I've been coming here for several years and every time The Bamboo House never disappoints. The food is amazing, Very friendly service. I have a pretty long drive to where I'm going and when I get there, the food is relatively still hot and delicious FIVE STARS EVERY-TIME. I highly recommend my favorite place

Food is yummy and they give you large portions. Pick up is fast- usually 15 minutes when calling ahead. Restaurant is small- they do have a few chairs but location is mostly pick up orders.

HEADLINE Exactly what I expect my Chinese food to look and taste like. And it's a good thing! THE UGLY - Nada IMPORTANT NOTE: They are genius and cut holes in the corners of the takeout to assure that the crispy chickens don't get soggy. Very smart.

Bamboo house is my go to when I want to pig out on Chinese food! They have the best food! Our favorites is the honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, and the salt and pepper calamari. The portions are huge so you can save some for the next day! There service is always fast! They deliver very quickly and at a great price! If you want great Chinese food order from here!

After living in the area for 5+ years I finally decided to try this place. I got there just after 11am, first customer. I was promptly greeted and seated. I decided on the Combo Mongolian Beef & Chicken Chow Mein. Started off with a free cup of hot & sour soup, temperature and and very tasty, just enough spice of heat. From where I was sitting I could see the cook. Every thing I order was made to order. Chicken Chow Mein hot right out of the wok, as with the Mongolian Beef. Was also given (1) veggie egg roll, also hot. I would definitely be back. I should have visited sooner.

I've been to this restaurant twice in six weeks. The food is cooked to order and you get it piping hot. The portions are generous which is wonderful. What I like best is the walnut shrimp. The shrimps are big and cooked perfectly. I'll come back here for that. The calamari and salt and pepper pork are okay though nothing extraordinary. The other things I tried and don't care for are the chicken in foil and chicken with cashew combo meal. If you know which ones are delish, this is a pretty good restaurant with very reasonable prices. The frontliner guy is very gracious and polite.

My favorite food is HWS (Honey Walnut Shrimp). I solely judge a Chinese Restaurant on how good their Honey Walnut Shrimp is. This place hands down has the best quality and price in my opinion. The shrimp are large and just lightly tempura battered and the sauce is on point. This is also the only Chinese place I know of that offers the HWS with their lunch combos. read more

We ordered pork fried rice, broccoli beef and egg rolls. There was enough food for 4 people! Prices are good! Fried rice needed a bit more flavor and vegetables in it. Seemed to be missing something. Broccoli beef was good. Egg rolls had only cabbage in them - little disappointing. We ordered to go. It was hot and ready! read more

Food is always a hit or miss for the most part I can rate that 8/10. There is a man a lady working there most of the time the man is most of the time at cash register very nice. On the other hand the lady was the worst! Came in to pick up and order and she was very rude talking to me like with no good customer service and tired to tell me to leave before giving me my whole order saying "bye that's it" and I had to read back my order even though she had the receipt in her hand! She ruined my time here , hasn't been the same since they closed down china station and put this place here! read more

Affordable, huge quantity, great service, okay taste of food. I haven't had Chinese food for a while so I decided to find a promising one for dinner. Bamboo house happened to be nearby with great ratings. Upon walking in, I was quickly seated with a menu. I ordered the garlic fried wings appetizer and wor wonton soup. The soup was in a biiig bowl that I think it was supposed to serve a family. It had a variety of meat including shrimp. The taste was alright. The fried wings had 10 wings... I was regretting for ordering so much..because usually at any other restaurant you order appetizer and a main dish you get semi full. In addition, the waitress was sooo nice. Not Americanized Chinese food. I would call it rustic Chinese. Had the Mongolian chicken and it was what I would expect a Mongolian cook would make. NIce family run place with huge quantities at a great price. I had the hot and sour soup and it had a very earthy taste to it with spot on spice. All for $8 for dinner. I will be back even though I came in from Seattle. read more

Ordered take-out while visiting my family and staying in Salida. Food was delivered super fast and was very tasty. Ordered a good selection of fried rice, salt & pepper pork chop, sweet & sour chicken, garlic chicken and chow mein. Food was still piping hot. I was in the mood for Chinese food during lunch, and of course, looked on Yelp. This place popped up with good ratings, so I decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did! The food was very fresh, did not feel greasy at all, and the flavor was excellent. This place is also close to my job, so I do plan on going back soon for lunch again sometime! I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken, pork fried rice, and an appetizer of potstickers. Give this place a try. The Chinese food is excellent, and I highly recommend it! read more

My wife and I called to order for delivery, and they were super sweet, never on hold like most places when you call. We ordered 5 different items which totaled less than $40 and they delivered within 20 minutes. The lady who delivered was very out going, kind and sparked a conversation about how nice the area was to her. When we opened the huge containers (we thought would be the average Chinese food containers) they were steaming and fresh! Long story short... they're amazing, great service, great food (we been eating it for 2 days) and can't wait to order again. All around best place so far. Have to mention that we got the sweet and sour chicken as well as the general tso chicken and it wasn't soggy or full of sauce but it was just enough sauce and perfectly crispy! read more

From south valley and came to the area for a soccer tournament near by. Amazing how much better then the food in our area. Family got: Orange chicken that stayed crispy for over 40 minutes while we ate. Pot stickers crispy and homemade Chow mein was okay nothing out of this world. Fryers work well here not greese Lady was nice and gave kids leftover Halloween candy. read more

Tried this place for the first and really enjoyed it. Food was perfect. Cream cheese Rangoon's were delicious and also the pot stickers. Staff was friendly and catered to your needs. Prices were good. Will be coming here for my Chinese food from now on. read more

The chicken had so much gristle and the flavor was really lacking. I think the sweet and sour sauce was watered. The orange chicken was brown. The eggs in the chew mein and fried rice were burnt. We threw away $60 in food because it was inedible. So disappointed we drove because of the good reviews and it wasn't worth it. read more

We stop here every time we are in the area for the salt and pepper calamari! It is so good that we have to order a party tray, a single order will not suffice. If my husband knows that I came to see my family in Modesto and didn't bring him back some calamari, he would be highly offended. read more

I'd give 4.5 stars if could. Lots of food for the price; my wife and I made two meals out of the two entrees we ordered. The garlic chicken and broccoli beef were both good, and we liked the chow mein. They were also nice when I came to pick up my order. We'll definitely be back! read more

I'm so surprised that this place wasn't busier because it was amazing. 5 stars because it was even more than what I was expecting, quick delicious Chinese food. We sat down and ate there, it was quick, food was fresh and the service was easy going. I got sweet and sour chicken combo and hubs got honey walnut shrimp combo. Both delicious. Nice hole-in-the-wall place near our hotel where we're staying. The service was very good. The portions were good size. The pricing I feel was very fair for the meal. We both had the orange chicken and it was very good. Next time I'm in town I will probably eat here again read more

Based on solid reviews, we decided to give Bamboo House a try for the first time. The place is small and somewhat Spartan in decor. "Cops" was playing on the wall mounted TV and watching bad guys get hauled to jail didn't add to our dining experience. It was 100 degrees outside and about 85 inside, which was uncomfortably warm. Service throughout our meal was excellent. We mentioned to the waiter it was our first time at the restaurant and we were given a complimentary pot sticker appetizer. How cool is that? These nicely cooked dumplings were crispy and served with an excellent dipping sauce. Unfortunately, they were originally purchased frozen and not made in-house. You'll have to look elsewhere if you want homemade pot stickers. Our meal began in earnest with Wor Wonton soup, followed by garlic chicken, and Mongolian chicken. All tasted fresh and were well prepared. There were no over-the-top-good, "wow" type of flavors but these dishes were all solid. However the last dish, honey walnut shrimp, was truly OUTSTANDING with lots of fresh, juicy shrimp, a crispy coating and a smooth, sweet glaze--magnificent. Big servings allowed us to bring tons of food home for the grown kids to eat as they passed the fridge on their own schedules. Definitely 5-star capable with minor adjustments. read more

The best Chinese food from Manteca to Ceres for sure! The prices are low and for a take out things are fresh. The chow main isnt soggy or greasy. They have bits of garlic that make it stand out. Salt and pepper wing are my favorite! My husband love the garlic chicken and my favorite is the honey walnut shrimp! The workers have ALWAYS been so kind and helpful! It is a small place but it's a must stop if your in the mood for Chinese. read more

We saw on yelp on a Sunday night after a long day at Disney and everything else was closing or about to close so we ordered to go. Great choice! Food was ready when we arrived 15 min later. It was packaged perfect & nice complete with sauces & fortune cookies. We ordered chicken fried rice, spring rolls, Kung Pao Chicken & Sesame Chicken. They also included white rice which was very nice. There were 4 of us & the meals were delicious & not greasy! Perfect amount of food with a little left over. My friends highly recommended this Chinese restaurant to me recently so I decided to try it out for lunch this week. My expectations were quite high as I assumed it was going to be out of this world, and knock my socks off. Needless to say, that was not the case. I was disappointed in the meat quality and taste of the dishes I ordered. I went for lunch so I tried two different combination plates along with a chicken chow mein entree and a side of steamed white rice. The combo plates were a great price and I liked the option of choosing between soup of the day and a soda. I chose both! The soda machine was broken so I opted for a cold canned beverage instead. The chicken was grey and in the weirdest pieces; it didn't really even look like meat at all. Therefore, I did not consume it at all. The garlic chicken was delicious! As was the soup. And the service was absolutely excellent. However, I don't think I will ever return here; I didn't enjoy the food quality at all. read more

I'm pretty damn picky when it comes to my Chinese food and this place was AMAZING. Their Garlic Chicken was perfect and I really liked their fried rice (and I don't like fried rice. If I need to pay a $5 delivery fee to get it door dashed to my house I will happily do so. Their food is absolute perfection. read more

I really liked the chow mein and the fried rice was very good as well. I was here at lunch time on a Tuesday and it wasn't crowded, it was quick to order and the food was out promptly. The ambiance is Chinese motif, nice and clean. Try the Mongolian Beef, it's great.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

Ordered to-go and they said 20 mins but it was more like almost 30-40 min. Truly worth the wait though. Will definitely be coming back to this spot! Also, got a peek in the kitchen and the cooks looked authentic and Thai? That's why it's so yummy! lol.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.

The other Yelp users were correct. I've never had a soy egg before with my Ramen and it was really good. I loved my dinner and the Hubs loved his. He got the pepper beef and it was very good. The service was really good. They are very nice and friendly. The restroom was clean. We ended up at a big table and they asked if they could seat someone at the other end. We ended up talking to a man who was awesome. We're looking forward to our next dinner there when we return to Manteca.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered the arrachera plate, guacamole shrimp tostada, 3 asada tacos, and a quesabirria. The arrachera was severely overcooked, tough, flavorless, and consisted mostly of fat. It was completely inedible. The shrimp on the tostada also lacked any flavor. In the end, the only items we were able to eat were three plain asada tacos and one quesabirria, yet our bill still came to nearly $90. What made the situation even more frustrating was how it was handled. As soon as we received the arrachera plate, we notified our server that it was inedible. She said she would let the kitchen know, but never returned to follow up. In fact, her entire demeanor changed after that interaction. Throughout the rest of our meal, service was poor and we had to repeatedly flag someone down just to get our tiny glasses of water refilled. After about 45 minutes, a different server finally brought our check. When she read the total, I explained that we had already informed the other server about the issue with the arrachera. She went to speak with the kitchen and returned to tell us there was nothing they could do and that we would still have to pay for the two untouched plates. We were never offered a replacement, an alternative dish, or any attempt to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but good customer service is about how those mistakes are handled. Being charged full price for food that was untouched because it was inedible, while receiving poor service throughout the meal, left a very bad impression. We will not be returning.

I'm always surprised to see pretty high ratings on restaurants because it peaks my interest and when I'm in the area, I'll check it out. This place appears clean and the service is quick. I realize I'm ordering an $8.00 plate of food and I'd be happy if it was clean and the food was good. It tasted good at first but that was undoubtedly the greasiest plate of food I've ever eaten.
