On our way to Bamboo room

So fun !! Finally a place to dance and have a great time we always love to come here. The lemon drops are the best!!

    Cancellation email from Anthony...

Watch out for this company. We had an event scheduled for February and they cancelled it "effective immediately" today. I requested refund of the roughly $4800 deposit and the Chef/Owner Anthony went radio silent. Here is where it gets interesting...A friend called them to check out of morbid curiosity what was going on, and the person who answered the phone said they were wide open for February. They said the kitchen was closed, but that they were happy to host an event. Beware, if you choose to book this place they are clearly not a reputable business.

I absolutely love the energy and the decor of the place. We had dinner at next - at door 101 north , and decided to stay to see what the hype is all about! Dinner was good. Food tasted great . Nothing out of this world. People were having amazing time! And then when it came To bamboo room... or as lot of people Called it - boom boom room... I am In between how to rate this. If I was in my early 20 s, or even younger, this place is a must !! Looked liked lot of people were younger than 21. And that's ok! Drink menu was exactly for young peeps... super sweet drinks, that looked good, it did not really have the amount of alcohol to make it pop for ladies who are 35 something . So , I ordered straight bourbon, and I kid you not- it was watered down! But yes- it's a good place to go to meet people if you are young, wild, and free!

A friend of mine left her phone, how do we get it back on a Sunday?

Try calling the restaurant they own next door. 101 North Eatery and Bar. 805.852.1588

Does this place require a dress code? Would this bar be appropriate for a bachelorette gathering?…

Perfect place for any event or night out. Dancing, 2 bars, outside lounge with fires. Live music on Thursday, great duo that play hits, DJ Saturday and Sunday. This is hands down my favorite place to go out in the area, great vibe for any age.…

I'm going to say that the service was really nice and the staff was really attentive. There wasn't many other people there, which is not great to see because they deserve more attention! They got nice modern comfortable decor and wide open spaces. We tried the tasting menu for each of us as well as an additional dish of steak. Champagne and sake were our choice of alcohol. The tasting itself was $88 and it serves 9 courses. I recommend having it if you aren't sure what to eat. All the dishes were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. We had an additional tasting after for round 2. Haha not because it didn't fill us up, but because we had to invite more people. The tasting is enough to make sure you're full. Plentiful parking in the lot attached. The location is a bit buried inside where the neighborhood is quiet, but it is definitely worth a try. They have sister restaurants called Omaniku in the 626 area as well. I recommend anyone to come try for anniversary, birthdays, date nights, celebrations, or get togethers! You'll impress them with the taste.

The standout was the final savory course: A5 wagyu dipped in a rich onsen egg yolk, which was easily the highlight of the meal. That said, the portions are quite small, and not every course felt equally memorable, so I'm not entirely sure the experience justified the price. Still, the service, presentation, and overall pacing made it an enjoyable dinner--especially for a group looking to celebrate a special occasion or try something different.

The menu is on a small iPad so you can click on a picture a see what the menu item looks like. I liked this feature so I knew exactly what I was ordering. We decided to order the crispy cauliflower, the short rib hummus dish, and baba's chicken. The crispy cauliflower was delicious. I liked the sauce and crispy chickpeas that came with it. We really enjoyed the short rib with the hummus and pita too. The meat was tender and the combination of the flavors was excellent. Baba's chicken was amazing. It was better than I expected. The flavor of the chicken with the couscous and carrots was great. We would get all of these items again. We ended the meal with the chocolatine dessert. This was one of the best desserts we've ever had. The warm chocolate Crossiant bread pudding with the horchata ice cream on top was perfection. I loved the little detail of the sprinkled honeycomb. We would come back just for this dessert! We loved all of the food we ate at Cork Dork and look forward to our next visit!

As pescatarians, we found the menu somewhat limited. While the food was competently prepared and attractively presented, it did not justify the final bill of $213.77. The meal began with a complimentary amuse-bouche of burrata cream on watermelon tasting which was elegant and flavorful, but small. For starters, we ordered the Hamachi, Salmon Tartare Tacos, and Smoked Trout Toast. Each dish had an interesting concept, but none stood out. The salmon and tartare were ground so finely that they lacked the texture and freshness we expected. For our entrées, we had the Tomato & Burrata and the Sea Bream. The sauce accompanying the burrata was excellent and was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sea bream itself was slightly overcooked. We also tried two non-alcoholic drinks: a hibiscus mocktail and a lychee lemonade. Both were pleasant but unremarkable. For dessert, we ordered the peach galette and the chocolate dessert. They were nicely presented but tasted average. The chocolatine contained croissant bits. Given the restaurant's prices, we expected desserts to be better curated and with memorable flavors. Instead, they reminded us of supermarket-quality desserts. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, but the food did not live up to either the presentation or the price. We'd consider returning for the atmosphere, but not for the value.

The menu has some interesting options, the food came out quickly, and the service was very good. Quick take: Get the Chilean Sea Bass special if it is available, the homemade pastas, and the Prosciutto Rucola e Grana Pizza. Skip the meatballs. Know that nearly all the pasta is made in-house, while the spaghetti and penne are imported from Italy (if I'm remembering correctly) The Chilean Sea Bass special was the standout and absolutely worth ordering when offered. Since specials change, I would ask about it before getting too attached, but this would be my first choice. Everyone I was with agreed it was standout and wished they ordered it. The pastas are another strength. I do not like cream, and the server told me they could remove those ingredients, which gave me considerably more flexibility with the menu. It is also worth knowing that the spaghetti and penne are the one exception to the house-made pasta because they are shipped in from Italy. The cocktails were creative and interesting, although almost too sweet for me. Service was friendly and efficient. The only real drawback is that the dining room feels cramped, so this is not the place to go if you need a lot of personal space. Overall, Nonna delivers interesting Italian food, excellent homemade pasta and good service.

We were initially seated outside next to a family with two young kids who were pretty loud. Totally understandable (we have kids too), but we were hoping for a more relaxed, cozy night. Our waitress was great from the start. After ordering the fritto misto calamari (which was good), we asked if we could move inside since it was pretty hot out. I do wish we had been seated inside from the beginning, especially for a birthday dinner. Once inside, the experience completely changed for the better, much more intimate and exactly what we were looking for. We also got a red wine from the Pursued by Bear line (don't remember the exact one, but it had a bold bear on the label) -- smooth, full-bodied, and went really well with the pasta. I got the cacio e pepe and my wife ordered the strozzapreti. Hers was definitely the standout -- the pasta was soft and the red sauce had a lot more flavor than I expected, especially since I don't usually go for red sauce. My cacio e pepe was still good, just a bit simpler. For dessert, we had the vanilla panna cotta and Nonna's cake -- both solid and a nice way to end the night. Overall, a really good experience. The service and indoor ambiance definitely made the night.

It's really fun to look at the wine wall, learn about the wines from all the different regions, and then try pours at various sizes and prices, from 1oz to an entire bottle. Great wine selections and good prices too. The cocktails looked beautiful too! We enjoyed our food that was great for sharing. We ordered the margarita pizza, Caesar salad, meatballs, and a vodka pasta. All delicious. We enjoyed the patio outside. Extremely disappointing experience -- especially for a birthday celebration…read more We chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and made a reservation specifically for the occasion. I mentioned the birthday when making the reservation, and my brother even brought flowers to the restaurant for me. There was absolutely no question that this was a special celebration. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt careless and poorly managed. Our server took away our wine glasses and left us with only water glasses. We waited for quite a while, and eventually had to ask for wine glasses just so we could use the self-service wine machines -- which are one of the main features that attract people to this restaurant in the first place. It was frustrating to have to ask for something as basic as a wine glass in a restaurant built around a wine experience. The service throughout the meal was consistently inattentive. Utensils were brought late multiple times, and after our dishes were changed, we had to sit and wait for utensils before we could even start eating. My daughter's pasta order was also brought incorrectly. But what made the experience particularly disappointing was how completely ignored our special occasion was. Despite the birthday being noted in the reservation and the obvious presence of birthday flowers, there was not even a simple "Happy Birthday" from the restaurant. We were not expecting anything extravagant -- just a basic acknowledgment that would have shown some attention and hospitality. Then came the final unpleasant surprise: we were charged an additional large-party fee. Our group was 4 adults and 2 children -- 6 people total. We have dined at many restaurants with a group of this size and have never been charged an additional fee like this without it being clearly communicated and justified. Considering the level of service we received, seeing an unexpected extra charge on the bill was especially disappointing. What should have been a memorable birthday dinner instead felt like an afterthought. The issue was not one small mistake. Mistakes happen. The problem was the combination of poor service, lack of attention, incorrect food, the complete lack of acknowledgment of a birthday that was clearly communicated in advance, and finally an unexpected additional charge. For a restaurant that presents itself as an experience rather than simply a place to eat, I expected much more professionalism and hospitality. Unfortunately, this is not a place I would choose again for a special occasion, and based on this experience, I would have a hard time recommending it to others.
