I ordered the Seafood boil (Wild Crab Sauce-medium spicy--head on shrimp, mussels, crawfish, snow crab legs, corn & eggs) however when I opened the bag--they gave me potatoes as well which was nice of them to add. The smell was sooo good! The sauce was amazing. Next time I'll order it a little bit more spicier. Only thing is the crawfish were super small--could be cause wasn't in season, but I'll be back to try more of the menu. If you want seafood, come here! Definitely worth a try.

Finished with the small seafood broil (definitely shareable ) with shrimp mussels Dungeness crab noodles broccoli and an egg in the wild crab sauce--- didn't disappoint. We also tried the teas which they'll make to your sweetness preference. Psssst.... Super affordable as well. I'll see you there.

Unfortunately, the service we received from our server was the complete opposite, which made the experience extremely disappointing. From the start, our server seemed uninterested in serving our table and appeared bothered whenever we needed something. When our appetizers arrived, we weren't given share plates. When our entrees came out, she walked right past our table without checking on us. I understand servers can get busy, and she only had a couple of other tables at the time, but she never performed even a basic two-bite check-back. We repeatedly had to ask other servers and even kitchen staff for items we needed because our server simply could not be bothered. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, this stood out even more. Throughout the meal, she never asked if we'd like another round of drinks. Instead, she simply removed our cups without offering refills or additional beverages. The most frustrating part came when it was time to pay. We asked to split the bill, but she handed me the POS device with the full amount. When I politely pointed out that the bill had not been split correctly, she responded with an attitude and insisted it was right when it clearly wasn't. I had to ask her to redo it, and the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. I understand the restaurant closes at 10 PM, but we were seated around 8:30 PM, which should have been plenty of time to receive attentive service. It's unfortunate because our experience started on such a positive note thanks to the hostess staff. I expected that same level of hospitality throughout the evening, but instead left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.

So glad this place exists. The aesthetic is really well done, and the food absolutely delivers. The drinks were just as impressive. I started with the ceviche de camarón, which was fresh and flavorful, but the true standout was the seco de chivo, rich, tender, and packed with flavor. The menu is extensive and diverse, so there's truly something for everyone. I feel like ecuadorian food is so underrated, and this spot does an amazing job showcasing it. Yes, it's in Bayonne, but it's easy to get to and there's plenty of street parking. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Had the maduros con queso and muchines de yuca for appetizers and both were excellent. The humitas were also excellent. Good hot sauce too. For dessert I tried the Higos con queso (figs with cheese). Very good. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean. Overall this place was a hit.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager of the establishment and he was very inviting (Peter). We started off with some drinks, I had the dirty martini, my aunt had a Lychee martini, and my uncle a red sangria. When we were seated we started with Thai Calamari, it was so tender and just the right amount of crisp with a flavorful sauce that wasn't overtly sweet. Next I had the beef shank with risotto and the Demi glaze to accompany this fall off the bone lamb was divine. The risotto was creamy and the perfect texture to accompany the meat. My aunt had the lobster stuffed crab with risotto (her favorite), my uncle had the chicken with mash, a classic. Overall the food, the service, the view, and the overall ambiance is definitely a winner. I would recommend this place as a good spot to come with friends, a date, or even a solo dine. Definitely recommend.

They also have valet which I would assume parks your car on the street as well. The place itself is cute, but it's small. The party I attended was in the interior of the location (there was another party happening outside). What I didn't like about the interior was that if anyone was dining in there for lunch/dinner, they had to walk through our party room in order to get to their seats. The staff also had to go through our room to get food/drinks to the other diners. There is also only one restroom for women, which there was always a line for. In regard to the food, the appetizers brought out were the crab and strawberry salad, the Asian ribs, and the octopus salad. This was all very good. For the entree I chose the rib eye. It was really good as well, I just wish there had been a little more seasoning, and also I requested medium but it came out more on the well side. For dessert we had the brownies with ice cream, and the Nutella wontons. This was delicious! Overall, I'd recommended this place for a small party or private dinner. But don't expect privacy.

The inside is rustic, and coastal themed. The servers were very nice and attentive. The portions huge and the prices right. We split the combo for 2 that was $54 and came with a huge lobster tail, filet mignon, chicken and grilled shrimp. Plus three sides which are rice, green beans and broccoli and home made potato chips. Also per person include soup or salad! And they bring over warm rolls, which were excellent and crunchy on outside and fluffy on inside. The potato chips tasted so fresh, lightly seasoned and delicious. The fish and meat were cooked perfectly. The steak had a nice char and sear on the outside. We got the tartufo for dessert and it was delicious, super creamy ice cream and decadent chocolate shell. Definitely want to come back! Great value, service and quality of food. 5/5.

Both dishes were seasoned beautifully and absolutely delicious. The rice in the paella was especially outstanding, soaking up all the incredible flavors from the chicken and chorizo. Two great cocktails later, we left already planning our next visit. Exceptional food, attentive service, generous hospitality, and a timeless dining experience that's becoming harder to find. Mediterraneo is truly a must-try! Ps the restaurant was filled with locals. I feel like maybe they're not writing reviews and this is impacting their overall score. Definitely worth a visit.

I was a bit hesitant to try despite the strong positive reviews, because I also read reviews about it being hard to get a table and they can be rude and its a whole thing and blah blah blah. I am glad I didn't listen to those reviews! It was an amazing experience and Angelina and her son were so nice to us. Yes you have to call up a couple of times to make a reservation and put in your food order, but trust me it's worth it. The decor is nothing like any other restaurants, and the whole experience is nothing like another restaurant. The decor is loud, American and flashy, with an undertone of warmth given by the red and Christmas lights strung everywhere. 4th of July meets Christmas meets Election Day, also somehow it evoked a feeling of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Over the bar area a TV was playing the football playoffs and also a radio was playing jazz and swing music. It's literally like going over someone's house. In a really good way, you feel welcomed and taken care of. Angelina's son pours your glass of wine to the brim and refills your sangria at no charge. He even taught us how to eat the stuffed artichoke after he saw us scooping it on our plate. Instead he said just take a leaf off and suck everything out. Which actually made so much sense and made the experience eating the appetizer much better. I never had a stuffed artichoke before so I can't compare it to anything, but it was a really fun experience eating it and was buttery and delicious. Food came out pretty quickly. The artichoke came out probably just 15 minutes after we sat down. The meals seem to range from 20-40 dollars a dish. I assume the prices fluctuate more than your average restaurant. Which is fine to me, food is more expensive nowadays and these portions are huge and delicious. It's family style! The artichoke was $22, the eggplant parm $30, lasagna $38 and the chicken marsala $40. Glass of wine $10, Sangria $13. Cash only I believe. 3 people could probably share one entree and feel content enough to go home. But we got 3 entrees and an appetizer for 4 people. We have dinner for the rest of the week! Prepare to overeat when you come here. The Eggplant parm was stand-out for me. It was my favorite. The sauce was sweet and light, and the eggplant was crispy and flavorful. The lasagna had a different tomato sauce on it, also good. The cheese in the lasagna was really good as well. There was also a side of pasta handed to us, not sure which dish it was supposed to accompany. It also had red sauce on it, but tasted different from the two other red sauces! That's a real level of detail, make 3 different red sauces when you could just use the same. It's just such good quality food. The bread that was brought out was very good as well, soft, - a good dipping bread! Ask for dessert because the Cannoli was delicious! I want to come back and try tiramisu if they have it. We spent 2 hours here. There were only 2 other tables on a Saturday night. I don't think it's as coveted as it used to be, it's easy to call her. Just find it on google maps and press the call button. I called when the place is closed (before 4:30), because I assume she is busy cooking and attending to the guests during dinner time. Then you just reserve a date and time. She messages you the menu. Though for some reason the text never came through on my phone so I called back and asked if she can send it to my husband's phone number. She did, and we got the menu. I called her back up told her our food order and a week later we sat down and enjoyed our delicious meal! This place is the best, and a really great place to go when your new to the town. They have been here all their lives and know everyone. I felt welcomed and now a true member of the Bayonne community. We will definitely be back.
