Okay, I have been back and up'ing the star count for two reasons. One, the feedback I received from management was extremely thoughtful and second, they took my feedback and incorporated it :) So stopped in for take-out. I ordered the large Won Ton soup, Veggie Low-Mein, General Tso's chicken and an order of egg rolls. The large Won Ton soup was big!! The flavors were really good. I liked the pork and the won ton's that were in it. And it was still good the second day. I had ordered the Veggie Low- Mein on the recommendation of the manager to try the low mein. The flavors were nice, the noodles cooked perfectly. It was my favorite dish of the night. My only issue was that I wish it had a few more vegetables in it. When I ordered the General Tso's chicken I asked if it was spicy and the girl on the phone said it was mild, and I asked her if I could get it spicy. In fairness, at this point in the phone call I was getting a text on what soup to order and was trying to look at that while talking to her, so I didn't here what she said, but I thought she had said it would be fine to get it extra spicy. Unfortunately, when I got it, it was not spicy at all. Occasionally I got some heat, but nothing of what I was hoping for. So I don't know if something got lost in translation, or if I just got the regular order of the "mild" version. That aside, the chicken was cooked well, and I loved all the vegetables in it, I just wish it had more heat. The eggrolls were a very good size. The best part is they looked like they were actually homemade and wrapped in house. The flavor was good, but they were pretty greasy. The best part was the sweet and sour sauce. Previously when getting it, the consistency was pudding like... this time, it was perfect! Not too runny, not too solid. Kudo's to management for implementing a fix! Overall, it was a really good meal. It took two of us, two days to eat it all and the price was about $22. This will become my go to place for Chinese take-out... and if I ever have a craving for Chinese while not still in my sweats, I will try and get in for a sit-down experience. read more

This is a pretty good Chinese restaurant it's nothing to brag about. It's usually always busy no matter the time of day or day of the week or weekend. I do love their war wonton soup and egg drop soup. I also love the hot green tea. The cooks are not Asian but Mexican...but they do get down on the foods mentioned above. I always order any of their fried rice from pork to combination and the sesame chicken is absolutely delicious! I ordered $67.00 dollars worth of food and I was very dissatisfied. I ordered 2 orders of dumplings because they were always my favorite. This time the dumplings were very dense and fried, not steamed, and they were much smaller in size. I also ordered Mongolian chicken and it was definitely not as good as it used to be. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This was undoubtedly the worst food, Asian or not, that I have ever had. It makes me shudder to think about it. We have had much better food out of a can. The noodles were brown and slimy, and there was nothing fresh looking in the four dishes we ordered. Having lived on the Tucson's Southside for 10 years, I have dined at Bamboo Terrace at least 100 times, if not more. I have tasted almost everything, and for the most part, it was always pretty damn good, until the last year or so. It seems every time I come here I am gradually more disappointed. Just 2 weeks ago I ordered four entrees and an eggflower soup. I called in the order and arrived 15 minutes later. I was told that it was going to be an additional 5 minutes while a fresh pot of Egg Flower Soup was made as they had just run out. 20 minutes later, I finally get my food order. I arrive home and begin to eat. The Soup is steaming, but everything else was warm/cold. I was not happy. I contact the restaurant and they want me to bring the food back and have it remade. I was not going to wait another 45 minutes, so I microwaved it. I definitely did not feel like I got my $35 worth. I will probably not return. read more

There food is so good. I have been going here for about four years now and I am never disappointed . My in laws have gone for over twenty years and they have never had a complaint yet. The food sometimes will take a little longer than expected but its because it is ALWAYS fresh never re heated or anything of that nature. I'm always very hesitate when trying a New Restaurant (Especially Chinese), but Bamboo Terrace, on Ajo & Mission in Tucson didn't disappoint. We were immediately greeted and seated with no wait, even though they were very busy. The Atmosphere was Cute, Clean and Quaint. Our drink order was immediately taken and handed a beautiful menu that was extremely appreciated, like browsing a large hard cover book. Before placing my order, I completed a ritual of visiting the restrooms. The facilities of a restaurant tells you a lot about their kitchen and cleaning habits, and they passed with flying colors and was even impressed (I was a waiter in Previous Life). The Food was Medium-Priced, Beautifully Presented, Flavorful and enjoyed every single bite. I only wish I could of tried more dishes, as their menu was filled with incredible choices. We over ordered of course (Four Main Dishes, Two People), and had plenty of food to take home for lunch tomorrow at work and brag of our new find in West Tucson. Hot, full bodied, just spicy enough. Egg rolls...not bad (not really good, either) Princess chicken...meh. Just tasted kinda funny. It wasn't bad, but it certainly didn't impress. Fried rice was ok. The food was great and that deserves a 5. But the service was terrible. The server never came to our table. I had to go to the hostess to get out order taken. People who came in after us sat and received their food before we even got to order. Once the food was brought by who I assume was our "server," she never offered a name or an apology for the lame service. Oh and she didn't offer silverware either. Again, we went to the hostess in the front for that. After leaving the food she never came back to see if we needed anything. I went to the front to complain. This is the place to go, I think, if you're in any part of Tucson and want authentic Cantonese Chinese-style food (vs Chinese American or specialty Hunan or Szchuan, though I only went this one time). So, I had been craving chinese and I ordered take out for my husband and I. We've been coming here for years, almost always wonderful, except today. I ordered over $30 in food and when my husband got home the order was a bit off. My order(of course) isn't exactly what I ordered. I ordered "bbq pork" chop suey, and got just pork chop suey. I only like bbq pork and my 2 favorite dishes I order are both with that ingredient. I called and in turn was spoken to rather rudely by Lorena. She stated that they don't have it on the menu, and I nicely said that I order this dish and have for years! I only asked "if" they could redo just my order in the future I would accept that? She tells me to bring it back now?! You want me to drive approx 9 miles to return a $10 meal, where does that make sense? Then she said "you can bring it tomorrow? " This is how you treat a long term patron? We are trying to help out our favorite restaurants to be treated like crap?
