Made a carry out order here. Pickup went great, very clean restaurant area with a few tables. Kind of sterile looking compared to other Americanized Chinese take out places (no faded backlit menus like my childhood lol). The food was hot and ready when I picked it up. Here's where the stars went down. I ordered Chicken on a stick:best part of the whole meal. It was hot and juicy. The fried dumplings were almost deep fried, like very crispy exterior. The filling was kind of bland, and the dipping sauce was very vinegar heavy, which is good but it was missing some soy sauce or some other components of dumpling sauces that I have had in the past Finally, the Crab Rangoon was the most disappointing AND it was the whole reason I wanted this for dinner tonight. There was NO FILLING in 5/5 of these. I found a hint of filling in one but nothing really overall. I'm not asking for stuffed goons with 90% crab, just some filling overall. The rangoon dipping sauce was darker and thicker than traditional sweet and sour sauce that they usually give. I don't think I'll go back but you be the judge yourself. We love a great night of Chinese foods... We ordered a shrimp and broccoli, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, one other meal, and crab Rangoon. $50 Our kids like the sweet and sour chicken just like the other places we have ordered it from. The shrimp fried rice was missing some shrimp... they had a couple large shrimp and I would have preferred many smaller shrimp instead so to have some in every couple bites. The crab Rangoon was different that we are used to, but we loved all the filling within these here! The shrimp and broccoli and delicious, lots of big chunks and good flavor. We also enjoyed our egg rolls - very good not too oily. We ordered take out, but facility seemed nice and clean. Service was a little lacking, we'd ordered online and they weren't sure where our order was. They offer inside dining where I believe you get more food as it is served on actual serving plates bowls etc. Not your To go container. I tried the bourbon chicken yesterday. It tastes terrible. The meat is diced yet it tastes dry and rough, it's so wrong. The sauce doesn't have much flavor, and it has an odd after taste. I did a lunch pickup and tried to call to get it replaced but communication wasn't very great. I can appreciate hearing the associate use a translation app. I just wish I could've had fresh food. Ordered this last night- both ordered shrimp meals for Lent. I got the Kung Po shrimp- it is supposed to be spicy - but I could've used more. I thought the entree was good- shrimp were good and not rubbery. I didn't like the fried rice- it wasn't very flavorful. Hubs got the hunan shrimp- also not very spice, but again cooked well, veggies were fresh! Spring rolls passed the test! Not too greasy and had a great crunch. Crab Rangoon was a miss for us. The food was extremely affordable here! For two entrees, a pint of soup, two egg rolls, and an order of dumplings the total was $40. Sometimes chinese places can get a little pricey after you add all the extras! The portion size was also very large so expect to have leftovers. First impression was very good. The restaurant was very clean looking, bright and smelled good. The girl behind the counter was friendly. She took my order and I sat to wait. Then second impression... yelling and screaming from the front to the kitchen. Then she went into the kitchen yelling. Then while still yelling she came back out of the kitchen. My order did not take long. Crab Rangoons and Beef and Broccoli. This came with pork fried rice and an eggroll. The Beef Broccoli was very good. Lots of beef and a nice thick oyster sauce. The rangoons although seemingly void of crab, had good flavor and were nicely fried. The pork fried rice was ok. I think I prefer chicken. The food was great, 5 star for sure but...if you order out you get different food than if you ordered in. It's very strange. I got chicken friend rice and ate there the first day, so wanted it again (takeout the next). See the pictures. Takeout you don't get anything than very few chicken and some white onion nothing else. I love the service here. They are always friendly and accommodating. The dish that has won me over is the lemon chicken. Lemon chicken is a favorite of mine and it's very hard to find any place that does it well. Normally I get sweet and sour chicken nuggets with a lemon sauce. This place however had lightly breaded chicken breasts and vegetables in the container. They also garnished it with lemon slices and the lemon sauce was so tasty. This is now my go to for Chinese food. Another non relevant perk is that it's next to Kroger so I can go in and order and then go pick up random items I need while I wait. Standard quick Chinese food here at decent prices. We dined in so they did seat us and provided a lunch menu and service. We had to ask for their standard menu-the kind with 500 things on it. Drinks come in a can which is fine but id rather have a fountain drink. Food is what you'd expect from this kind of place. Nothing spectacular but it's quick and familiar. There is a decent amount of seats to choose even though it's a pretty small place. Crab rangoons are maybe their weak link, but they're still good, so I'm not giving any negative marks. I've now had the pork lo mein, sesame chicken, kung po chicken and curry chicken. Ordered take-out last night. I got the typicals... Beef and broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, and Vegetable Fried Rice. The beef and broccoli was very good, and the broccoli was cooked perfect. Not overdone or mushy. The chicken was a little different than I had thought. Mostly chicken, and a few pieces of broccoli, but the flavor was good. It was also cooked well. Fried, but not overdone or mush. The veggie fried rice, was fresh, not greasy at all. I really enjoyed everything we got. Yelp didn't show a copy of the menu, so I ordered things I bought they would have. I grabbed a menu off the counter when I came in to get the order. I'll be sure to get something new next time. Oh Yelp...you led me astray! It happens so rarely I don't really know how to handle my disappointment in Dragon House - it is about as far away from deserving the 5 stars it had as I can imagine. It was Sunday night and I had a craving for Chinese take-out...being new in the area I went to Yelp seeking guidance. I ordered my usual, crab rangoon and beef w/broccoli and an egg roll. The crab rangoon was terrible. The filling to wonton ratio was totally off, but in a surprise twist there was actually waaaaay too much filling. That never happens! And it would have been a nice change of pace if the filling had been good. It wasn't...not a lump of even imitation crab to be found, just a weird pinkish color paste. And the wrapper was super thin, barely fried and not the right color in my opinion. Bleh! The beef with broccoli was bad too. The sauce tasted off...like someone tried to make hoisin but couldn't quite figure it out. And I was further saddened when, having paid for the fried rice upgrade, said rice was devoid of vegetables and only it's oily texture suggested any frying took place. The egg roll was OK, and that nothing was really wrong with it is all I can say. Overall, this place was fast, cheap and edible (barely). But I will never eat here again...ever. read more

I went to eat Chinese food yesterday because it was 5 minutes away from where I live. The place is small with light decorated seats and table. It was also very clean and warm. I think their Ac must have died. The lady at the entrance was very sweet when she greeted us. She gave us our menus and gave us a good amount of time to look over, what we wanteed to get. I work on the Northwest side of Indianapolis and have been looking for a small Chinese restaurant to visit for lunch when the craving hit. I had lunch at Dragon House today. I arrived around noon and there was only 1 other table occupied with 2 patrons. The restaurant is small and uncluttered with a number of tables for individuals or small groups. The lady at the cash register seated me immediately and got me a soft drink. The water and tea get refills, the soft drinks come in a can. The lunch menu is not extensive but it contains many dishes routinely found on American Chinese restaurant menus. I ordered the Mongolian beef with fried rice and hot & sour soup. The soup had a very balanced flavor and good texture, but it wasn't hot and just somewhat sour. As I was finishing the soup, the entrée was being delivered to the table (10 minutes tops). The dish was visually appealing. The fried rice was a little dry but I like that much better than it being oily. The beef itself was well cooked and tender. The green onions were fresh with a little crisp left after the cooking. The sauce just wasn't what I was looking for. The sauce was a sweeter, probably hoisin based, sauce instead of the more traditional deeper soy garlic sesame based sauce. Overall, service was good. Speed of food delivery was very good. They seem to use good ingredients. It is just that the flavor for the dish I had was flat. The same thing that you tend to get at many small Americanized Chinese restaurants. Also, there is construction being done in the adjacent store and the noise is very distracting. Not the fault of Dragon House but it certainly does not help the dine-in experience. read more
