Bamboo House never fails to deliver delicious food! My daughter and I come here often, sometimes for pickup and sometimes we eat in for lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant is cozy. Their kabuki is every bit as good as the more expensive show hibachi down the street. I highly recommend you order your Chinese food from here!

I ordered takeout and it was so yummy! I got General Tso Tofu and upgraded to lo mein noodles. It wasn't too oily, nor too spicy, great flavor and great portions!

    Your table awaits your arrival.

Did you know that bamboo is a grass? Sure enough, it's in the grass family. So why did I start my review with this fact? Well, it's because I don't want you to let grass grow under your feet while deciding whether or not to try this restaurant! Do it!! Alex J approves. When my daughter, grandson and I visited on an early Saturday evening, it wasn't that busy......yet. There was a stream of Grub hubbers filtering in for pick up, but we, and another table, were the only ones seated for dinner. Hmmmm we thought, does this bode well for our dining experience? Spoiler alert....YES! Our thoughts needed not to be on the popularity of the B H, but were better occupied by more important things, like wondering if Springhills infrastructure is going to catch up with the unbridled home construction. Yes, Springhill is home base for my loved ones. Our orders were promptly taken, and it wasn't but a few minutes before the dishes were placed in front of our salivating selves. All of us patrons loved our meals. I had the beef noodles, my grandson the Mongolian Beef, and daughter the General Tso's chicken. Done and done. It was awfully quiet during the shoveling action. Ohhhh... was it ever a good meal. Fresh and hot. Everything was perfectly worthy of honor in the highest realm of whichever dynasty you prefer. Uhhhh, not so fast Alex J. If it was so good, then why wasn't this a five star review? Well my dear readers, it's like this. After a wonderful Chinese meal, one would expect that it would be topped off with a crisp fortune cookie with wise prophetic insights. It didn't happen in this case. Oh, the fortune was right on. Mine indicated that I am proveyor of great gastronomic knowledge. No, I didn't have issue with that tidbit of information, correct as it is, my displeasure emanated from the cookie itself. It was stale as a limp handshake. Not a good way to end a fantastic meal. Who knows, maybe they're trying to make due until the tariffs on China are settled. In the meantime, their fortunes may better be served voiced by a smiling face, rather than a rubber biscuit. Don't let the end keep you from the beginning. Alex J, you sound like Confucius! Quick Tip: If you want to have some fun, use the Lens app on your phone to translate the Chinese characters on the menu. It's pretty cool.

Hot and sour soup was about average for Chinese American take out. The chunks, mostly tofu but also a little chicken, were cut pretty big. I always include sesame chicken in an initial order. It's the wife's favorite, and if it's not a good version, the restaurant is not going on repeat. I give them credit, overly sweet and sticky, which is what you'd expect in sesame chicken. Big chunks of nicely cooked, tender, thigh. A few al dente large pieces of broccoli. Next order, I'd also include a vegy dish to better balance the chicken and veg. Also tried the Szechuan triple delight. The dish is described as spicy, and I requested extra spicy, but it still had just a light touch of heat. It was a nice mix of protein and veg. A bit too heavy on the onion. There were just a couple shrimp but they were big tasty and tender. Lots of thin velveted slices of protein - honestly I couldn't tell for sure if it was chicken beef or pork, but it was very tender and pleasant, so I'll just stick with "happy mystery meat". Will definitely be giving Asian Taste a return visit.

Busy...busy...busy. Yes, many of us find ourselves buzzing around (especially this time of year -…read moreright before Thanksgiving) like bees and other creatures hustling to prepare for the cold months ahead. And, somewhat surprisingly...the same was true for Great Wall of China early afternoon on a weekday. There was a virtual constant flow of patrons coming and going, picking up call-in orders, and stopping for a mid-afternoon lunch. (1:30 - 2:30pm) Regardless of the "buzz," we were politely greeted by Lynn (Lin ?) and seated immediately. Drink orders were taken (fountain drinks or bottled available), menus presented. Drinks delivered and orders taken within 5 - 10 minutes....and a small dish of complementary candied peanuts placed on table. They were delightful. Our orders came out within another 10 minutes or so....even while customers continued to come and go. And 3 different people came out to check if everything was in order..."all good?" - "yes." First for me was a hot, super crispy, veggie egg roll. Multi layers of rice paper wrappers contained a rather bland stuffing. A dollop of "Momofuku-style/Lao Gan Ma" chili crunch with its savory, salty, spicy, umami nature helped. (Of course the traditional hot mustard or duck sauce could have been chosen instead...but none was offered.) Second - my go-to lunch dish, Hunan Chicken. Uber-tender small bites of white breast chicken sauted and bathed in an earthy sauce, along with carrots, mushrooms, onions, and zucchini. Good - yes. Great....not quite. The depth of flavor wasn't here. But the subtle and persistent heat was spot on. Chicken and broccoli for my luncheon guest...was also shy of our top marks. And this dish (attested by both of us) was way over-salty. Too much soy or...? We'll ask next time. Regardless, we will be back because the selection and affordability of pretty darn good Chinese food is what we continue to seek on our Yelping quest across all cuisines of the world....especially close to home.

The atmosphere immediately caught our attention--creative, intimate, colorful, and just a really cool vibe. Then the food came out and somehow managed to match the setting. We tried the beef tacos, soy garlic wings, glass noodles, and steak, and everything was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The steak was cooked perfectly, the wings were crispy and loaded with flavor, and those beef tacos definitely deserve another visit of their own. ‍ What really completed the experience was the service. Gene was awesome--friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout dinner. Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices for the quality. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was their small plate concept, and I absolutely loved it. I enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to just one entrée, and this concept is something I wish more restaurants would adopt. We ended up trying almost half the menu and loved nearly every dish. A huge shout-out to our server, Nestor. He welcomed us warmly, was cheerful throughout the evening, and his recommendations were spot on. He truly made the dinner even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of mocktails, and the Purple Haze was refreshing and delicious. Here are some of our favorites: MI Cucumber - Smashed cucumber with soy dressing, crunchy chili oil, and cilantro. Simple, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Plantain - Fried plantains topped with sriracha goat cheese, cilantro, and crunchy gremolata. The sriracha goat cheese paired perfectly with the sweet plantains. K-Pop Chicken - Korean sweet and spicy popcorn chicken with great flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Dumplings - Homemade steamed dumplings with edamame, truffle, yuzu ponzu, and garlic confit. I really enjoyed the truffle flavor, though it may not be for everyone. Kimchi Bacon Risotto - Caramelized kimchi, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and shrimp. One of the best dishes of the night--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. Crispy Spicy Tuna - Spicy mayo tuna served over crispy rice. This was one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice was absolutely perfect. Cauliflower Taco - Crispy cauliflower with guacamole, creamy miso, and tsiran spice. The filling was flavorful, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Lamb Chops - This was the only dish that felt average. The lamb was cooked well, but it was missing a bit of flavor. A little more seasoning, especially some salt, would have really elevated the dish. To finish the meal, we had the Banana Pudding with Vanilla Gelato, which was a delicious and satisfying way to end dinner. Overall, MI Kitchen completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, a fun small-plate concept, and outstanding service from Nestor made this a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!

I love all styles of Chinese food--from Americanized classics to more traditional dishes--so I was excited to try a range of items. I ordered several dishes to get a good feel for the menu, including sautéed mixed vegetables, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, wonton soup, and sesame chicken. The sautéed mixed vegetables unfortunately missed the mark for me. The sauce was extremely strong and completely overpowered the dish, making it difficult to enjoy. My roommate ended up finishing it and agreed--the sauce was just too intense. The egg rolls were also a bit underwhelming. The wrapper wasn't as crispy as I would've liked, and the filling leaned heavily toward meat without much vegetable balance, which made the flavor feel a bit one-dimensional. The steamed dumplings were better and one of the stronger items we tried, though I think a more flavorful or complementary dipping sauce--and a bit more variety in the filling--would take them to the next level. The wonton soup had a really nice, well-balanced broth, and the wontons themselves were cooked perfectly. That said, the soup felt a little lacking in substance. Adding vegetables like cabbage, carrots, or peas could really round it out and make it more satisfying. The standout of the meal was the sesame chicken. It was well-prepared, flavorful, and came with a good portion of broccoli--though I wouldn't have minded even more. Overall, No.1 Chinese falls somewhere in the middle. It's a decent option if you're looking for quick takeout, but if you're searching for something more memorable or elevated, you may want to keep exploring.
