My father-in-law wanted Che and we stopped here after some shopping at 99 Ranch next door. I ordered on the kiosk. And the desserts came out quickly. They were able to give it to me in a halved cardboard cupholder and a bag. It still didn't stop me from spilling it partially in the car. Wah wah wah. It's ok, still good. I got the fruit addict (che trai cay) and my FIL got the green lantern (dau xanh banh lor). I love fruits and this dessert had lychee, longan and jackfruit in addition to cocunit milk and a jelly and a bunch of other stuff. All their che is served with shaved, super fine crushed ice, which I really like. My FIL feally liked his dessert too. He loves mung bean and they do it right here, as a paste. You can even customize the sweetness. I'm not a huge fan of che, but it's good every once in awhile. read more

Food - 5/5 If you are a durian lover and when I said this, I meant you expect only the best real durian flesh/meat and wouldn't compromise nor go for those "flavored durian" filling.. then you should try their Durian Sago coconut milk drink which comes with real durian in it. Only this store offers this drink. It's soo good and I have been coming to this store for past few years every time I have a durian craving. I also had their pandan waffle this time. Not bad. Crispy and aromatic. I found in general, most of their drinks on the regular menu are of better quality (fresher ingredients) compared to the other Bambu stores I been to. Have been craving for che thai trai cay (fruit addict) for a while and saw that Bambu serves it. Stopped by on Friday to get one. Hubby got a Vietnamese coffee. The che thai trai cay (fruit addict) #6 was just ok. Honestly I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting more fruit for a dessert that is supposed to be mostly fruit. My cup was most tapioca. It was supposed to have palm seeds, but looks like they stopped including it here. Also, they didnt include any of the pandan jelly aka banh lot either. It seems like they substituted the banh lot for some kind of tapioca strands instead..looking at the menu now, maybe agar jelly. Definitely not what was advertised because I love banh lot and was also looking forward to that. The Vietnamese coffee was horrible. It was so thick and had so much condensed milk that it was literally thick. We threw most of it away. We were in the area again the next day and decided to give it one more try after discussing halo halo with a friend. The halo halo was very rich, sweet and heavy. Wish they had a smaller size available. I got #10 Bambu Favorite this time because I really wanted to make sure I got my pandan jelly fix this time. This was good, but I would have really enjoyed the pandan jelly if they included it in my #6 Fruit Addict the first day. I really didn't appreciate the substitution without them mentioning it at all. I always enjoy a good Vietnamese dessert. Usually a drink with various jellies and fruit mixed together harmoniously in with coconut water or milk, it's refreshing, tasty, and enjoyable. That's my experience at Bambu, which is probably a chain around the San Jose area. The service was quick and friendly. A small store next to 99 Ranch, there are some seating outside and inside, so can get your beverage and enjoy it immediately. Albeit, the drinks are pricey, but the ingredients resemble more of a true dessert than just a drink. We'd come back! read more

I loved my matcha with strawberries, mango and more strawberry fruit bits as toppings. It was really creamy and made as I requested with oat milk and 50% sweet. It was just right! This place went down hill... there is one tablet for customers to punch in their order. It's a very messy and lengthy process. As a customer, I absolutely hate entering a business and expected to take my own order. Please revert back to having staff greet and provide some level of service. Barely ever get Bambu. The last time I had it was a couple months back, or last year, or maybe even 2 to be honest. The quality has gone down a lot over the past decade. I would get the Passionfruit Milk Tea w/ green apple jelly regularly as a kid. Tried it again after a very long time, and it's not that bad. Just wish the passionfruit flavor was a LITTLE stronger. Sad they stopped selling the green apple jelly, but it's generally not a popular topping in tea settings anyway. After eating lunch at BP, needed a cup of coffee and saw this cafe next to 99 Ranch. Decided to get an iced Vietnamese coffee which was delicious. Bambú is located across from Costco and within the plaza next to 99 Ranch Market. Plenty of parking, so besides peak hours, parking isn't an issue. They have been switching between the names Bambú and Che, but it seems like it's the same place since the drinks they offer is pretty much the same. My go-to drinks are their #10 Che (Red tapioca, grass jelly, pandan jelly, coconut milk) and the blended Hazelnut Mocha Vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly. Their drinks are so good! Be forewarned, their coffee is strong, so if you're planning to keep yourself awake, this is a great option. For their che, you can ask for ice on the side if you'd like. The store is small but cute. They've changed up the interior design many times. Currently, they have this cute flower wall and pictures of their drinks. Seating is minimal, but most people get their drinks to-go. I'd say that the quality of their drinks have been steady, plenty of ingredients are given, and the size of their menu selection is decent. If you're craving for something to drink, I would recommend Bambú! read more

I see a lot of mom and pop places that sell Vietnamese desserts but it seems that Bambu has been around for a really long time. This location is particular used to be Lychè but it's not Bambu. If you're going to ring me up for $8.50 and claim that the price changed the last Friday ( I went in on Sunday) then you can use the eraser to wipe off the price and update it with the new price. I don't mind paying $1 extra if the drink was good but it was not. Totally not. All they did was throw 3-4 small pieces of durian chucks on the bottom and the green pandan jelly tasted old. I give it one star because I've had good drinks before on their usual menu but don't bother ordering anything off their " sago edition menu" on the chalkboard when you go in. Customer service is horrible too. Lady just walks away before you can even finish paying. That's another guy yelling in a foreign language to a customer. I don't know. Yelp reminded me I started this review back in 2014 but never finished it. This is my favorite Bambu in the entire bay area! The drinks at this location taste better than the others for some reason. Since I've been here twice the last few weeks, I figure it was a good time to refresh my review and submit an updated one. Located directly to the right of the Ranch99 market, it's easy to find and generally plenty of parking around the corner by the bank area. With shelter-in-place (SIP), parking spaces are in abundance. To speed up the process, we've been ordering off the DoorDash app 10-15min prior to arrival for an immediate pick-up. The Bambu Favorite is my go-to drink which includes red tapioca, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. I may swap out the pandan jelly for more red tapioca if I'm ordering in person but it's easier these days to order it as is. The drink is so well-made and delicious. My only wish is that it came in an XXL cup! Their traditional iced Vietnamese coffee here is also so good! Currently, with SIP, the floors are clearly marked with where to stand and signs everywhere to keep a safe social distance from each other. read more

I got the drink #2 and asked if I could replace the beans in the drink (red bean and mung bean). The lady taking my order was being unhelpful and saying that is how the drink is and replacing both bean toppings with another singular topping would be extra. That didn't make sense to me so I just ordered the drink as is. Although I am not the most fond of beans, I am not over exaggerating when I say half my cup was full of bean + paste. The amount of red bean paste made the entire drink taste like red bean and was extremely thick. It was like I was drinking a thick soup rather than a nice coconut drink with toppings.
