummy dishes are a 40 minute drive away! Since I have family in that town & my colorist, I get fresh sushi a couple times a month now! After talking with the owner extensively, this family takes great pride in the quality and food selections! What a treat!!!! BTW beside the sushi, the Viet-Egg Rolls are delish and their PHO... nom nom nom!!! Can't wait till tomorrow... MMMM!!!! A LITTLE CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: It gets too cold inside the restaurant in the winter. Then again, you don't want the raw fish getting trace bacteria. There has to be a middle ground though. A couple times I've been biting cold AND I'M HOT NATURED. Lastly, I have had some sushi rolls not wrapped/closed tightly enough. It had nothing to do with them being "too full/stuffed". Moving to the area from Seattle, I was worried that I could no longer eat my favorite food: Vietnamese Pho Noodle soup. I was thrilled to find the Bamboo House in Bonham. I always get pho, spring rolls, and sometimes the veggie sushi. They have always been excellent, and the service is fabulous. I am allergic to shellfish, so they make me fried tofu spring rolls. The ONLY complaint I have is that Bonham water is awful, and sometimes the taste of it (like pesticide) is on the raw veggies in the pho and spring rolls. Last time it was so bad, I don't think we'll be going back. I suppose if you live there, you get used to the water. I am heartbroken. read more
