We had our wedding reception at the Bamboo Room on May 3rd 2024 and it was absolute perfection! We were looking for an untraditional reception where guests had dinner and drinks, but could mingle in a more relaxed atmosphere without the formal table/chair/assigned seating arrangement. The Bamboo Room was the perfect venue due to it's beautiful decor and all the various cozy inside and outside seating options. It really has a "cool" factor that is unique within the Thousand Oaks area. Ok, I am just going to start off with everyone RAVED about the food! If you book this place for anything, book it for the food-factor! Apparently, the chef at the restaurant they contract with is a Michelin star chef and it shows!!! It's really difficult to cater a buffet-style dinner for a crowd of 75 and have everything come out perfectly. We had incredible scallops that were served on a beautiful shell, insane meatballs, juicy wood-fired chicken on skewers that had a wonderful smokey flavor, the most amazing salmon ever, penne pasta with a tomato basil sauce and individual cups of tiramisu that was to die for. Other areas they crushed: - We had a personal neon sign (a cute inside joke with our friends and family) that we wanted to replace their usual "Bamboo Room" one and it was no problem! - The bartenders were fantastic. The drinks were quickly made and superb. One of the bartenders (I can't remember her name) came to find me on a couple of occasions to get my permission on some "pricey" orders that guests had - which I apprecitated. We even had a bottle of Vueve sent to the venue by a friend of ours in the middle of the reception and the bartender again came and found me and asked me if I wanted to serve it or save it. (We decided to save it for another time). 5 stars for her, and the rest of the bartenders! 3.) The music: We found out that they had started doing live jazz on Friday nights instead of their usual DJ at 10PM. We asked if we could have the DJ that night because we wanted to roll right into the after-party there and it was no problem! They also were able to play our entrance song when we wanted to come in and our Spotify playlist on their system throughout the reception. All in all 10 out of 10!!!! We went for Bamboo Room Fridays, which is their new event on Friday nights. Upscale, classy club vibe. Not full of drunk teenagers. Genuinely felt safe here too as a young woman- not like the clubs in LA! Affordable drinks and the bartenders know a wide variety. $15 for their drink specials. Our corporate celebrated a recent milestone at the Bamboo Room located at Westlake Village. It was a private event with open bar and hors d'oeuvres and/or appetizers for approximately 100 guests. It was a bit difficult to find the place is located in a shopping center. No address number or a sign of this place. There was a small neon sign at a street level. It was not lit that night. The place is nice, spacious with two (2) patios and fire pits. Plenty of places to seat inside or outside. The appetizers were, mini fried wonton in a shape of a taco filled with sushi spicy tuna, chicken or ribs mini hamburger sliders, petite fries serve in mini mug and mozzarella with fresh basil in a mini toasted bread slide. There were plenty of appetizers, but the selection was not the best in my opinion. I ordered an Appletini, it was a bit disappointed when the mixologist did not have Sour Apple Pucker Liquor nor could prepare the martini. Instead, ordered a Mojito, it was another disappointment the mint sprigs were not muddled with a muddler or long enough for the fresh herbs to release their flavors. The other ingredients the sugar and the lime juice were not enough to be tasted on the drink. The rum selection White Bacardi it was too watery with the club soda. The mixologists were friendly and courteous. The food servers at times were too fast to remove the serving plates. It appeared if they were in a rushed to collected from your table, did not allow time to enjoy the appetizers. I will have to think twice to consider to came back to this bar. read more

Watch out for this company. We had an event scheduled for February and they cancelled it "effective immediately" today. I requested refund of the roughly $4800 deposit and the Chef/Owner Anthony went radio silent. Here is where it gets interesting...A friend called them to check out of morbid curiosity what was going on, and the person who answered the phone said they were wide open for February. They said the kitchen was closed, but that they were happy to host an event. Beware, if you choose to book this place they are clearly not a reputable business. read more

administration deleted my previous post so I'm going to post it again... It is unfortunate to learn about the closure of this venue. It was once our preferred spot for dancing, especially since we were not fond of that other place (Bogies). We frequented it when it first opened, but Bamboo's atmosphere deteriorated as it attempted to emulate a Hollywood vibe, leading to long lines, unwelcoming security, and poor management and service, which ultimately drove us away. However, last year, we encountered a kind gentleman named (Josh) at the promenade who encouraged us to revisit Bamboo. We returned and had a great time, enjoying the older crowd. Yet, it seems the main owners were not fond of him, despite being a favorite among customers, which is quite puzzling...Who knows (maybe because he's black) perhaps it's a Westlake thing? Came here with some friends and I gotta say... it's alright. Highlights here are definitely the music and vibes. You definitely feel more at a nightclub and for a region lacking in it, it's nice to have this option. Plus music playing is 90s/early 00s, definitely a good mix for the crowd. Staff was pretty friendly too. Negatives, drinks. Over 32$ for a vodka soda and a beer, where the cocktail was basically just pure water. Also, entering you felt more like you were at LAX where the guys are patted down before even entering the premises. I needed to plan a pre-wedding event and the bar at the 4 seasons wanted to charge me $2,000 to stay open for an additional hour. Lucky for me, the four seasons bartender gave me this hot tip: Go to the bamboo room. I spoke with Josh and he set up a great event. No pressure. No nickel and diming. No intrusive one sided contract. He took my budget, opened the place up for us, staffed it, supplied a DJ and plenty of drinks. We had over 50 people show up. Everyone was having such a great time that we stayed late and went over budget, GLADLY. I consider that a bargain. It was the only wedding event where I felt someone wasn't trying to gouge me for money. I got everything I paid for without taking a massive one-sided risk. I can't wait to plan anther event there. We live in LA and it is some distance away, but I think it's worth it. LA does not have such an accommodating venue anywhere. By the way, Love all the parking Security was reasonable, not intrusive at all. I thought it was really easy to find. Tonight was my first time at bamboo room. I was brought there by some friends who only had good things to say. I was vibing, having fun and dancing. I put my empty drink down on a table that was reserved by other people. A faux pas, I admit. But I was dancing and having fun and no one whom the table belonged to was even at table. One of the security guards, whoever was working right next to the table, aggressively grabbed me by my arm to spin me around and tell me I could not do that. What he was saying is valid - fine. I shouldn't have put my drink down on someone else's table. However, he used an aggressive amount of physical force and literally overbore me physically to show me my mistake, which is not ok. I feel violated. There is a manner the security guard could have gone about telling me not to do that that was not so forceful or physical. When I approached him to tell him i do not appreciate the way he grabbed me, his response was, "okay, bye! Bye! Bye!" Again, I appreciate him having to do his job and I totally understand that it was not my table to put my empty drink down on. But it was my first time there, I do not know the rules and the staff could have gone about the situation entirely differently and without physically forcing themselves upon someone. I am a middle school teacher. I literally teach responsibility and kindness and cleaning up after oneself for a living. The security guard tonight has no patience and no place being in an environment where people are drinking and trying to have fun. I will never go back to this establishment after being physically violated by the staff. It's never okay to put your hands on someone the way this security guard did me tonight. read more

Bamboo room is the only spot I like to venture to whenever I'm in the mood to go out in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village area. They are open until 2am!! They have some of the best DJs I've heard in a long time as well. I also love the aesthetic of this place. Very classy and inviting. There's many different spots to hangout whether it's by the fire pits outside, inside on the booths, or on the couches near the DJ/dancing area. If you're looking for a spot to listen to great music, enjoy a good drink, without the drive to LA this is definitely the go to spot. I've lived in Westlake for 22 years and always would say how disappointing it was that there was no place for people in their 20s to have a fun night out without trekking to LA or having to drive out a bit. I spent a few years in NYC and appreciate easy access to clubs, which is something I never had here. Imagine my surprise when I ran across Bamboo Room while dining at their sister restaurant, 101 North, next door! My significant other and I had a great time and we'll be coming back with friends soon. Overall, this is a fantastic, timely, and needed addition to the area. Great ambience & decor. This is a fantastic place in westlake, the atmosphere is amazing with a main room and ample outdoor space. Lovely fire pits outside are an amazing touch that bring the whole space together. The bartenders are extremely friendly and super helpful. The food service consists of chicken sliders, pizza etc. On occasion the have a guy set up and make tacos outside. I've seen someone else end the night off early. They are very strict on how much they feel you've had. I wasn't disturbing anybody or causing problems. The drinks were strong and delicious but after a few rounds one bartender kept making my drinks and after charging me, he would intentionally put the tip to the highest amount which I believe was 22%. There's three options available, which is fine, and maybe he thought he could take advantage because I was admittedly inebriated, but I still took notice right at the first. We got one $20 drink here and then management got agro with us for talking to our boyfriends who were outside trying to get in (they charge guys a cover but not girls). If the manager had approached us and kindly asked us, no biggie, but she came at us flanked by two bodyguards like she was a mob boss ready to kick us out for doing nothing. Definitely a lack of customer service, not very fun and after the manager was so rude about us doing nothing wrong, we won't be going back. So refreshing to have a fun place, for young people, to go in the burbs! Definitely a nightclub type of place and the drinks are delicious. They don't serve food, but they have food trucks late at night to fulfill the drunchies. They do a good job of making you feel secluded from the shopping center. Having lived in the area my whole life, I thought it was hilarious when I heard this place opened in the Target shopping center, but they do an awesome job of making it seem like you're out in West Hollywood.
